Soo I discovered something ridiclous about my and my dad's cell/internet plan with tmobile.
So, my mobile hotspot has always been slow as a turtle. Basically, I would turn it on via my phone, and connect my laptop to it, and my download speeds never got about 60kb/s. Which is MIND NUMBING. My upload speeds only a little faster. Yet my dads download speeds on his mobile hot spot have always been around 400-600kb/s. Which is crazy compared to mine even though, we set up for us to have the exact same plan. So we thought.
I was curious about how many minutes I spent on the phone with one of my bestest friends in the last 30 days, (A LOT)
and as I was looking at the number I looked down to my mobile hot spot usage and it says..
"5.8GBs used of 0GBs."
....
UHHH. What?!
So I slide over to another page and to my plan and it says "mobile hot spot included *limit of 3G speeds max of 100kb/s"
I wait for my dad to get home, get on his phone look at his account and his says:
"10.6GBs of 10GBs."
His plan says "10GB of 4G mobile hot spot included *throttles to 3G speeds after 10GB is used."
So, um.
Yeah apparently they had my dad set up paying $10 extra on his plan for 4G hot spot, but hadn't applied the same to my account.
*Sighs.*
Thankfully we were able to add to my account through the app, (except the price changed and now the only option for adding it new is 20GB for $15, instead of 10 for $10) so now I actually have mobile hot spot faster than a turtle.
I checked it on my laptop and now I am getting download speeds of around 300KB/s to 400KB/s, which isn't crazy or anything, but compared to the 60KB/s I was getting, it's life changing.
We are still very confused as to why my dad had the extra $10/10GB thing and I didn't, but it was just easier to add to my account from the app than it was to call customer service and have them do it.
I am sure if I hadn't notice, it would have gone on for many more months, my dad is a sweet old dude who looks at the number on the bill and pays it unless it's drastically different.

haha, I get that. Basically, yeah my speed was so slow and now it's...not as slow, but also not as fast as it could be.

Haha...see, I understood that. I guess when you throw the numbers in there my brain checks out and I'm like, "Oh look! The word snafu! Let's talk about that!" Lol
