For as long as I can remember, the Anthem of Creation has been the source of the constant changes in our world, for better or worse; the Shapers who sought to use it crafted relics for that purpose, feeling that they could harness its power to create life upon a barren land. They were to finish in nine days; they only stayed for three. Whether something drove them off, or if they left on their own accord, I can’t say, but their unfinished work continues to evolve, to distort and reshape our reality.

Relics consistently unleash cataclysms that change the landscape drastically, the Dominion send their legions to use these relics for their own gain, monsters prowl the outskirts of the few cities we have, and everyday more and more Lancers fall to these and multiple other dangers. When I left Tarsis, I left to protect those people, my family sand friends, from the unspoken horrors of the jungles; I had to go alone to preserve the ones I loved.

Now, the Dominion are close to another relic, one that could allow them to enter the Heart of Rage, said to be the domain of the Anthem, and from which no one has ever entered, save for General Helena Tarsis, leader of the Legion of Dawn; but she’s dead, and the Freelancers that spouted off from them are dying off because of our inaction. Now I have to do something to stop the Dominion, the Monitor, from gaining this advantage; I just fear that I’ll have to do it alone.
