Acer opened a at the very end of the corridor on the right. It was locked, and only a member of the Giamminola family's retinal scan could open it, or by finger print and code. It lead to a staircase, and at the bottom was a three way fork in the road. The carpet was gold at the end of the staircase, ad Acer turned to face Griffon. "Food," he said pointing to the left. "Entertainment," he said pointing down the middle. "Or rest?" Acer said this as he pointed down the right.
Griffon took the right for a nap. He was a man of medieval, not technology unfit of his world. He looked back. "Where do I sleep?"
Acer went right down the hallway. Armed guards stood at both sides of a door at the end of the corridor. The bowed slightly before opening the door for Acer. They walked into a giant room with a massive bed. Everything was lavish and luxurious. In the room lied another door to the right. It led to a small but still fantastic room. "You'll sleep in there," Acer said pointing to the smaller room. "We'll be there in the morning.....so yeah."
Griffon looked around before speaking. "Thanks." He went into the room, threw his pack onto the ground by the bed, jumped on it, and went to sleep.
Acer looked at his lifeless looking body, "How nice," he said somewhat mocking himself. Acer walked out the door to his entertainment wing.
Griffon slept very well, and when he woke up he grabbed his back pack and left the room to the main room to see if he could find Acer.
Acer emerged from the game from the game room and found Griffon at the fork in the road golden carpet that lead to Acer's three private rooms. "Finally awake I see?"
Griffon nodded, he was wide awake. It was one of those lucky sleeps you get when you are excited when you sleep and wake up completely rested and alert. "What time is it?" He inquired.
Acer led him back to the door to the staircase, "Time to get going."
Griffon smiled. "Alright, I have two copper coins and a map. Let's go adventuring!"
The stairway led up to the main deck. There was a group of crew members waiting for them with what looked like supplies. "You ready," Acer said looking down, which made his hair cascade over his face even more, hiding his eyes.
Griffon looked at Acer. "Of course I'm ready!" He looked up, but his short hair went nowhere. "Are you, my friend?"
Acer smirked before turning to face the crew members. He walked over to the edge of the ship and looked over the edge. He saw that the boat was ready, which made him turn to face Griffon. "They'll lower you in one of the life boats." He pointed to the lifeboat next to him that had the sheet pulled off. Acer turned back and jump up to the boat's railing. He stepped overboard and fell straight like a board, landing in the middle of the speedboat, without making a sound.
"Well alright then." He climbed into the boat and waited to be lowered down. Being normal had its downsides when he had to take the long way all the time. "Show off!" He called down.
The crew members lowered him down, while the captain came from the top and waved a bon-voyage. Acer did a slight casual salute from where he sat without looking as a reply. "Let's go," Acer said as Griffon's boat leveled next to Acer's. Crew members still o the boat awaited for Griffon to alight it so they could press the button sending it back up.
A cautious exit took Griffon to the boat Acer was in. He nudged him. "Hey you got any carrier pigeons?" He looked around then up at the large boat. "I want to send back that cup I got, turns out it does work and I just happened to get it at a really cheap price. Don't want to lose it!"
"You want to put it back on the boat?" Acer said with an annoyed look on his face.
Griffon gave him a shrug. "I guess I can just hang onto it." He patted the pack on his back. "It should be safe enough!"
Acer dug his hands into his pocket and sat down as the motor started. He sat down and exhaled, "Don't you remember we need them at the island?" He clenched onto his lucky ring that he bought from the merchant. Acer cursed himself under hi breath, "The one day I forget my money..." He knew Griffon couldn't hear him, however.
"That was before I was no longer going to go through the desert." He waved an outstreatched hand across the horizon, showing all the water. "Water water everywhere but on the island there is a drop to drink!" He smiled at his word play.
