I'm thinking of getting some custom templates. I have no idea how to create templates myself so I fully intend to commission someone, but I have to confirm whether or not my idea will work first: Is it possible to create a custom template that lines up page names with say, books on a shelf?
I imagine you'd see the spines of the books, they'd be lying down instead of propped upright, and the book titles would be the page names. I planned on coming up with silly book titles that correspond to the pages, but lining up the page names with the books would a bit troublesome so I was thinking of writing the "titles" directly on the books/background image. The page names would just be filler nonsense like "....." that spans the length of the book, assuming that wouldn't be too hard to click. Unfortunately, I don't know if it would line up for different resolutions and I'm almost certain that it'd break for mobile users, so my whole idea might be trash lol.
I do have some other ideas if this one is utterly impossible. Thoughts?

Yeah, that could be done. The best balance of easy/consistent/multi-platform would be to have the same image of a book used as the link background for each navigation item, but it's not that much harder to pull off a set. Depending on how it's sized and positioned, it could still end up looking weird for some, but that's mostly just because of limited available to test variances rather than a certain issue.
Thanks Nova! I have another question now, lol.
Is it possible to have an animated background or picture somewhere in the template itself (not the profile)? How much would this potentially slow down the page? I'm thinking something very subtle, not flashy, obnoxious, or distracting. Probably just one of my characters standing in a field with a gentle breeze blowing her hair or whatever. I may even go for something as small as a candle flickering.
