Forums » Smalltalk » Survey on Characters

I did a survey earlier, one created by Abigail_Austin, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. That particular one led me into creating one of my own all about characters!

What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?

Which personality types do you usually go for?

Which one of your characters is your favorite?

I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?

Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?

Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Female probably because I am one and can relate to them more than males. I do play males on occasion though if I find a really interesting plot.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
Generally my characters are made to be fairly sweet and down to earth, especially female ones. I'm not very diverse in that area at the moment but I hope to be one day!
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
This one's tough for me because I love the majority of my babies. But if I had to choose one it would probably be Amaryllis. Or Elijah. Actually... oh never mind, I'll never be able to choose just one XD
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer yours to be? Why, if your so inclined to share?
It depends on the content of the RPs they will be in. If the character is made for mostly mature themed RP a rougher past I'll make them anonymous, especially if it's sexual in nature. I just feel more comfortable having it that way I guess.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Human, although I do plan on having at least one inhuman or supernatural one.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
Face claims. They help me to visualize the character better.
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
I'd say at the moment it's about 50%/50%. My roster is a tad male-heavy because when I was a younger writer I made only male characters. However, I really enjoy writing any gender now!
Which personality types do you usually go for?
A little bit evil and also stealthy rogue types. However... I feel like I've also branched out from this as I've become a more confident writer.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
I love all the characters in my active line-up so much :D But West is the oldest so perhaps a little favoured!
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
I prefer public! I just like showing off all the writing and artwork I've done / received :D Almost all of my anonymous characters are incomplete or very old and in need of a thorough rewrite. I also tend to RP within small friendship groups so everybody knows who they're RPing with anyway.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Humanoids - some with magical abilities. I don't really have much interest playing feral or anthro characters.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
None of the above. All of the art on my profiles were either drawn by me or commissioned / given as a gift / etc. It's all unique. When commissioning artists, I tend to gravitate towards a semi-realistic style.
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Female! I guess it was really more of a female pride thing when I was younger and getting into art and writing. I wanted there to be more strong, female characters. I always chose characters like Cammy and Chun Li in Street Fighter, or fighters like Mileena and Frost in Mortal Kombat, or Sueng Mi-na and Sophitia in Soulcalibur. Back then, it was more because I was definitely raised more in tune with my being a biological female, and I wanted to identify more with female fighters because I thought that was really AWESOME.
So making female characters that are well-written, rounded, and put into works really appeals to me. I've been making more male and non-binary characters, too, ever since I've been more in touch with realising my identity as being genderfluid. But for the most part, I've taken more a shine to writing females who are good at what I want them to be good at and developing over time.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
Confident hero-types. Usually chaotic good vigilantes in some aspect or another. But... I also have a penchant for writing characters who are there to observe and analyse more than they're there to fight and take names.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
I have so many... like... at the moment, I'm really enjoying Verta. But I also have Pyn and Rara that I've been enjoying writing for and planning! There's Prim that I'd love to put onto RPR soon!
It really depends on what I'm in the mood for. I honestly love a lot of my characters. I can't say all, because there are a lot of them that are... genuinely morally bad and were created in such a way to make people hate them, including myself.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
I like public characters. I'm generally very happy to share my creations! The only reason I would have private profiles is because I don't have proper art made and uploaded for those characters yet!
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
All of the above.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I draw all my own characters usually and have art from other people from trades, gifts, or commissions up in their profiles. I have the odd adoptable here and there, though for the most part, I'm very happy to have all of my characters have my own art for them.
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
On RPR, it’s a tie between female and agender characters, and in general it’s probably majority female with non-binary characters in second place and male taking up the rear. This is partly because I feel like there is a dearth of complex and engaging female heroes in stories, so I hope to try and fill the gaps myself. As for the non-binary and agender characters, it’s partly me exploring my own gender identity and partly me wanting more queer representation in stories and, again, trying to be the change I want to see in the writing world.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
I tend to make two types of characters: the witty ones and the nervous ones. Sometimes this overlaps. Still, I have a lot more variety than that, it just keeps cropping up without my noticing I’m doing it. I’ve also noticed that a running theme in a lot of my characters, both on and off RPR, is hunger. No idea why. Oh, and I know it’s overdone, but I’m a sucker for a good ol’ tragic backstory.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
Ghaurug. I’ve had him the longest, so it’s only natural that I would like him the most. Sorry, other characters of mine, your creator plays favorites!
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
I don’t have any anonymous characters yet. I like having mine public because I want people to know that the work I put into them is my own, especially since I often have some worldbuilding in their profiles (especially Cchaaneh, who is never going to be anonymous because they’re a member of my original species).
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Nonhumans and supernaturals, especially the weirder or less common kinds. Why would I want to be a regular old human when I could be a human mage, why a human mage when I could be an elven mage, and why an elven mage when I could be a draconian mage? Or why a human when I could be an alien, and a strange one at that? It’s partly rule of cool and partly escapism.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I mainly use filmmakers and other character creators, which I then credit. I don’t use other people’s art aside from that unless I specifically commissioned it (which I haven’t done yet), and I’ll credit the artist then. I don’t use anime screencaps or face claims, one for copyright reasons and because I usually can’t find any that look like my characters, and the other because, honestly, it weirds me out a little to use a person’s face for one’s own original character, especially since the person whose face people are claiming is almost always unaware and concerningly often uncredited. Plus, as mentioned before, I rarely do humans anyway.
Seth
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Males, no reason in particular other than I feel more comfortable playing them.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
Recently I noted a trend of my character being mostly lawful good or fudging insane, there are some rare exceptions but most fit the bill.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
I'm head over hills for Lester right now, despite not being able to fit him in any plot yet. Yet!
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
All my characters are public, I have no reason to hide them.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Right now most of them are human.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
Original art or 2d face-claim, as someone who had their pictures (as in pictures of me, and not drawings) used without my permission for a RP character I find face claims of real people really creepy specially if they are not a famous people and just a pretty picture found in the internet, even worst if it's a selfie.
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Female. Not sure why likely has everything to do with the fact that I am female.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
I try to be diverse when creating characters. I got into a rut when I first started writing where the characters I had were all different but their personalities were the same. I try not to get stuck on a certain trait or personality type anymore
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
I don't have a favorite. I love all my brain babies and each of them for different reasons.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
I use both. Characters I have that are anon are either works in progress and I'm not ready to share them. Or they're something I don't intend to keep, made for a one off scene or because I'm experimenting with a certain type of character, or writing style.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Both. Humans can be just as special and fascinating as supernatural characters.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I personally have a preference for faceclaims or art drawn specifically for the character. I don't use anime references anymore
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
-Male and female. I just prefer to keep the ration even. Right now I am lacking on female character, and it is bugging me actually haha
Which personality types do you usually go for?
-Quiet, rational types; ones who are confident in themselves I think.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
-I have to admit, it was difficult to choose between Kyoraku and Guren but I think in the end I’d prefer Guren more. In a sense, I feel like I have more in common with Guren and I enjoy him being younger, so occasional bouts of childishness in RP isn’t considered too odd.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
-Public ones. I am biased, but I love all my characters and I am proud of them even though they might not be the best, well rounded or in-depth character with the most thought out personality/background out there but I am still proud of them and want to let others know that they are mine- strange reasoning I think, but yeah.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Either are fine with me, but looking at my roster of characters...most of them are non-human/supernatural.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
Anime style, I am too lazy to draw them myself haha.
RimCaster
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Generally I aim towards 50/50 for now it's mainly male characters, I'm bit lacking on female side although when I make them I'm usually proud of them.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
Depends, I would said generally confident people but not overly unless I deem it to be necessary.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
Don't be silly munch kin, everyone is my favorite more or less.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
Public Characters of course, even though some are work in progress.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Mostly nonhuman/supernatural characters but I make alternate universe version where they're human
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
Anime Style for now.
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Female. I have a few male characters, but it's easier to write from a female perspective.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
Damaged but soft on the inside.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
I really like Colette, but I haven't come across a good RP for her yet.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
Public characters. I just don't have a need for anonymity.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Human. The only supernatural characters I really like are characters in the Harry Potter universe.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I stick with face claims, but I always love when others have art photos.
Asroc
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Male and they are easier for me to RP as.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
It depends. I don't like dark and brooding, nor do I like sugary sweet. I need a happy medium.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
Most of mine are canons. I have one OC, Champon.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
NA
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Non Human
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I get commissions.
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why? Male. I honestly don't know, but even as a kid I tended to want to play the "prince" rather than the princess. I suppose I spend all my waking life a girl so it's another level of escapism to be a guy for a bit, I don't really know.
Which personality types do you usually go for? I like the think I have quite varied characters, though I admit, almost all of my characters have some angst or trauma somewhere. I'm horrible to them.
Which one of your characters is your favorite? I don't have a constant fave, I tend to go through phases where I really enjoy a particular character. Usually it's because I am really enjoying their character development or growth in an rp.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share? All of mine aren't anon but I get why people might want that if they're not entirely comfortable with doing say, adult situations or something. I don't mind playing against anon characters at all, at the end of the day, a username is about as anonymous to me anyway so what do I care? you're a faceless person usually on the other side of the world anyway lol. All i really care about is that you're good, you're happy and you're enjoying the rp as much as I am.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters? I looooove fantasy. I have some bog standard human characters but maaaan, if I have the chance, i'm shoving some supernatural magical stuff on in there. I just like a bit of the fantastical, it's fun and escapist and as an artist I just really enjoy designing non human characters too. I uh.. have a bit of a thing for horns and pointy ears ahahaha.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
Art, commissioned or drawn by myself. Using art of someone else's character doesn't sit well with me, it's not my oc, it's someone elses' character and it feels a bit creatively lacking. Same goes for face claims, it feels a bit... wierd to me. I'm always slightly uneasy wondering if that person knows their photo is being used for certain kinds of stories lol. It feels a bit too identity theftish to me but also I just kinda... I dunno... I have such a clear image in my own head usually of what my characters look like, finding a real life person who would be just right and who's photo would be creative commons is a tall order.
A "if my character was a character in a tv show and I had to pick an actor to cast" sort of thing is fine of course, but I prefer to describe my character with words (as after all, rp IS a written media and if you can't describe using words what the heck are you doing man?) and have some custom artwork to flesh things out a bit.
It means my character's appearance is unique to them, it's totally and completely MINE you know? It also means I can collect artwork from other people of them and omg I LOVE other people's artwork of my ocs, it makes me soooo happy.
Also a lot of my ocs are really VERY unusual in their appearance so yeah... there's no way i'd ever find a real life reference hahaha.
psionicburst
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
When I was but a wee lad/edgy youngster, I would always go for male characters exclusively. It wasn't until I got more comfortable with world building that I started to create female characters, but even then, they served minor roles alongside the protagonists. Later on, instead of all females being support characters, I created some that served major roles, effectively creating a 50/50 even distribution. Also, I do tend to make non-binary weirdness such as elder gods and the like.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
It all depends on the character. My go-to is usually the generic "I'm going to save the world for everlasting peace" hopeful soldier/warrior, and then when I start to build upon their character and personality traits, that's when they become distinct.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
Very bold question and, for me, a very hard thing to answer, seeing as I have probably at least 110+ of them. You won't find her on my character list, but Alise is the one who takes the award. Due to her being in a pivotal story-arc for my world, I can have endless iterations of her with spices up variety.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if you're so inclined to share?
I prefer public characters because that way I could actually know the person behind the character. With an anon, you can't exactly do that.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Nonhumans/supernaturals all the way! Vanilla humans are too run-of-the-mill. Most of my world plots have an abundance of superhumans and there is one major plot arc that I have consisting of nothing but a cast of androids, so I guess you can say I do play favorites...
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
Me, personally, I don't like face claims. The person in question already exists and is almost akin to plagarism and/or stealing an idea; I don't like it. For anime style, no, because someone drew it and that also could be stealing someone's work. Art photos are also the same concept, I prefer just to draw everything myself so that way I won't accidentally get sued.
What sex and/or gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
I usually create female sexed characters, often who identify as cisgender women and sometimes who are bi-gender/nonbinary.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
Dominant/rough around the edges, trouble, honest, passionate. A lot of my characters have pasts of sexual abuse/assault, abuse in general.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
That would be like picking a favorite toe honestly. I do really enjoy playing Bunnie, but i get just as excited to play all my other characters.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
Usually public. For me personally in the past when I had anon characters I would be more often to ghost people and not take responsibility if I wanted to end something. Now I can't really do that if my characters are public. Also it got to a point where my style of profile-making and writing is so specific that people would know it was me anyway and tell me.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Non-supernatural humans usually.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
Usually faceclaims, but some art.
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
I play a mix of both, but most the characters I play are male, since I am one. it's easier for me to get in their headspace.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
I try to go for ones that I think the character would have. I don't really have a particular one, though I like heroic characters more than playing villainous ones.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
Zhouken Taishin, my longest played character, mostly because I view him as a better version of myself or at least what i aspire to be like.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
I prefer public ones mostly because it allows me to link back to the owner of the character and get a feel for the person behind the character.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
I play a mix of both, but I prefer mortal characters as opposed to immortal ones, since it makes death an actual threat. I find that supernatural characters unless they are really well written tend to have no faults or drawbacks and become more of a caricature.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
don't really have a preference but I prefer draw art over face claims. I personally enjoy a mix of anime and western art style, but it depends upon the character I suppose.
red-veins
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
usually females, simply because i am a sucker for FxF romances for obvious reasons. also because i dislike having no art for my characters, and drawing dudes is like the seventh circle of hell for me.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
usually personalities just come to me and i don't think much about them, but i do like a 'rough'n'tough' sort of character who's had a less than stellar backstory. why? who knows. it's probably my inner edgelord calling.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
i might be biased simply because she's my most requested/most used character, but Venus is probably my favorite to write out of all of mine. something to do with how much of an abrasive idiot she is, on top of that secret 'giant teddy bear' side that's always fun to see come out.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
i personally prefer public, just because i like knowing who i'm writing with. i do understand the perks of anonymous, though. sometimes i wish nobody could see my activity feed, lmao.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
both! lots of humans and anthro characters.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
art made by me or commissioned for my main characters, face claims for my side characters. i just can't stand not having an accurate depiction for the characters i have that get used the most, y'know?
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Male, or masculine in general! I'm not really sure why, it's not a deliberate decision when I'm designing.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
cont. from above, regardless of gender, I don't really write dainty or waifish types. It could be because I'm an action junkie, or because I'm secretly an ax-waving beer-drinking hairy dwarf in reality. My characters vary vastly in personality. Some are lazy and simple, others are bold and composed, some scheming or shy, but almost all of them can hold their own in a fight.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
Dralt. He's my second eldest with the most elaborate history of the lot. I love DMing adventures, and since he has more initiative than any of my other OCs, he was the one to build a clan so I can do just that! There are several layers to his personality, but I find he's the easiest to immerse myself in.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if you're so inclined to share?
I keep my mains and some of my "sides" public as advertisement, that way RPers can go down the list and get a solid impression of my style. I do set some side characters anonymous, primarily because it sets a divide between OOC and IC. I've had plot partners tell me they were "too intimidated" to talk to me before, so I like to think it eliminates that and keeps things casual, just the impression of a character and nothing to do with "reputations".
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
While the majority of my OCs are mythical creatures, humans can be a blast. I like playing mundane characters who are influenced by the supernatural, interacting with them in unique ways, either by being altered or seeking to better understand them. Mythicals are my go-to, though. I enjoy exploring mythos or legends and incorporating them in my own style.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I'm not a huge fan of face claims (once saw three characters in the same setting using the same man, awkward), though I do like to build up my characters from scratch using references from reality. Typically I'll Frankenstein features together until I can commission someone for original art.
luna_all_png.png
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why? More often than not, it's Agender identifying people; I'd guess this is mostly because I, myself, identify as such. I've never really felt a strong tie to being a female-sexed person, and just... grasping the idea of being attached to one's birth-given gender is really weird for me to even, like, comprehend. Dressing that way? sure. But being seriously attached to a CIS gender identity is weird for me to fathom tbh lol
As for sex, I have a ... semi equal footing between male / female, but I think I probably err on the female side more.
Which personality types do you usually go for? ... all of them? Having around 160-200 characters at any given time, I kinda just... have all of them, lol. As for preference on what to play? Strong women who are secretly submissive I think (wink wonk). As for what others play, I prefer more dominant characters on the other end... but still sweet?
Which one of your characters is your favorite? DON'T MAKE ME ANSWER THIS QUESTION AAAAAAAAAAAA MY CHILDREN????
Honestly, this one just bounces around from month to month to month based on what I'm feeling / what's rolling around in my head, and who the main characters are focused on.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share? I'm fine on either. On this site, I find that, so long as the character page is nicely written out / looks like care was put into it, then I don't mind. I have personal reasons for using both, but I tend to err on the side of publicly owning my characters.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters? All? Personally tend to err on the side of non-human character tho. I really like exploring all possible avenues of non-human, non-realistic environment characters offer :>
Face claims, anime style, or art photos? I cannot stand anime style profiles, personally or for others. If they have a face claim and/or other art photos and just a few happen to be anime style? Fine and dandy, but purely anime imagery just completely puts me off entirely. My first, and for the longest while main, RP partner only ever used anime images, because that was how he viewed things. I personally view things more realistically in my head, and as an artist, appreciate art renditions a lot... but anime just... I can't handle it dude lol.
Not saying anime style is bad or anything, I can appreciate the art style where it's well executed, but if a person's character page is a bunch of info and then just an obvious anime character / not made specifically for this character anime image, I just... pretty much will refuse to RP with that person. This is something I feel bad about, but I just can't handle this for some reason.
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why? Mostly females, since I am one. Though, I am kind of wanting to expand my roster to include more guys.
Which personality types do you usually go for? Mostly shy, emotional and creative types, since that's how I am usually. However, I also venture into more snappy/hotheaded characters sometimes.
Which one of your characters is your favorite? Phoe, definitely. I just love the development she's gone through :3
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share? Public, mostly 'cause I like to get to know my partners and take a gander at other characters they created.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters? Nonhuman! I dunno why, but I just love playing around with the different races in the world my boyfriend and I have created.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos? I, personally, use my own art for my characters, mostly since I'm able to get them to be the most accurate they can be that way. Though, I understand that there are people who aren't able to do so.
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Mostly males, though that's mostly 'cause I am one, lol. But, I plan on adding some females onto the profile soon.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
They're generally pretty varied, but typically they're idiots, lovable idiots with plenty of confidence, crude humor, and terrible, terrible flirting.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
Probably Kyoya, the guy has gone through so much development sinc I first added him to the RPR. Though, Ja'vassa is a close second.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
I prefer just going with public characters, it's easier for me to keep track of.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
A little bit of both, I love playing whatever appeals to me, whether it's a human or otherwise.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
Anime style, mostly 'cause I couldn't draw to save my life, lol
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
I have made at least 12 female characters and 10 male characters, so I think I've actually kept my male;female ratio pretty even.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
Oh, boy. I've actually gone out of my way to keep my cast pretty diverse in that arena, but I tend to be drawn to a handful of particular minor personality traits: sarcastic/dry sense of humor, cynicism, and general zaniness. I don't know if this counts, but I also tend to make characters in contrasting pairs. ie. the straight man and the goofy sidekick, the mentor figure and his apprentice, the smart kid and the muscle, the pessimist and the optimist...I could go on about this for awhile.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
I hate to admit it, but my mentally and physically scarred shapeshifter Lisa and her mischevious cat get more attention from me than they probably deserve.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
I'm new here, and I don't yet have a preference. However, I'm going to have fun using my character Raven as an alter ego.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Supernatural and nonhuman by a long shot. It's just a lot of fun for me, giving characters weird abilities to play with.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I don't have a lot of experience with face claims but I'm kind of predisposed to not really liking them because...there's only so many celebrities out there and it seems a little weird using a real person's face to represent your fictional character. It'd also be hard for me to do face claims since about half of my characters are non-human.
Anime's fine to me. I like anime, so use all the anime you want. Personally, however, I prefer drawing my characters on my own, but my style kind of resembles anime, not gonna lie.
