Yeah, I made this account just to advertise, sue me. I do hope I'm not stepping on any toes here advertising a roleplay that's not even on the site.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, allow me to present to you what I've been dealing with on and off for the last six months. A very gimmicky courtroom drama roleplay Discord server. We do scheduled trials, usually Saturdays 9pm UTC, and in the week leading up to it there's a whole investigation phase.
Our world is like no other. We have talking animals, normal humans, skeleton people, demigods, a whole continent where everyone is a pokemon, every single deity you can think of, vegetable people from space, entities from a higher dimensional plane, and even people from other worlds... The whole idea is that as a player you can make whatever character you want and I have to make them fit in the world no matter what. That in itself is pretty neat, right?
The way things work is, a player has to actively decide for their character to commit a crime, then inform me as the "game master" about what the plan is. From there, I can choose to throw a wrench in the their plan or let things happen smoothly. Then I hand out relevant info to the relevant parties. Witnesses get told what they witnessed, the defendant gets told how the plan went, etc. I then announce when the trial will be held, assign attornies, and provide private channels for investigation and interviewing.
You can choose between a variety of different roles, you can choose more than one for a single character:
Observer: doesn't even have to participate in the roleplay
Normal citizen: commits crimes, witnesses crimes, falls victim to crimes, normal stuff
Receptionist: handles paperwork for announcing trials, answers questions anyone may have about the court
Investigator: investigates crimes and drags criminals to court
Attorney: represents people in court, builds cases and stuff
Bailiff: maintains order in the courtroom and gallery, escorts witnesses to the stand to testify
Scribe: compiles the transcript of a trial
Judge: hears the case, moderates discussion, dishes out penalties to attorneys who break the rules, deals with verdict stuff, bosses the bailiff around
I dunno what else to put. If you're still confused about anything, you can read the google document linked below this paragraph, or you can jump on the server and have a look around, or you can just ask on this thread.

As I said, the roleplay is hosted on a Discord server. Here's the invite. I'm that bee with the red name. https://discord.gg/9DmvvQA

Magic may be accepted as truth but is not common. It might be harnessed only by specific beings. Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones.
Near future, perhaps cloning and genetic manipulation
No combat. If problems arise, players may be expected to solve it without resorting to violence.
