I saw a post by Staticnightmare about long or short hair, and that got me thinking.
How do you peeps style your hair? Or like what styles do you have your hair done as?
personally, I have the sides of my head shaved and the top long, I try to gel and style it to the side. But, of course, there are bits of hair that simply won't listen no matter how much gel I use, or how much I brush them. Im convinced that even if I used hot glue my hair would resist it
also, I made this because the long hair short hair post felt like it was more directed towards the women, with this everyone can give their input

Mmmm I'm gonna contribute to this.
I understand why you would think it was directed to women, but it was also directed towards men my dad used to have long hair down to his knees lmao.
Around two years ago I got half of my head shaved.
And then as I mentioned before, I got it cut yesterday

It varies based on multiple factors.
But yeah, for length, I know tons of guys with long hair. *shrugs*
- Do I feel like doing anything with it?
- How long is it right now? (At its shortest, it spikes up easier than not; when longer, it will not stand for anything.)
- Is it already passably styled with, like, a hand wave?
- Am I going to be in a situation that requires a tidy appearance, or can I go wild?
- Do I want to aim toward a more or less gendered look?
- Am I going to be in a situation where my hair will be touched a lot, making products a bad idea?

I don’t do anything with my hair; occasionally a braid if it’s more practical but it hurts to put it up because it’s long and thick, so I only style it for special occasions, hahah
I'm known for having a hime cut (long black hair, straight bangs, shorter sides framing the face). Imo it's neat and tidy but still looks unusual for where I live (i.e: not Japan) so people seem to notice that something to it even if the effect is ruined when I walk around in jeans and gaming shirts in the grocery aisle. It's a surprisingly easy style to cut, plus my hair behaves well so it's all very low maintenance. The problems with it are that the length is hard to sleep with and the 'unusualness' makes it slightly work unfriendly.
I like my hair as long as possible so I only trim it occasionally to ditch the split ends. I have natural curly hair that forms loose ringlets which I love so I don't touch it with any treatments. Honestly I try to keep my air in a virgin state by not coloring it, or blow drying it. I have the standard bangs and keep my hair down most of the time and don't do anything to really style it.
With my hair, what you see is what you get.

Well right now i keep my sides short and my top thick. I sometimes throw a little wave and spike my hair to give a wave look but other than that I'm simple. Unless its a really really cold winter then I grow my hair out and pony tail it.
My hair’s pretty long, but I only wash it a couple times a week because it’s color treated af and getting touch ups is expensive. So I usually wear it loose the day I wash it, but it gets gradually more tied up (half-up, then pony, then braid, then a super-serious business lady bun) the grosser and more oily it gets
As a dancer, I am required to wear a bun for dance class, competitions, and recitals (I don't really like it though. Too many bobby pins that are shoved into my scalp). And I also have long hair, which makes it a bit easier to put in a proper ballet bun than short hair.
But, outside of dance, I prefer to have my hair down. Of course, my hair is very wavy and a hot mess 80% of the time, so I like to straighten it. That doesn't really take too long, actually. It is a pain in the butt to brush though, as my hair gets tangled easily. Especially when I don't straighten it.
I also prefer an over the shoulder braid, but consequently, it makes me look a bit like Elsa. A low ponytail works fine too. If I don't have my hair down it's really just styled however I feel like it.

I like to define my hairstyle as these two words:
Literally my hair:
