Luis Chevre (played by Cathmor)

Plot
For years and years, the human race has always been at the top of the food chain. They cut down what they please, they kill for pleasure, breed to consume, and tighten nature's creations into tiny spots. However, that changed over two years ago when animals rapidly gained intelligence, vegetation grew at an enormous rate, and within the next couple of months, the death tolls began to rise. Animals were bursting from their cages, pets were killing the ones they supposedly loved, plants were stretching over the cities and knocking buildings over.
First, they attacked the higher-ups, then the electricity was cut, crops stopped producing, and then there was the panic. Humans have sunk to their lowest, and now your characters must work together and survive this dangerous world.
Note: It would be best if everyone came from the same town, just so we can get easier interactions.

Rules:
- No powers! 100% Human just trying to survive this post-apocalypse world.
- Make sure your character isn't invincible.
- Feel free to make your own conflicts, but make sure it matches with the storyline.
- This roleplay will contain violence and animals getting hurt. You may have romance but everything over PG-13 is not allowed. (Typical PDA is allowed)
- At least 3 sentences please, but a paragraph is preferred!
- Your character may die if you wish it, and it is encouraged if you plan to leave the roleplay.
- Multiple characters are allowed, just take what you can chew.

Hidden under a truck, Luis studied his surroundings, searching for any signs of life nearby. He had just made it to a nearby gas station approximately ten minutes ago but he had heard a howl from around the block. It was one thing to hear an occasional bark, but an actual howl gave away a pack of angry dogs. They must have picked up a scent, and he could only hope it wasn't his own.
Ten minutes later and there still wasn't a sign of any movement. He grunted to himself and clutched his knife tightly in his hand as he inched forward along the blacktop. He pulled himself out from under the car silently and hurried towards the entrance of the smaller building. Being out in the open like this had him feeling naked, like something or someone was breathing down his neck. Perhaps it was death itself.
Unease.

It's been a little over two years already since this whole fiasco started, but Matthew Cohen still couldn't shake the feeling of completely unease - it was suffocating him. It was not as if the man doubted his skills in the slightest - he survived this long, so that clearly says something. What bothered him the most was that he never really knew when he would be forced to rely on said skills. Afterall, nature was literally all around, even moreso now that majority of human constructions have been taken over by the forces of nature.

In a sick, twisted way, Matthew found everything amusing at the same time. Two years, and every time he opened his eyes, the situation still never failed to amaze him. It was like something from a movie or book series - only real and even more terrifying. He was still unsure what kind of mutation occured to transform the once docile environment into a huge game of man-hunt.

Matthew was forcibly dragged from his thoughts back into reality upon hearing a low, threating rumble. It was the sound of a large canine, perhaps a wolf. Or maybe it was a dog. The mutation managed to turn even the most sweetest of creatures into bloodthirsty demons. Well, whatever it was, Matthew did not want to know. His heart rate quickened when he realized just how close the sound was. The young man held his breath and shuffled backwards a bit, further within the shadows of a seemingly empty alley way. He was pressed against one of those big green trashcans. It wasn't the best hiding spot, he knew, but at the very least his back was not exposed to any dangers.

Matthew patiently waited for the growls to fade away.
