//Uh this may suck, just a warning.//

Adam simply sat in the same place they’ve woken up. They quietly listened to the noises around them, their dry mouth agape. They sat, crisscross,their breathing becoming uneven. Paite truly was horrified, though they looked amazed, and quite interested in the dark world around them. “Holy crud...” That’s all they could say, at the moment. They swept some of the dark hair out of their face, closing both their green eyes and mouth.

Bang!

More sharp cracks, shots from whatever that weapon is. Lisa screams and pulls Liliath close to her, sheilding the girl with her battered body.

Bang, bang!

Two more, she grits her teeth and braces herself for more pain. None comes; the shots aren't meant for her, but she can't know.

Bang!

Bang!

Then silence.

As she let go of Liliath, the girl starts singing some sort of song; making the lyrics up on the spot. Lisa kneels by her, in shock. As she blinks, she starts to see spots of light in her vision. She can make out a few shapes again. Liliath, bouncing and singing. Raven, staring dead ahead at two forms lying prone on the ground, unmoving.

The man, hands splayed out, palms up toward the dark sky. A smaller weapon lies on the pavement beside him. He must have dropped it when he fell.

And Victi.

Lisa thinks she sees her jaws move as she mutters something, then she, too, falls silent and still.

Are they...?

Slowly she crawls toward them and places a hand on Victi's chest, remembering the fox's earlier warning with a wry smile. You're in no shape to break my elbows now. Victi's furry chest rises and falls a little unevenly, but she's alive.

Now, the strange man.

She feels a little bad for attacking him now; whatever blood he shed is on her hands. All she can do now is check his pulse. He has a heartbeat.

Spirits, she dreads the moment this man wakes up.

"Girl," she addresses Liliath. "I hate to ask you, but is there any chance the person who struck you is nearby?" Her vision is still dull; her head is throbbing. She will need help dealing with the wounded.

Raven shakes her head like she can shake off the horror of what she'd just witnessed. It's bad enough to know that one guy wants everyone dead, but now she worries that they're going to kill each other before Vincent gets another chance. She tries to forget about it for now and bury her worry.

Lisa kneels by Vicit and the armored man. She stalks toward her cautiously.

"Liz; you're gonna hate me, but I have to ask."

Lisa heaves a sigh. "What, Raven?"

"You...aren't a shapeshifting demon, are you?"

"No, Raven. I'm not."

The cat smirks. "Liar."

There's a beat, a moment where Raven thinks she's made a mistake. Then Lisa chuckles and says, "You sound like that racist old man from the village."

And it's almost like old times. Said old times only go back about a day or two, for the record.

Big structure! Good roost, hive point. Rest here, wait for light. Mother said "don't trust the small abodes" . This one large, far. Safe. Logic demands!

[The bursters do their best to crash through a window on the upper floor of the large mannor, to rest there. They don't see in the dark well.]

Liliath shrugged , she didn’t really want to talk about that anymore. “Why did the shoot in us?” Liliath asked curious . “Anyways , we should go , cause this place is not safe .”

“Raven , come we are going home.”

"I think," Lisa says. She pauses. How do you explain this to a child? "He was scared, like me. Perhaps like you. We're all scared and that's why the fight happened."

"But he can't hurt us anymore, so I'm done trying hurt him." Now all that's left to do is get them inside and treat their injuries, but neither Liliath or Raven can help her carry them into the police station and the girl doesn't seem interested in fetching more adult help.

So she does what she can.

Now that she can see again, it's easier to get her supplies from the pack. She starts with Victi, who has the most obvious injuries on her wings. Small, bloody holes. So that's what his weapon does. At least they aren't arrow wounds; those can be horrible to treat. She prods the bullet holes, looking for anything she might have to remove, but whatever it was mostly blazed straight through the wing.

She normally would first clean the injury, but she has no access to water. Lisa doesn't trust any water here to be safe anyways.

So she first finds a vial of her healing salve. As she removes the cork, a faint antiseptic scent wafts through the air. Lisa smiles and lets that distract from the ever-present scent of decay while she dabs the concoction on Victi's injuries.

Then come bandages, long stretches of gauze wrapped over the fox's wing. She tried to make sure they'd limit mobility as little as possible, but the job isn't perfect. No time for perfect.

After all is done, she sits back and wipes her brow. Her finger tips are stained with the medicine and Victi's blood. The dull throb in her head is growing into pounding. I definitely have a concussion. She looks at the man. How badly injured is he? She sees no horrible injuries on him; there are bruises, some scrapes, but she has no idea what Victi did to him. He could have internal injuries that she can do nothing about.

Nothing but sit and watch him die.

Or wait for him to wake up and try to kill her.

God, her head hurts. If only she could sleep some of it off, but now is a really bad time to take a nap.

Lisa is working, and Raven is stuck taking care of the girl.

"I don't think we can go home that easily," Raven says. "We should wait, anyways. Liz has a job to do."

The mansion does not appreciate being broken into. As the bursters shatter one of its upper windows, a low rumble, like an earthquake, strikes the building. It grows into an unearthly shriek as the floor they touch down on begins to crumble. All of this is felt as a small tremor to the people on the town's outer circles. To the bursters, it should send a crystal clear message: Get out.

Tremors.... floor damage. Grip to walls. Secure roost unless mother orders. Good place to rest. Rest on walls.

[Without direction, these creatures have no self preservation instinct and very little decision making ability, their brains kept small for efficiency and rapid gestation. They are little more than biological seeker missiles]

Liliath sighed “I hate this stupid place.” “Everybody makes fights with each other and no one is nice to each other , besides Lisa me and Raven.”

Raven tries to smile. "They'll figure it out. Right now, everyone is just confused and scared, like Liz said." She stands. They do need to get inside, out of the darkness where very few of them can see danger coming. Dim lights flicker inside the police station.

But then Raven has yet to have a single positive experience with this city's great indoors.

As a small tremor strikes the ground before slowly fading, she worries that the outdoors aren't better.

"Hey, Liz. I'm going to go fetch Seo, tell her what's up. You can watch Little and the heavy sleepers, right?"

"Aren't you awfully mature about this?"

"You can be proud of me later," Raven dismisses the comment with a wave of her paw. "The market seems to be in sight of this building so it should be safe to pay it another visit alone."

"Go ahead, then."

Raven starts to walk away, but stops. "One more thing."

"What?"

"Try not to attack anyone else."

"Don't run after armed strangers."

"Deal." Raven smirks and, after telling Liliath to stay with Lisa, she returns to the grocery store.

Idiot creatures. The walls, too, begin to shift, begin to close in. If they won't get out, it will crush them.

Wait...

Could it use these creatures to its advantage?

The screeching of the house comes to a halt as it considers the possibility of letting these drones wreak their havoc. It can forgive them for breaking its Windows if they manage to cause more suffering for the beings below them...

“I hate Seo.” “She is mean.” Liliath told “She acts innocent but when you reallly know her , she is a mean pumpkin .”

Liliath sighed “I can stay with you and RVen right , if we escape from this place?”

Seo felt upset , she saw Raven “I hit that little girl.” She said honest

[If allowed to, the Bursters go to sleep for now]

The house settles, still angry that the bursters broke its window, but willing for let them live if they can cause a little more bloodshed later.

Lisa doesn't answer right away, instead choosing to frustrate herself with the arduous task of freeing Masoto from his armor. Her fingers feel raw and angry as they scrape against his helmet over and over again.

Finally, she gives up. She lets out a brief cry of anger before answering Liliath's question. "We'll see." The words come out a lot harsher than what she'd like.

"I..." She tries to take a mental step back. "Sorry. I'm just...just tired."

“Raven also said that.” “We’ll see.” Liliath sighed and looked away , a tear dropped on the the street. She looked back and fake smiled “Lets go!”

"Uh, yeah," Raven says, "and she hates you now. Anyways, you should come with me. We could use a second pair of hands over there." Raven says all this very quickly then turns away. She's mad at Seo, too. Not for hitting Liliath. Tension is tearing apart the ceiling here so Raven personally doesn't blame her for smacking the girl.

She's much angrier with Seo for allowing the child to run into danger in the first place. That man had...something. A weapon, she thinks. And he could have been Vincent. She thought Seo had more survival sense than Raven herself does. She thought she'd do a better job of keeping the child safe.

"No, we can't go anywhere." Lisa says. "I need to do my job here, and...child," she has to say it now. "You may not like these people, but we need them. You may not understand, but I believe that we need to keep everyone together if we want to escape."

“She did deserve it.” She then said “She bite me in my hands , I tried to keep her here I even grabbed her at her arms but that little... , someone should raise that child propably , she is brat sorry not sorry,” Seo rolled her eyes , first she felt sorry but now she didn’t.
