Gwynn doesn’t remember her father, or mother. Most records say Sirens are born from the depths of the sea, their father being whatever god of the ocean the humans worship at the time, and their mother being the water itself. Despite the lack of parental figures, Gwynn’s siblings are plentiful. Sirens live together in pods, as fish do, normally. This way, it makes luring fishermen and sailors to their death easier. The more Sirens singing, the stronger the effect of the song, and with ships holding crews of up to two-hundred men at times, there was plenty of food to go around.
Gwynn, however, as much as she enjoyed luring the men to their deaths, also found the life of humans fascinating. She frequently made trips to land, stashing some stolen clothes in the crevice between rocks on the beach, so that she could appear normal and travel into towns each time, transforming her tail into legs for the night. Often, Gwynn found herself in taverns, spending the day drinking with the humans and laughing with the humans, learning about their lives outside of the bar, before sliding back into the waters the next morning. She occasionally did find her way to the daytime markets, however.
Yet, these night time trips were what eventually caused Gwynn her freedom. Too intoxicated to care, Gwynn was coerced into giving the patrons of the tavern a song, and before she knew it, she had entranced the men of the tavern. When she stopped, and then men snapped out of it, the once happy individuals, who had treated her like a friend, turned to an angry mob. Gwynn was lucky to escape the town alive.
The next day, as the men continued to hunt of the witch creature who had plagued their town. They sent out boats and hunters, one eventually coming across the young, unsuspecting Siren. They captured her, entangled her with nets and hooks, and kept her strung up in the town until they could decide whether to sell her or kill her.
By some miracle, a sympathetic little girl came to cut her down in the middle of the night while the others were sleeping, and from there, Gwynn fled the town again, this time refusing to return to the water. They would only find her again. No, in order to escape the hunters that were sure to go after her, Gwynn had to travel far away from the waters she grew up in. She was a fugitive starting an adventure she wasn’t sure she was ready for.

I've had Gwynn here for quite a while but never quite got a good plot going with her character so I'd really like to try and start a 1x1 up with her.
Some things about me:
- I'm a current University student so course work and a part time job will mean I won't be able to respond constantly, but I try to get at least a post in every one or two days. If I'm going to be busier I try to let partners know, but don't hesitate to give me a little bump if I don't respond within a week.
- I've been RPing for about 8 years now.
Some things about the plot:
- This is a medieval-fantasy setting, but I would prefer Gwynn's new companion to be human.
- I'm looking for a male character for Gwynn to find herself travelling with. How this happens to come about is extremely flexible. It can be someone helping Gwynn out in her travels, someone who initially captured her but had a change of heart, or something completely different.
- I'm always up for romance, but it doesn't have to be part of the plot if you don't want it to be. If it is, though, your character must be over 18 because of Gwynn's age.
What I'm looking for in an RP Partner:
- A long-term, literate partner. I generally write anywhere from 2-10 paragraphs, depending on what I'm given, but I've found that it's very hard for me to stay engaged with less. Certain situations, such as heavy dialogue, will obviously require shorter responses sometimes, which is fine, but please try to keep it around 2 solid paragraphs.
- I please let me know any limits you have before we start!
- Someone who also likes to have OOC chats! They're good for planning out plot twists and sometimes I also just like to talk to my partners.
