Through the power of what I like to call The Curse I can break any computer in under a year just by existing near it. I switched back to PC so that when something broke I could replace that specific part and move on. Lo and behold, we're two months deep into 2019 and The Curse strikes again.
The details:
- this time I'm 99% sure it's an integrated graphics card issue because of the artifacting, the screen blacking out/turning green, the fan going haywire, and the sudden inability to play videos
- "why don't you have a dedicated graphics card?" because I'm a fool
- I checked for driver updates (nothing)
- the system seems to think it's functioning, but the system is also plaguing my screen with visual garbage, so I don't really believe it
- it's an AMD Radeon Vega 8 if that matters to anyone
- it's a new computer and I don't do anything particularly taxing with it, which makes me think it's either a manufacturing or installation error acting up
To be honest, I barely understand how computers work, so any wisdom you have to impart is appreciated.
