Am I the only one who takes forever and a day to write their new character's profile? I seem to notice that I particularly dread writing the history and pick up the pace once it is done. Is their any part of the profile that you really don't like having to do? Are you the type that loves making the profiles or one of those who considers it a necessary evil?
I personally love writing profiles. If I have a name, just a random name, I can make a physical appearance based off of the name, and from that I can create a personality and a backstory and all that other cool stuff.
I particularly like the biographies because I get to crack open my head and let my creative juices flow out- once I'm on a roll I'm on a roll.
I usually spend weeks on mine. I am also not much with writing histories/backstories as I always end up having writers block. (yay) Even so I still try to give a little about their life.

My favorite part is making the design of the profile in general. Creating a unique site for each of my characters is always fun. :3

I don't have trouble making characters, I just hate actually getting them written down. xD
I absolutely love thinking of new characters and editing their profiles n.n It's become a personal hobby :')
I hate editing. Sometimes I catch a typo and I'm like "NUR" cuz then I have to go through the entire thing to find it again.
It really irks me when I find out I've forgotten something about that character. Minor detail or a large part in their character, it doesn't matter. I have to go back in and fix it like it's life or death for that character.
I know all there is to know about my character, somewhere within the confines of my thoughts. Sometimes, they do surprise me, but I hardly write anything that is not their physical description. I allow other characters and players to know what the character looks like, and I purposefully limit others from their entire history, as that would be far too long to read and to write, and it would offer an understanding most bizarre about the character.

I did make an exception, for my dearest Tannis, whom wrote a journal after having it been suggested to her, and I have made her profile the most appealing to others by practicing organizational coding. I do tend to edit her journal after most things worth writing down happen, but my finals have been distracting me from my playing.
I've come into the habit after years of making character after character to fit in a decent amount of information about the entity developed and their backstory. This was a habilitated process from the time I spent developing my RP skills on Yahoo! back when it was 'good' say, oh, a decade ago maybe? I would have made a character fresh out of the cognitive factory and of course some people would want to test their mettle against it and find themselves in quite a bind, or following the more casual plot(s), something about the character turns up and the other person doesn't like it. Needless to say, I've been constantly screamed at "BUT THATS NOT IN HIS PROFILE!!" So, time and time again I eventually just started mounding detail after detail. Quite frankly, I like making new characters for that reason.
