What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Female, I feel like as being one I get the mind set better, I do try male or other genders sometimes but I find it a bit harder to not make them feminine when I do not want them to be.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
I go for either strong, take no shit can snap you like a twig/sharpshooter girl. Like a strong woman who don't need no man to protect her or I go completely opposite and go super shy and quiet flustered easy still trying to find their footing in life character.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
My girl Silvaria sadly she doesn't have any good RP going for her often. She isn't my most used girl but she still has a soft spot in my heart.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share? I used to use anon characters for mature RP's but now I see no point. I am an adult I like smut sue me haha. Plus my characters are all close to my heart I like my name near them now. I do rather to rp with people who aren't on anon or at least link my their profile later on. Idk feels weird talking to someone who could disappear without a trace as soon as they delete a character.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Supernatural or non-humans are my main like, I mean why be a plain old person Im already one of those haha
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I tend to draw my characters so artworks are my go too, when I do not have time to draw but want to make a character for a new rp or a one off I will use a face claim or digital art.

What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Mostly females so far. I had several characters I wanted to bring in from stories I was still making and they just happened to be mostly female, so luck of the dice I say
Which personality types do you usually go for?
Various really, I like to have different character personalities for different playstyles and settings. There are some I definately avoid I think though
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
Hard decision, when I started it was Siira, her story captivated me but there are a few others that haven't made it to RPR that are equally as compelling for me. Avri is a close second I think as far as current RPR characters go.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
I currently have no anon characters, but I started an rp with an anon named Sivwikkas who so far I just adore! A lot of work was put into the character and race and it's a lot of fun getting to know Sivwikkas already.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Aliens...one human so far but mostly non humans
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
All I can manage is Google swipe so far....one is anime style which drives me crazy (I personally do not care for that style)

"I did a survey earlier, one created by Abigail_Austin, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. That particular one led me into creating one of my own all about characters!"
Awwww Yay!!
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
What an interesting question! Mainly because I hadn't thought about it, and it's so easy to look back and see.
I went and counted, and I have made 6 female characters and 5 male characters. So...it's split right down the middle.
But...I have found that I play the male characters more often that the female ones. I think the reason is because of my "audience." I like to roleplay romance with (the other roleplayers playing) female characters, because that's the way my natural attraction runs, so playing a romance where the other RPer's character is male is challenging. I can't imagine what my character would be feeling like, but I can imagine when it's a girl. And girls like guys! Usually! Lol. So my M/F romances usually seem to go well, whereas only a few of my F/F ones go as well and last (although there are two really good ones). Also, it's fun playing alpha males...kind of releasing my inner "id"...being all "grrrrrr!...I shall invade and conquer this land (or group dynamic, or office environment...) Lol. But it's half gals and half guys in my list.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
I have trouble not creating "nice" characters. They care about other characters. Even my antihero/villian cares about the girl loves, in an even more deep and no-holds-barred, fatalistic way, even, than my "good people" characters, but all my characters are the kind that end up loving the ones they love deeply. My guy characters have more of a sense of humor. I haven't really developed the sense of humor in my female characters. I don't know why that is. The girls are friendly, except one evil queen, but I don't think I play her well. The female characters are more kind, nurturing, uptight, worriers and the males are happy-go-lucky, carefree (except the villian Jude and the evil queen, of course). Idk why. Hmm.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
David, the medeival outlaw (historical) or (ironically) the police officer (modern)
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
Public. I really like to know my roleplay partners OOC. I will play with anons, doesn't bother me a bit, I don't think it's creepy, but I WILL likely try to talk to my RP partners OOC and get to know them, and I WILL probably "overshare" (jokingly self-depricating) about myself, so I might as well be public... although I want to try doing a RP with an anonymous character (mine). I even created one. But I'm kind of overloaded atm.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Human or werewolves but not opposed to other humanoid characters
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
Face claims and anime style art by Birdy99!
((That was fun to do and interesting))

What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Women! I just prefer writing and creating female characters. I appreciate well-written female characters when I find them and that might have something to do with it. I try to do my ladies justice.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
My characters are typically altruistic and do-gooders to an extent. That is a constant. Whether they're quirky or reserved, hot-tempered or aloof, I don't often write antagonists. When I do, they often believe their actions are justified and acting for the "greater good." (Hence the tidbit about being do-gooders "to an extent" above.)
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
Oof, that's tough. I think as far as "aesthetics" go Nysphina claims #1 because she's all about flowers, pastel colors, and is very unashamed about things typically associated with being "girly." She's loud about it, too.
But I also like the mystifying air about my sorceress, Melantha Highmoon, and her connection to (you guessed it) the moon. And Giselle is sweet flower lady that I would die for and protect with my life.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if you're so inclined to share?
I prefer making my characters publicly tied to me for no other reason than, "hey, I made this."
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
I usually go the supernatural/nonhuman route. It's the same reason I usually play different races in games with character creation: I'm already a human IRL, why not try something new?
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I'm open to all of them as long as they don't oversaturate our posts as a crutch for not describing something. I haven't gotten art in a loooong time, but I'm already attached to my three magical babes so that's about to change.
(I liked doing this very much ♥ thank you!!)

What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Female. It's so much easier for me to do. I have something saved on writing male characters, but I find it too hard to try and actually write. I think my only successful male I've had was on another website.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
I've discovered few people enjoy passive characters unless they're subs. (And I'm not a huge smut writer.) So generally, I have my more stubborn, angry, warrior like characters.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
So far, Runhild, my LotR character I write with Dunedain's Dunhama. She's fierce, but still feminine and passive, and she's just so fun to write.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
I think public, though I am more than willing to do anonymous. I just feel like public makes it easier to build a friendship with the writer.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Both! I have a couple new ones in the works that are going to be supernatural/nonhuman.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I prefer face claims and art photos. Anime is cute, but is difficult for me to get behind in general when building a character. (I'm fine with other people's use of it; I just won't use it myself.) I also, very rarely, use doll makers when I can't find a photo that fits with my design.

What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
It's pretty split, actually. Not on this site, because most of the characters I lean to nowadays are male, but I have several non-binary characters and females as well. I think it's a little affected by my own search for escaping a female light, which I'm pretty much stuck in. I'm ftm, but my parents disagree, so it can feel a little entrapping. Having male characters helps me escape that.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
I love having a giant range of personalities. I have heroes, villains, cowards, saviors, rude characters, softies, people with perfect lives and people who have gone through hell. I love the diversity, and discovering who they are as I play them.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
My character Thamiorn is my favorite, and has been for about the last two years. I'm not sure why, I just really love him. He's a very complex character with a heavy backstory.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share
I go with public, always! I don't quite understand the anon characters, but that may be because I have too much pride in my writing, haha. I love sharing my works and characters, and if someone has something to say about one, how can they reach you if it's anonymous?
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Humanoids, usually, but I have very very few actual humans. The humans I do have are supernatural or magickal in some way, haha. I just find humans boring. Why be something you already are when you could be something completely new?
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I do face claims sometimes, when I use real photo, but I usually go for painterly character portraits. I do sometimes use anime style pictures if I need to quickly grab a photo, but I rarely use them when they're important. If I can find who did the art, I'll credit, but that can be difficult. If I can't find a picture that fits my character, I'll usually just draw it myself (like with Thamiorn! )

What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why? Male. It might be a gender-identity thing; that's my best guess, although who knows. I've been re-embracing the concept of playing female characters in the past half a decade, but in the end, most are still male.
Which personality types do you usually go for? Hhh I hate limiting myself to any one thing. That said, I very rarely play overly flamboyant characters (but I do love Quirks). I mainly mean this in the LGBT stereotype department. I also don't tend to play anyone with overly feminine mannerisms or traits... Not many effeminate males, most of my girls are skirt-hating scientists or face-smashing demolitions experts. I have a vaguely feminine non-binary doctor who stalks everywhere like they're coming to rip your spine out through your throat, and who looks super cute in a dress, but they'd trip and faceplant if they tried to wear heels.
Which one of your characters is your favorite? That's hard--at the moment, the character I've been playing the most of is Doctor Cecille Gadhavi; so they're definitely my 'current' favourite.
That said, one of my longest-running and most-AU'd character is Rémi d'Aubigné, who isn't on RPR because I played him both before it was a thing and brought him back to sites that use their own profile system. But he's my cranky, daddly vampire peasant farmer. He's been AU'd into a retired ballet dancer, and an unsettling carnivorous space-smuggler with a heart of gold.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if you're so inclined to share? Since I don't 'advertise' myself or look for individual RP partners (I just join groups if they interest me), I basically make 'public' whatever characters I feel represent me the most/are currently being played the most/whose profiles aren't almost eight years old and have never been updated.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters? I enjoy playing human or very mundane characters dealing with over the top/supernatural worlds. I play a very mundane little human doctor surrounded by an entire cast of non-humans trying to fight an organization of human racists.
I played a retired ballet dancer with a crippled back in a world where your ability to dance gave you superpowers and was directly proportional to your Worth in society.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos? No. I'm terrible with actors, I don't know any, I can never think of any that look anything like how I envision my characters. I'm not much of an anime-watcher and most of my characters are too old for that to work. I tend to just do my own doodles for character designs; I'm a bit too awkward and shy to commission people.

Female, sometimes a strong independent one or sometimes a weak helpless one. I’m not completely sure why thou I myself am female, and I’ve just gotten use to it that way...? Sometimes I’ll make a male but that’s not very often!
Which personality types do you usually go for?
Normally I go for something similar to myself stubborn, and reserved, often very observant! Always ready to help someone, terrified of guys, and we’ll all around a quiet artsy person. Though when around close friends not afraid to be herself and a goofball! Little cute things they do are fun to like it just gives them that small boost of being their own person! So for example Kitsumi she’s a real goof, she has a big mouth and talks big like a boss but she’s just a tiny lil thing...
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
I would have to say either Aleu or Raven I would lean more twoards Raven but I can’t handle choosing just one! Think of it as for medieval Aleu is my fav and for modern Raven is my fav!
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
I don’t really mind I like both and I’m happy to share why! For public if I enjoyed role playing with a certain group then I’d love for them to message me about new role play with different or the same characters! For anonymous if I’m role playing with some and I so happen to delete my character after telling them I’m no longer interested in the Rp, I don’t have to deal with several pms asking if we can continue or start a new Rp which is exactly the same..... sooo I’ve figured out quite a few people I avoid because of this, not trying to be rude but if I’m not interested in a Rp I’m not interested...
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
It depends I like human characters I guess... no scratch that! I hate being human, not if it’s half human half supernatural being I’m fine with that! But being human is just sooo boring... idk why... but most of my characters involve being half human and half wolf or fox or well ya!
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I prefer anime, and the reason for this is probably cuz I grew up watching anime and I’ve just gotten so use to it! If more people on here liked Gachaverse/Life then I’d be willing to use that not as much as anime but it would be an option!

Female, I just tend to get inspired to make them more often than not.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
I really don't know. I mean, I could write a long list of character personality types I don't go for...
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
Gwen!
I really do have to update her bio, since I developed her personality a lot recently.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
I have both, my weird or fandom characters I make anonymous and my normal ones I make public.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
I usually prefer humans.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
Eh, I'd like to do my own art for my characters but I'm not that good yet, so that would be my top choice.

What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why? Male. I'm not sure why. I've been trying to shake it up a bit, lately.
Which personality types do you usually go for? I don't like limiting myself, but I tend to lean towards at-least-mildly-eccentric nerds or specialists. Write what you know, right?
I do play a lot of dad-figures. I'm not sure what that means and I'm not really inclined to unpack it all that much.
Which one of your characters is your favorite? ALL. OF. THEM. Seriously, what am I to do with this question! I suppose my present mains are Zeta (That cheerful head with whom AJ’s doctor is chatting up there) and Evren. My third present favorite is presently anonymous - for reasons listed below!
Arron is one of my longest-running characters, and I have to give him a nod too because I love him dearly and always keep coming back to him in one form or another.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share? I've got a bit of a theatrical approach to this one: If they're active, whatever serves the story in which I'm playing the most. If the character itself is one that skulks about in shadows figuratively or literally, if it's a 'big bad' NPC or if it otherwise just seems to 'fit,' I keep them anonymous until the stories or RP activities demand otherwise.
But if they're inactive, anonymity is usually because they're ages old or under severe construction, and I don't want anyone looking at them unless I at least get a new piece of art on it - don't look at me, you can't play with these, I was young and stupid, then-!
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters? Any and all of them. Mundane characters dealing with worlds going wild around them is a blast, I love going the Marvel route of resourceful-outcast-to-hero, and indulging in the DC route of grounded gods. When I do play supernatural characters - unless they're deliberately blue-and-orange-morality driven alien types - I always look for something to root them, and make them as 'human' as the rest.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos? The only times I'll use faceclaims will be when I'm gifhunting for silly guestbook comments, or if there's some exceptionally marked feature I want to adapt into the design - and my own attempts to render it fall short. It helps when pitching it to other artists, but once a consistent design and rendition emerges, the need goes away.
Otherwise, art. Original art, all the way. I love to art and collect other peoples' styles.

Hey, look, a survey! Love these things. Thanks for posting.
What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
I have a fairly even mix of men and women, though my account here doesn’t do that fact justice. I play male characters more often because 1) there’s often more demand for them, and 2) like some people have said, I feel I have a better grasp of them, being male myself. Does that mean I don’t have, make, or use women characters? Definitely not.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
My prime aim in character creation is diversity. I try not to make too many personality repetitions in characters. If I had to pick a type of personality I love in literature, though, I definitely have favorites to draw from. I like people with a strong sense of duty who are misguided and as a result they are a potent, dangerous force. I love carefree criminal types who act flippant but are under immense pressure at all times. I also have a major soft spot for religious characters who are truly, wholly devoted to their deity, and that love shines through their interactions with others.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
My character favorites rotate with who’s in play at the time. I’ve been drawing my character’s Alteris, who I just made this month, and Opaxia, who was made sometime last year. Give me another month and my attentions will rotate to someone else again.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if you’re so inclined to share?
I don’t have any anonymous characters, and the majority of characters I play for RPs actually aren’t uploaded on this site. I like characters on public profiles so I can give their writers kudos though. Always like to show a little appreciation.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Both. Both is good. Overall I make more human characters. That or heavily humanoid ones. I don’t roleplay with animal or anthropomorphic characters, but I’ll play robots, harpies, people with a monstrous/animal form, and so on.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I design all of my own characters from scratch and either draw them or make a really clear written description. I don’t want to hunt online for images to represent them when I have the freedom to make everything exactly how I envisioned it at the onset of their creation.
Thanks again for the fun survey. Time to look and see what other people are posting!

What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
Generally, most of my characters are female, and all of said females are extreme tomboys. I'm honestly not sure why, it just ends up happening that way.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
I've got characters all over the board. Some are scrappy, others are nerdy, some like to cause trouble and others try to solve problems. I've never enjoyed playing 'damsel/ gent in distress' kind of characters, though, so generally all my toons are self sufficient enough to take care of themselves or fight for themselves.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if your so inclined to share?
I've got some of both. I've generally got no preference one way or the other. Mostly, the ones I've got as anonymous tend to be my alternative characters (Infrequently played, or villain characters, for example), and the ones I've got public are characters that I play frequently.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
Again, a mix of both. I tend to lean towards the fantastical, however. Lots of supernatural characters, especially from Celtic and Nordic mythologies. I like to try and make my own spin on certain legends, be they elves or werecreatures. But I also enjoy sci-fi, where the character is a mundane human living in a crazy futuristic setting.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
I never use faceclaims. I'll photobash reference sheets to help me conceptualize a character, (like, this jaw structure, that hair style, these kinds of clothes with this color pallet, etc.), but then I'll usually draw it myself a few times until I'm happy with the end result.

Which one of your characters is your favorite?
Definitely Azilie.
I've been rping her since I was in middle school, making her my oldest toon by far. With how much written history has gone into her, she's the character I can rp the easiest given how well I've come to understand her personality and morality and how it's developed over the years. She's one of the few characters I've written from childhood to adulthood, and that's given me a ton of background to build and rp off of, even to this day. Az is for sure my creative baby.

What gender of character do you find yourself most often creating? Why?
☽ I create an equal amount of both, for the most part, but my male characters tend to be my most active.
Which personality types do you usually go for?
☽ These also are variant! A lot of my characters are some degree of secretive, however.
Which one of your characters is your favorite?
☽ That is very hard to choose! One of my anon ocs and Cenedril, I think, would be my most loved.
I've seen lots of anonymous characters and lots of public ones. Which do you prefer? Why, if you’re so inclined to share?
☽ Most of my characters are kept anonymous, I only take them off anon is they are important for a larger group.
Human characters or nonhuman/supernatural characters?
☽ Humanoid supernatural and human, mostly. I adore monsters and unusual creatures, so I will design many of these for a story/rp.
Face claims, anime style, or art photos?
☽ I draw most of my characters or commission art from other artists. Face claims are alright but not anything I use often.
