Too bad the world is about to end.
In our modern era, deities of all pantheons are fading out of existence as humanity marches on towards a godless age.The foolish mortals insane enough to realize this recognized it was a pedestal to barter for power with the once mighty masters of the universe; the Gods' dependency on mortal worship now in favor of the governed as leverage. But as always, hubris was the catalyst to the End; not only to man's downfall, but that of the world as we know it.
Across the world, mythologies and their pantheons have long been passed down through the ages, beginning with their creation stories and ending with their prophecies of destruction. The Gods and the tales of their powerful feats were once regarded and revered but as humanity grew independent of ancient beliefs, the old deities have long lost relevance and power. In its ignorance of the legends of old, humanity overlooked a key detail.
All myths, pantheons of beings and beasts, are apart of the same universe; and the Armageddon each prophesied is one and the same, the true end of the world.
THE GOOD NEWS:
The Gods are very much real, and in the height of their worship, they even interacted and intervened among humans.Your character has been mysteriously chosen by a five gods from the same pantheon as their vessel, pouring the vestiges of their power into you as a last resort.
When making your character, you may choose the mythological pantheon of your choice; your character should come from the same region your pantheon is based. When you do, you will select five gods of that pantheon to create the primary powers of your character. A sixth god will be chosen for a single extremely powerful ability that can be used only under the worst circumstances; its use should have consequences on your character as well.
You may choose however your character interacts or communicates with their gods, but have fun with it. Channeling their abilities into your character is a connection between god and mortal. They will experience what your character does, seeing life from the point of view of a mortal in the 21st century.
We are looking for 3-4 more people for this RP. Norse, Egyptian, and Aztec mythology have already been chosen.
THE BAD NEWS:
This is all to prevent the end of the world. It began when one foolish mortal who summoned and made a deal with 7 gods from different patheons, each one the worst of the worst of their mythos. And in bad guy fashion, rather than channeling their powers to their mortal counterpart according to the contract, they totally possessed his body instead; repeating the process until each evil god had his or her own possessed mortal body, creating an alliance of evil deities to bring about Armageddon and reclaim the ravaged world as their own.
Once you have chosen your pantheon, you will designate the antagonistic god of your mythology.
These villains aren't the only thing our characters will face. The mythical beasts of legend lurk about too.

Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.

More combat than not. The setting may be at war, and the characters will likely get involved whether or not they seek it out.

Having almost complete control over the earth (or any world she stands on for that matter), she can manipulate the ground and sea and sometimes even the sky (thanks to her father, Zeus). She can even alter gravity to an extent.
But if she is going to have the powers of 5 other gods, then she will have the powers of Gaia, Zues, Poseidon, Apollo and Ares.

Markon, with the Breastplate of Atheleos, first of the Kings of Atrana, blessed with the toughness of stone and the light wieght of leather.
Oceanos, with the Shield of Seas, wielded by King Lyseron in his final hours, gifted with mirrored surface of solid steel to blind and see.
Eleva, with the Cloak of Seasons, worn by the Gathpriest Mendron upon his holy pilgrimage to the Risen shrines, granted the power of persuasion to ask only what is true.
Ethera, his Step-Mother, with the Crown of Kings, worn by Atheleos and those of his line, semmed with the power to see truth and lies, and to have vision when all light has fled.
Veering from my dramatic reading, his age really depends on the roleplay; perhaps 24 should suffice?
His greatest foe, the Fallen Lord Netharan, seeks to claim the world as his own, though he cannot enter himself; thus, a vestige to bring about his own ends.
