While Griffon was not actually going to destroy the cup, he was going to sell the cup to Acer for the price he got it since he seemed to need it so much. He shook his head and called back, "I have water skins! Lots of them!" He shook his head again and turned and walked away from the man. He was almost ready to begin his adventure. He stopped and called out to the man again, "At least I know where the Island is!"
Acer flashed his map while walking and called back, "But that island is so booby trapped that without this map, you'll be dead on the sand before you could even reach the jungle leaves!"
"Yeah? So how many will the wild life have left standing? Or time for that matter!? It's a ruins my friend! Time tests everything, maybe its tested your brain a little too much." He smiled at the seemingly angry man.
"What are you talking about? I never said anything about standing." He stopped and looked at Griffon as if he had just asked if one plus one equaled eighteen.
"How many are standing, as in how many are left. It was a rhetorical question!" He sighed. It was best he just walk away now, and he did. With his cup in his hand he trotted off towards the nearest tavern. There he could earn a bit of coin by putting his story telling skills to good use.
(Timeskip?)
Acer walked in the other direction. He knew that if Griffon would die if he went to that island without his map, but apparently he didn't. "His funeral," Acer said as he kept walking.

((Sure))
Griffon sat in the tavern telling a story of three heroic adventurers that slayed a fiersome dragon. "And with one last mighty swing, the knight cleaved the dragon's head off!" He continued the story about their struggle to then leave the island that had started sinking. He made sure to include how the group had to leave mounds of treasure behind, or perish with it! This got the attention of several shady figures that were listening to the story. Why wouldn't it? They love their money!
Griffon's bag sat open by him for people to put money into in order to show how they liked it. Not only was he able to earn money this way, but it helped bring people to the tavern and therefore he was granted a free room and drinks and food on the house. This was the norm for Griffon when he was not exploring or adventuring.

(That didn't help )
Acer was outside in the market. He was scanning the booths for weapons. He came across a booth with a bow and arrow set made of solid silver, engraved in marking. He picked it up saying surprised, "Much lighter than i thought it would be." He picked up an arrow and put it against the bow before drawing it back. He turned to the side with the arrow drawn, to see Girffon through the window. He considered shooting him before telling himself, "Ugh.....not worth it." He drew the arrow back a little further, to see how far the bow would stretch, still aiming at Griffon.

((Shoulda been specific! hahaha, I actually intended it to be much later that he was in the tavern finishing his story.))
Griffon finished his story and was given a round of aplause. He stood up and shook a few hands before heading to the bar for some bread and water since he doesn't drink. He went back to his spot and looked out over the market place. It was still quite busy despite the dimming of the sky. His gaze went down a little before spotting Acer. He looked small down there. He waved through the window of the tavern on the city's cliff.

((SHOULDDA GOT OUT THE TAVERN IF YOU DON'T DRINK ))
Acer smirked at his waving. He blinked twice before releasing the arrow. It zoomed through the air pass the people. It glowed white and phased through the window, not breaking it. It flew until the arrow's tip reached millimeters from Griffon's face. Before it it him however, it glowed white and disappeared.

((He makes a living in the taverns!))
Griffon blinked as the arrow dissapeared. He looked down at the shooter and raised an eye brow. Rather than doing anything back, especially since he was average with a bow at best, he just raised the cup so Acer could see it. He put it above his head and did a little 'I got a jar of dirt' dance. He only stopped a few seconds later when he received weird looks from the tavern's patrons.

Acer smirked before shooting another arrow. It phased through the wall again, and got closer to Griffon's head. It snagged the cup by the handle, pinning it against the wall. Acer smirked again and lowered his bow. He returned it to the salesman and gave a few coins for the arrows he shot.
Griffon saw the arrow this time and moved out of the way of the window, letting it miss its target. He reappeared only to stick his tounge out at the jerk and go to a table without a window view. That guy has serious issues.
He thought he might hit the hay early and get up the next day and head out for the island. He would need his rest.
((Time just to morning once our guys go to bed?))

The next morning Acer was at the docks. He had chartered a boat and was waiting for the captain to come. He looked around, and to his detriment, he saw Griffon, "Oh, joy."
The next morning Acer was at the docks. He had chartered a boat and was waiting for the captain to come. He looked around, and to his detriment, he saw Griffon, "Oh, joy."
Griffon was in fact just passing through the docks, since he had the map he knew that they didn't need a boat to get there... yet. "Look who it is! You know a boat will take longer right? Just saying, do you even know how to get there?" He shook his head and walked past. "If you could be nice maybe you could come with me and we could use both of our maps," he mumbled. "Oh and good luck with the Giant Squid!" Griffon motioned a hand to where injured sailors with large round marks on them were being treated. He turned around and walked backwards to say one last thing, "I'm so glad I know how to get there the safer route." He stopped and turned around to inspect an unconsious injured sailor.
Acer smiled, "Well for your information, boat or airplane is the only way to get their. unless you plan on walking on water. I'm just glad I know the REAL way there. And for your information, that squid was killed over three years ago." Acer gave a smirk, "I should know....I'm the one who killed it," Acer said pulling out a small chopped of tentacle preserved in amber, only the size of an entire fingernail. "Would you care to come? We could combine maps." Acer REALLY didn't want to, but he knew he had to.
((just for future reference.....that's dumb ))
((just for future reference.....that's dumb ))
Griffon looked at the tiny tentacle. "You're funny, keep it up and people might actually you." He walked towards Acer a little bit to not have to talk so loud. "I'm taking a horse through the sliver of desert that lays in the land. Face the real giant squid or face some heat, take your pick. I can get you an extra horse."
Acer got closer as well as he put away the amber. "I'm taking a boat, to the actual ISLAND, unless your horses can walk on water, have fun fighting the desert worms. I heard they're getting around twelve hundred feet this year?" Acer smiled, then turned to get on the boat, "You coming?"
Sighing, Griffon walked towards the dock past Acer. "Giant squids and sand worms, I am never living here."
"Worms don't even eat meat, they eat dirt," he muttered.
"When do we board?"
"Worms don't even eat meat, they eat dirt," he muttered.
"When do we board?"
Acer got on after, "Yeah, normal worms eat dirt. But I think they have twenty rows of teeth for a reason." The captain came up from an under area of the boat. Making it obvious it was ready to go. "I would say right about now."
