I familiar with Rp and what it is, and have recently decided to branch out from my previous site. That being said, there are some key differences that confuse me.
Are people just supposed to have only a few characters they store and use/reuse with whatever Rp they come across?

Yes and no. There is no one "fixed" way to use this site; use it however you like.

For free, you get 10 character slots (but can buy more--the money goes towards the cost of Kim keeping it all running). The characters you make can be "stored and reused" in whatever short-term RPs you want to join/come across.

However, you can also use it for characters you use to join specific Groups--on the site or off (RPR is commonly used as a supplement to Discord RPs or Furcadia RPs). With this you can TAG your character with your 'Game Tag'/join the actual RPR 'Group' for that RP, etc.

You're also free to delete your character when you're done your RP/if you don't want to move it onto another RP. That frees up the slot for you to create a new character in its place.

I have seen people with SO many characters (hundreds, honestly) on their profile, so you can have as few or as many as you'd like.

AJ's got it. This site actually started out just as a place to store character profiles for use on other sites, since folks had issues finding options that were nice, easy to use, reliable, featured the right options... Our RP areas actually came after!
