Just another conversation starter I suppose. The question this time is:

How do you have your personal room/your bedroom?

To make it easier if split mine into sections to describe

General: My room isn't entirely my room since I have to share with my little sister. We only have a two bedroom house, and there are four of us. So while it's not entirely my room, I don't mind.

Ceiling: My ceiling is a pale white with little bump patterns in it. Nothing special.

Floor: My sister actually chose our carpet! It's a bright blue with glitter sprinkled over it. I hated it at first, but it's grown on me. It doesn't actually look to bad!

Wall 1: My sister's bed is against this wall. There's a single poster on it, as there isn't much room for anything else since she has one of those high beds with a wardrobe and desk underneath the actual bed part. It's quite, and a baby blue. This wall is a beige. Though we have plans to paint. There is also a square cupboard which contains the boiler and our towels + extra planets + bed dressings.

Wall 2: This is the wall to the right of Wall 1. It has the door on it which is a pale pink colour. This wall is also beige, but we plan to paint. It has a set of drawers against it which are a grey-brown wood. On top of these is my little sister's TV.

Wall 3: This is the wall to the right of Wall 1. This wall has the window on it, and our curtains are are a golden brown Color. My sister's dollhouse is against this wall. It's a beige colour, and we plan to paint.

After the window ends, there is a new addition!

Today I started dedicating a wall to my world building. It has posters and additons I've made. It's still under very very heavy development, but I love the fact that it can be.

Wall 4: This is the wall opposite Wall 1. It's a beige, but we have plans to paint. It has my brown double bed against it along with a small storage unit. That's it.

*coughs* I'm in a weird mood...

My room is pretty spacey, at least, it feels like that, since I'd never had my own room till we moved a year and a half ago.

All the walls are a weird pale, golden tannish color, I wanna paint it, but that costs $$$
The ceiling is white, and it's got an old funky brown ceiling fan with that white marbly glass dome light. The door and trim is an old white. Both the white door, trim, and walls look like they've been "fixed up" with colors similar, but not the same, so it looks funky in places.
The carpet is light brown and pretty old, but works well enough.

Right as you open the door, across the room on the far wall, is a nice little closet with sliding mirror doors. Between the door and closet, along the wall, is my laundry basket and my mattress, it just sits on the floor, and it is usually covered in grey or dark blue blankets, don't have a frame, eh, they're expensive. On the same wall hangs an old American flag ('murica) and a piece of art that I spray painted, I would like to put a big piece of art right on that wall, but I haven't the time or energy currently.

Next to said mirror doors is a big white and black cabinet for my art stuff (I have too much) next to my art cabinet/dresser, in the corner, is my bunny's cage, who is staring at me, at the moment, then I forget he's blind... Lol.
In that corner are two windows, one above my bunnies cage and one along the other wall, in an L. They have plain white, rather dusty and broken blinds.

Along the next wall that runs parallel with my bed, is an old Cherry wood desk my Papa made years ago and an old blue spinny, creaky office chair is tucked underneath it. Above my desk is a favorite rock band poster. Next to my desk is an old bookshelf, also something my Papa made ages ago, it's very dark wood, almost black, and is very plain, but tall and full of books, games, figurines and toys. The bookshelf is turned so it equally touches both walls and eats my corner.
Something to note: I have a tiny file box, my skateboard, an old standing cardboard cutout of Donatello from that fabulous old original live action movie along with an assortment of cosplay weapons in between desk and bookshelf.

Along the NEXT wall. Omg yes I have 4 walls *gasp*. Same wall as my door.
Is the bookshelf's butt, *giggle* (I'm mature) a black and cream standing lamp, with a huge awesome, talking Captain Jack Sparrow toy/figurine? (It's a collectable.) This figurine sits on one of the lamp's shelves, the lamp is sorta like a cream paper box on black wooden legs with shelves under it, I love it. Next to the lamp is this long ass wooden chest my Grandmother gave me, she said it's for like, dishes and "linens" and other fancy things for when I get married. *Snorts* Its just extra toy storage and a seat at the moment. Above the chest is one of my Papa's old paintings (I love my Papa, he was awesome) and this, completes this very long and goofy description of my room.
My boyfriend and I moved in together at his apartment a few years ago, and then moved into the one we currently live in about 1.5 years ago. I got to decorate the entire apartment, choosing what goes where and why, colors of the walls and so on. Because money is limited, the place is far from done, with the living room being closest to done - mostly because we moved the furniture from the old place to the new. I chose a light, dusty blue to go with the white panels. The apartment is from 1899, so it still has the old stucco in 3/4 rooms. The furniture around the TV is oak-ish looking stuff from IKEA, and the shelf-system is the same thing. The shelves over the TV have our leather bound classics, and the one over my mom's old rocking chair has travel books and travel knick-knacks. On the walls we have a retro Moby Dick poster, 3 animal silhouettes(bear, moose, eagle) and an old map with latin descriptions. The living room also has a cream colored couch, with very mixed throw pillows, as well as cream colored curtains. One window sill has a bust of Mercury, and a pillow for my cat. The room also has a marble coffee table, that my boyfriend got from his grandmother, the "arabic corner" with my teapot from Morocco and shisha from Cairo, as well as a palm tree scratching post for my baby kitty.

I live in a townhouse. My living room is home to my chairs. Since I finally became a professional musician my basses and amplifiers fill my living room. My bedroom I have my bed and table with a notebook for poems songs. My closets and dressers are full of my favorite colors and colthes. Plus my favorite item I love collecting. So summery and enjoyable to wear.

My bedroom is quite small. The bed takes up almost all of it. My bed quilt was hand-quilted by my mother, and is really stunning. It always gets a lot of compliments when people see it :D Directly behind the bed is a half-length window (with dark grey blinds). I live in an apartment complex, and my view across the road is of a (very scenic I assure you) warehouse.

The carpet is also dark grey and very soft.

Beside my bed I have a small round table. I usually just have my phone on it, but when I get a bit lazy with the cleaning it can start to get cluttered.

Two of the walls have full length wardrobes. The sliding doors are mirrors. Since I live in a tiny apartment, they are a blessing because storage space is at a premium.

The final wall (the one you face as you enter the room) has two shelves installed on it. On the upper shelf I have larger books such as graphic novels, tabletop RPG manuals and artbooks. On the lower shelf I have some novels, and some gifts / souvenirs I've been given.
  • Mini Terracotta Warrior (Souvenir from friend's trip to China)
  • Mini Merlion (Souvenir from my trip to Singapore)
  • Mini Gundam Model (I built it with my Dad)
  • Mini Lugia Model
  • Mini ditto + ditto lapras from gachapon machine
  • Sailor Uranus from Blind Box (friend bought it for me for Christmas)
  • Plush Pikachu in Guzma costume (the same friend bought me it too XD)
  • Big pokeball terrarium with Jigglypuff (Gift from my brother)
  • Big black cat plushie (gift from my brother)

The ceiling and walls are white. There is also a ceiling fan which was recently installed. Well.. not that recently - maybe 4 months ago. There's a small hole from the installation process. My brother was the one in charge of getting the works done and he said he'd get a plasterer in to fix it, but that hasn't happened yet. So... that hole is still there :D
Your world building wall sounds really interesting!
I'm moving to a new place in about a month, so for the sake of posterity:

**I have a lot of bones and animal pelts. I don't get into much detail about them, but if you would find reading about those kinds of things upsetting do not proceed.

  • smooth white ceiling, brown walls. The paint is chipping in some places and it looks like it was pink at some point. When I first moved in the old tenants were such avid smokers of all substances that I had to scrub grey residue off the walls and it lightened them a shade
  • door jam broke, glued it back on
  • one ceiling light
  • there's two hooks over my bed. Don't know what they were for. I string Halloween lights between them
  • the closet has sliding mirror doors, which is great because I need to be able to see my tired visage constantly and from any point in the room
  • the carpet is blue but also grey because I don't think a single tenant has cleaned it since this place was built
  • one wall has a majority of the house pipes running through it and they make a lot of noise (I don't mind, it's just a distinctive feature)
  • I don't put up a lot of posters but I do have a Friend Art Wall, because a lot of my rl friends are artists and like to give me things
  • there's one window that doesn't let a lot of light in. I filled up the windowsill with jars of bone bits and other oddities. The blinds are broken so I just use it as a beam to drape pelts from (coyote and fox salvages, some antique mink, rabbit) as well as my college scarf that they gave us when we lived in dorms
  • the rest of my curios are either packed up or jammed onto a little shelf, idk I'm hoping to make more room for them at the new place. I have a mummified bat and taxidermed duckling that would look nice if they were actually out
  • my desk houses my PC. I put more natural history bits on it (rat skull, European starling skull, weasel skull, raccoon skull, some chunks of rock) and a tiny Pride flag. There's a rabbit pelt under my keyboard. Also usually tea/coffee mugs everywhere
  • my bed is crammed right beside it. I heap all of my textbooks there like a goblin. Need to get a bookshelf
  • my leopard gecko's 20 gallon is at the foot of my bed on two overturned crates
  • kind of sparse overall. I don't like having a lot of stuff because it's inconvenient to move when I have to leave
I think I have a decently sized bedroom, especially since we live in such a small house. The place used to be half of a pub down in... Either Victoria or New South Wales, not too sure. But essentially, my room is where the verandah used to wrap around the side, and thus I have weird, backwards doors.

But yes!

In one corner of the room, left of the doors, are some shelves with a bunch of nerdy, random junk adorning them. Things of note include my big red ball of light, a salt lamp, three amiibos (including my Toon Link one that doesn't work- EB you garbage company you), the porcelain doll that watches me sleep and like, eight five dragon statues.

Another thing in that corner of note is the house's fusebox and the Powerpoints of Actual Deathâ„¢. They spark and zap and I have very narrowly avoided being electrocuted by them five times.

I do not wish to anger them lest they get serious.

Right next to the shelves in the other corner is my desk! It has a few shelves of its own, except instead of nerdy stuff it's art stuff. Okay no I lie I guess artbooks count as nerdy stuff. Right now, I can't use it for art because my tv monitor is taking up most of the room.

Parallel to that is my bed! It's a dumb bed that rolls around and destroys everything in its path. Fear it, for it shall hunt ye down and devour your toes.

And finally, there's my dresser next to my bed. It is full of clothes and I've also hidden my possessed keyboard in there. Ssh.
Have some pictures instead!

I'm proud to show off my room. I moved my furniture around today, and I'm happy with the result. Got some thorough tidying done in the process.

I get antsy every time I enter my room if there's more than a pair of socks on my floor. I mean, I don't nitpick or spend hours cleaning everyday, but I feel better being in my room if it doesn't look like a war zone.

Also; guess who haven't vacuumed the part of the floor that's underneath her rug in a year!? I just sorta go around and over it. I pretend there's blank space underneath it.
