Binx stood immediately, back arched, tail straight. He withheld the hiss that he wanted to make because he felt it might be rude. It was just the demon's shift in presence that had unnerved him. Pixy stopped chewing to watch Regaris' reaction, just in case it was something more than a pain. She swallowed the food half chewed, eyes on his face.
"Are you alright?"
"Are you alright?"
Reg smiled apologetically. "Sorry to startle you from your nap." he said to the cat. To Pixy's question, he nodded. "I'm fine. Minor pain, that is all. It happens." It wasn't even the demon causing harm, to be exact, but there had still been a shift in the demon's presence.
Reg was less than willing to explain the cause of his discomfort however because he knew it would only make them try even harder to convince him to get rid of the thing.

The cat sat back down, but his tail switched behind him restlessly and his pure red eyes stared Regaris in the face. he knew something was up, but he wasn't saying anything.
Pixy relaxed marginally and went back to her food. "As long as you're alright."

Regaris nodded once more. "I'm fine. Thank you for your concern." His hand went back to petting Binx, trying to calm the cat down. "It was just a momentary pain, that's all." He scratched Binx under the chin a little, trying to get the feline to start purring again.
As usual, his appetite had left him. It happened all the time when he got such pains. He simply sat and pet at Binx.

Pixy put her fork down, she felt like she was the only one enjoying herself and eating. "If you say so." She avoided eye contact and wiped her lips clean. "Do you not like your food?"
Binx was relaxing under the weight of Regaris' hand, but he was not breaking the stare.

Regaris chuckled a little and shook his head. "The food is fine. I tend to lose my appetite for a while when my arm hurts, that's all. Don't worry, I'll be hungry again soon." He looked back at Binx, focusing on the cat, before he just sighed. "You are not going to look away unless I explain, are you?" He frowned a little. "I'm seeing a downside to having a cat."
Binx purred and his tail switched behind him. If the feline face could manage a smile, it would be right now. "You're a smart man, aren't you?"
Regaris chuckled. "Yes, I am. At least, I like to think that I am." He leaned back against his chair and watched the cat, then turned his eyes to Pixy. "I hope I'm not keeping you from your work, Pixy." He smiled gently at the female.
Pixy's ears fell back. Her tail had been sedate around her ankles for a minute or two before he asked. "Work can wait. My associates can handle any proceedings going on at the moment." She twitched an eyebrow in slight irritation as she knew the man was avoiding the explanation still.
So did Binx, but he was less subtle with his reminder. The cat flexed his feet and dug in his claws into the man's lap, seeking his attention. He narrowed his eyes as if to say, I have not forgotten.

Regaris flinched as the claws flexed into his lap. "Easy now, Binx! Otherwise you'll lose your comfy seat." He looked back at the cat, then sighed. "You are ridiculous, you know that? Pesky little feline." He shook his head a little. "The demon is being held in my arm. Not my entire body, my arm. It makes it much easier to control the thing. But to confine the demon to my single limb, it takes an intense amount of spells. Spells that are rather...detrimental, to one's health."
He spoke calmly, though he'd never told it to another. "In simplest terms, my arm is slowly deteriorating."

"Is that what that smell is?" Binx began to clean his front paw, cracking a joke to play Regaris' admission off nonchalantly. The cat was apparently an effective means of gleaning information. Pixy digested the information in silence, her eyes steady on the man before her. She chose not to add to the conversation, as Binx was able to carry it well enough.
"How long until you're arm is completely eaten?" Binx spoke around licking his fur.

Regaris smirked and nudged the cat gently, playfully. "No, I believe that's you." He thought over the question that was given by the cat. "Hmm...I can't exactly say. It varies depending on how hard the spells have to work to keep in the demon. If it keeps on a steady course as it has been, however, it should take a few years. It is slowly degrading, not quickly. I figure by the time that happens, I'll have transferred the spells to my other arm."
The cat had moved onto his back now and twisted around to lick his own shoulder blades. "So you're going to just keep moving him from limb to limb until what? You're just a torso, or a head?" He stopped his bath and turned to look at Regaris again, his strange feline eyes aglow with a knowledge animals do not possess. "That seems quite fruitless, don't you think?"
Pixy suppressed a smile at her companions blunt nature. "Now Binx, don't be rude."
The cat grumbled audibly and looked to Pixy, "I'm only saying what we're all thinking."

Regaris chuckled softly. "By that time, I hope to have found a better way to hold him in, or perhaps banish him altogether. This is currently just a way to by time." He was quiet for a few moments, thoughtful. "Naturally, the process will most likely destroy myself as well, but as long as it gets done, that fact doesn't bother me at all."
He chuckled lightly. "If I could kill it just by killing myself, I'd have done it long ago. But unfortunately, that would just let the thing be free. Depending on my cause of death, it might even give him control of my body." He shrugged calmly. "I don't mind Binx. He can speak what he likes."

(( It took me a minute to find what character I was playing with because I was looking for Binx... Fail...))
"Why not put him in someone else's body?" Binx had finished his back and moved onto his stomach: unashamedly splaying his legs and licking awkward areas. Ah, to be a cat. Without pause or looking, her addressed Pixy next. "We can do that right?"
Pixy had been zoning out, in fact. She was going over all she knew about demon possessions in her head and trying to remember the excerpts from her book. "Hm? Oh... I guess we could do something like that."

((LOL))
Regaris shook his head slightly. "I wouldn't put this curse on anyone else. Besides, it takes a strong body and even stronger will to keep him in check." He lifted an eyebrow. "Why so eager to dump this problem on someone else, instead of me?" He chuckled a little bit and just shrugged. "I'm fine. Truly, you don't have to fuss. I'm dealing with this just fine."

"... moved on from denial to acceptance..." Pixy spoke low under her breath so only Binx's ears might pick up the sound well enough to decipher it. She closed her eyes tightly and placed her napkin on the table. Pushing back her chair, she got to her feet and offered her hand to Regaris.
"It was nice having lunch with you, Regaris, but I am afraid I do need to leave now." She had no pressing matters to attend to, but she was eager to leave his presence just then. The housed demon was in fact causing her to lose her appetite.
((We needs more plots!))

Regaris stood up as well. "Alright. I'll see you later, Pixy." He shook her hand, then would let them both leave. He would also head out, there were some things he needed to tend to. After all, keeping a demon in his arm wasn't the easiest of tasks.
((You asked for it... X3))
Late that night, Pixy would feel an unmistakeably evil demon presence. But it wasn't coming from across the hall. No, it was in the nearby alleyway. There was a sickeningly sweet evil aura that covered the alley almost like some thick fog. And standing far in the back, hidden in shadows, were a few figures.

Pixy had been dozing on her bed, Binx curled on her chest when the aura hit her. She twitched awake, dropping the cat to the floor.
"Oi, what's the big ide---" Binx cut off his angered onslaught when he caught the feeling as well. The feline pair got to their feet and were rushing out the door in a manor of fevered minutes. Pixy was so drawn to this sickening presence, she hadn't opted for silence when she left her room. She was soon on the streets and following the feeling like a blood hound.

One of the figures dropped, crumpling to the ground in an obviously lifeless manner. A glow came from one of the shadowed figures. From its arm. The presence shifted, attention obviously turned to Pixy as she intruded. The shadowy figure smiled, light glinting off sharp, fanged teeth.
"Aren't you sweet?" it purred, a dark and demonic voice. "Maybe just a bite..." A hand reached towards her, and it was as if the aura was zooming at her like it would knock her down! But the glowing on the arm flashed, and the shadowed figure pulled back with a pained hiss. "Spoilsport.."
