"Aw, c'mon May. You're makin' me sound like an old man, here." He put out a pretty good imitation of a pout for a few seconds before he slipped back into his usual smiling. When the second of the two comments passed his ears, he pointed without even taking a moment to think. "North by northwest. 'Bout two days travel from here. Actually, knowing us, we could probably make it in one if we traveled through the night." He, at least, was used to traveling and traveling fast. He was fairly certain that if they kept a good pace, they could make it without needing to stop too many times.
The two would definitely be able to cut the travel time in half. Bandit was a very swift traveler since she doesn’t tire very quickly and often doesn’t need to sleep for days on end. Such endurance isn’t needed for such a trip but it just proved that she could keep up. Though, who knew what could pop up along the way and stall them? Bandit was ready for such a trip and knew that they would have to leave soon if they wanted to make good time. “Well, old man, lead the way.” She said with a smile.
"Tch. Meanie." Was his only reaction to the playful taunt. He did, however, start leading the way. After a short stop by the smithy to pick up some scrap metal with the changing of recently earned coin, that was. Swinging the bag over his shoulder, he started them on the way out of the village. "To tell ya' the truth, I was actually on my way back home when I ran into ya'. Imagine my surprise to find you so close to my destination. Not that I'm really complaining. Thing it was destiny?" His chuckles suggested that the thought wasn't one that he put any stock in, but there was no way he was going to be traveling for a day and not make any small talk. It just wasn't going to happen.
“You suggesting it was fate that my mirror was snatched? Well, yes, I think it was meant to be.” Bandit chuckled as she walked alongside him. She was surprised that the crack in the mirror wasn’t causing any strange affects, but she wasn’t complaining. Stepping out of the village was nice, not that people made her on comfortable, but Bandit loved leaving a town off on an adventure. “What did you think of that feline woman, Tannis? I am not sure about her yet but grateful for her help in the Fortress.” It takes Bandit quite a while to warm up to new people.
Feeling comfortable getting into the groove of travel, he laced his fingers and planted his hands on the back of his neck. After, of course, making sure the sack of metal was secure against his back. "Tannis, eh?" He hummed a moment. The woman had been separated from them for a good bit during their little partnership, and he occasionally got the feeling she'd been hiding something. But..."Crafty. Someone to keep an eye on, definitely. But trustworthy, I think. She didn't seem like the type to turn her back on a mission without -very- good reason." He thought for a moment after the words were out, as he'd been using his little speech to sort through his own thoughts as well. That seemed an accurate enough description of his thoughts on the matter.
bandit nodded in agreement. It had been awhile since she teamed up on a mission with anyone other than Vahn and was pleased it went so well. The witch liked to keep to herself rather than seek out the company of strangers. Sometimes people are risks that have to be taken on. Bandit smiled to herself.
"I wasn't too worried she would try anything ... sneaky, not when we are a team. That would be foolish, huh?" Her grin was playful but yet serious. She wouldn't let anything bad happen to him and knew vice versa was true as well. Bandit walked at a steady and easy pace with her eyes up in the sky scenery. It was nice to just enjoy the weather and not worry about time.

"Well I don' know how foolish it would've been, but she wouldn't have gotten away with it for long, thas' for sure." Bounding a few feet ahead, he turned around and faced Bandit while continuing to walk backwards. There was no real reason for the action, but he was in a good mood and the fact made him a little more restless than usual. "Speakin' of foolish, how've you been gettin' along without your favorite fool followin' ye' about, hm?" His chuckle was as cheerful as ever, and his smile as infectious. The slight limp in his step looked slightly awkward, what with his walking backward, but he managed to keep pace without tripping fairly well. Moving in the dark, unlit depths of ancient tombs and the like lended itself towards learning to move without needing to look where one was going.
A grin formed on Bandit's face as she watched him walk backwards. She walked directly facing him, hoping that he doesn't trip. Her hands rested lightly on her hips where all her weapons were stored. Her smile showed her white sharp teeth giving her a silly expression.
"Things were most definitely boring." She made an expression to back up the teasing tone in her voice. "It was all I could do to stay awake most days." A small chuckle escaped her lips as the joke continued but there was a grain of sincerity in her violet eyes. She missed Vahn's presence while they were separated, but she was able to be off on her own adventures, too.
"I actually revisited the academy where I was trained as a child." Bandit locked her hands at the small of her back and looked up to the sky to better visualize the place of which she spoke. "I was the only girl amongst a bunch of aspiring knights, but I still managed to learn a thing or two. However, my old mentor passed away just a few short years ago. I visited his grave."

He chuckled, allowing the ego stroking to wash over him. He wasn't normally an egotistical person except in joking, but what few things he did well he was damn proud of; in this particular case, that happened to be his ability to lighten the mood and provide a joke or too to cheer people up. Still, he didn't bother to respond to the comments, and listening quietly while she continued speaking.
"Really now? I wonder if that old geezer that taught me is still kicking. I'd go visit, but I'm afraid I'd get chased out by mobs with pitchforks and torches." His laugh was cheerful, though there was nothing in his words or tone to suggest that the threat was at all untrue. There was a far-away look on his face, as though he were lost in memories. Shaking his head after a few long moments, he went back to enjoying the nice weather.

With her unarmed hand Bandit reached out and clipped Vahn's chin with her quick fingers. It was like a soft pinch, affectionate and silly. Racing past him Bandit charged up a steep hill for the thrill of it. Once she reached the top she placed both hands on her hips and looked down at the now small man. A wicked grin was on her face.
"I hope you don't mind." Her eyes twinkled with excitement. "But I invited an old friend for a quick visit."
The sky was brilliantly clear, very few clouds and breeze just strong enough to toss the witch's blue-black locks in the air. She raised both of her hands just a speck appeared from the west. The speck grew larger, blob becoming a V shape, and V shape becoming a dark beast high in the air. Only a mile out the beast let out a loud roar. Bandit smiled wide until her grin was more of an gaping expression of joy. It had been months since she last saw her feisty companion.
Rascal flew strongly downwards at a top speed of 400 miles per hour, then turning up to fly straight for his mistress. The large dragon swiftly took the hill in his large claws. Standing twenty-five feet from the ground he dwarfed the witch and his wingspan of one hundred feet tucked safely away at his sides. The black dragon let out a snort of flame and made a joyous whine only dragons can make.

"Mind? Why would I mind? The big guy was me buddy too!" He laughed in a cheerful fashion as he observed the dragon's descent. He made sure to stand clear, knowing first hand how violent a large dragon's landing could be. True, he wasn't entirely aware of how much control the dragon may or may not have, but he wasn't that reckless, most days.
With a shrill whistle, he signaled for Gwen. They were out of the city, now, so she could show herself without any problems. Besides, he figured Rascal might enjoy seeing the mechanical feline again. He wasn't sure of exactly how well the two got along, but they seemed to accept each other from the best of his recollections, at any rate.

Reaching up, Bandit pulled the large dragon's snout into an affectionate embrace. Rascal seemed to smile in his own way and in his enthusiasm stepped forward too far and knocked the witch off balance. Bandit fell straight onto her backside with puff of dirt shooting into the air. She stared up in surprise for a few moments before a large grin split her face. She hugged her ribs and laughed freely.
"Aw man, I missed you friend." The dragon helped her up with his snout and exhaled a gust of warm air. She could hardly believe there was a time he fit into her pocket. After dusting herself off the witch turned to see the return of Gwen; annoyance filled her mind. The feline had an issue with Bandit and the feelings were mutual. However, she chose not to ever act on her negative emotions.
"What a reunion." She said through a smile.

"Are you kidding? We're the most normal looking family there ever was!" Crossing his arms at chest level, he nodded with a wide grin plastered on his face. If he had any qualms about calling a dragon, a mechanical feline, and a witch his family, then there certainly wasn't any sign of it showing on his face. Kneeling, he ran a hand along the previously aforementioned feline's spine, drawing a contented 'purr' from the creature that sounded as though it were being replicated by sliding two sheets of metal together. "Ain't that right, Gwen?"
Unlike Rascal, who'd grown quite a been since the foursome had been together, Gwen hadn't changed much at all, on the outside. 'She' was the same size and same general shape; however, she carried herself quite differently now. Being that her personality was modeled on that of a cat, she still saw herself as Vahn's owner, if anything, but any jealousy at Bandit was at least being kept to herself, as of late. The feline was in a sitting position, staring intently at Rascal as though trying to figure out when exactly the dragon had gotten so big; a sort of detached curiosity.
