I'm trying to write a backstory for two of my characters and I'm having a lot of trouble sticking it all together.

I have a basic idea for each of them but I'm not really sure how to put everything together in a coherent way. Does anyone have any advice or pointers that I can use? Maybe some well written, detailed backstories that I can take a look at and gain inspiration from?

Hello there! Could you tell us a little more about the specific characters you have in mind? That would be the quickest way to help. As for general advice, I would say don't feel pressured to make a backstory especially complicated or dramatic if you don't want to; most of us have pretty mundane backgrounds ourselves, but they still manage to shape us into complex and nuanced people.

(Feel free to poke around my character pages if that would help-- they're not perfect, but they all have character history sections, at least.)
