Hey y'all ok, real quick. Since this has been popping up quite the amount...

What does LM and LF mean? I figured it was like looking for male/female but...it might not be?

edit: i should use it in a sentence, sorry.

So, if someone says no LF or LM...then...what?

I'm not familiar with LM, but whenever I've seen LF, it's been just "looking for."

exactly! but ive seen LF and LM used in the same line, so....?

Hm... attempting to look it up, I'm seeing nothing that fits RP context, so... iunno. Gonna hand to step back and hope someone who uses them sees this, I guess.

Edit: I was trying to find an example for some context, but the closest I'm seeing is LFM and LFF, which would be "looking for male" and "looking for female." Where are you seeing this?

Google's giving me, for our possible context, lone father/lone mother or low fantasy/low magic. But I'm curious what those using it really mean...

LF & LM from what I've gathered means Live Female/ Live Male.

Or least that's what I've seen so far with the younger generation. However this term can also mean looking for female/male.

People find some model's face and use it for their character's profile.
Some people prefer live character models to make the rp experience seem more realistic. Others just like the look of a live model.

I thought that was a 'faceclaim'.

We called them played-bys where I came from. so "who's your PB?" is the same as "what FC are you using?" here. But I've never heard live female/male. It seems like, as opposed to what? Dead ones? (I mean, I assume it's as opposed to art or cgi or something but ... it just sounds kind of creepy).

I have only seen LF; which means Looking For; my guess is that if someone puts LM, they forgot the F in the middle. I've scrolled through the Looking For RP forums and haven't seen it once, so if you saw LM once or twice, it's likely that it was a mistake and they edited it to fix it.
