The awakening knights, up this early, looked to the girl and some made subtle motions, but the female knight held up her hand to the side, approaching the horned girl. The knights talked amongst themselves, preparing what smelt like breakfast, while others sharpened their blades with whetstones.
One of the knights shrugs his shoulders, “You think they could have sent a little girl?” The other knights seem to pause to consider this, and an older knight shakes his head, “Don’t be silly. The youngin’s don’t have the ire.”
The female knight stops in front of the horned girl, her stature upright, while her face remains stern. “Gulg is due west from here, north of Igros.” Her hand places itself upon her hip, her eyes glancing up and down the horned girl’s visage, “You look like you haven’t slept. Do you have something worth getting lost in the woods for?”

Seems Mr. Black, the instigator of that riot a while back, had spent an inordinately long among of time in those back alleys. Some time back, a rather loud scream had issued forth, alongside the crackling of what seemed to be electricity. What in Ivalice could have been transpiring in those dark passages amongst the buildings?
A good while ago, Mr. Black had run into something. It was practically pitch black in there, and considering the entity he had encountered was also of such coloration, it was nearly impossible to see what he was soon to find. His eyes had adjusted enough so that he could note the entity seemed formless, almost as to a cloud, but it was still to dark to make any definite deductions. Not that he would have time to continue observing, as the entity lunged upon the hapless merchant like a beast waiting for it's prey. Almost as if it had been lying in wait for Mr. Black to arrive.
Back here in the present, the merchant turned his head to bring the gnoll addressing him into his view, and spoke with a voice heavy with seeming exhaustion, and some sarcasm.
"'Tis an exquisite night, indeed. Busy one, at that."
He returned to his task, now being to make his way out of the alleys, and eventually out of the city itself. He didn't seem to be all there, actually; something seemed wrong about him, somehow.

Several appropriate curses flitted through Vannah's head as it became clear that the body was dead instead of living. The gnoll language was good for cursing. Instead she settled for just muttering "Well balls" and shaking her head. Her eyes flicked to the darkness around them and her hand closed around her new sword's hilt. The killer could still be nearby. Nodding her head to Lambert, he smiled slightly and murmured "Keep close" as she led the way down another alleyway.
By the time they reached the docking area with the church so close by, the gnoll woman was getting suspicious that nothing had gone wrong.

Silindra wondered who the "they" that the one knight spoke of could be, but she knew better not to ask. She bowed her head to the female knight as a sign of respect and then thanked her for the directions before saying. "It is true that I haven't slept, but it can't be helped. I can assure you that I would not have entered those woods if I a lacked a good reason for doing so. You see I had heard rumors that a few missing members of my family had been spotted around Glug and I have no other choice then to see if these rumors are true. Family is everything after all."
Once again, her lies contained a good deal of the truth. It was true that a missing member of her family had been seen near glug. Of course once again she made it sound like the family members in question could still be alive when that was very much not true. She hoped that this answer would be enough to satisfy the curiosity of the female knight so that she could continue on her way.

((Eh? I never said he was dead, Mr. Black is still very much alive! Or did I misread that? Also OH NO NOT A COMPLETELY OOC POST AGAIIIIIN))
Mr. Black is alive, yes, but another merchant lay still against the wall; a body that they had passed. Mr. Black is the second...third merchant to be seen in the area, Mr. Lambert being the first~}
Mr. Lambert nods to the gnoll's words, and Tannis's speckled-white ears stretch upwards, her hazel gaze drifting to what lay behind them, which was the empty alley-way, with the merchant corpse. From the gnoll's side, another merchant, Mr. Black, approaches from the side. The gnoll's spot check allows her to so see him!
{Mr. Black's post.}
Tannis's form slants, her head tilted back as she looks to the newest merchant, "I would say so." Then the merchant left and Mr. Lambert watches him leave, saying, "I...think I've seen him somewhere..maybe not." He shrugs and points towards the looming building, "Just past those alleyways and we'll be at the church in no-time."

The female knight looked over the horned girl's form and stared into the woods, "At Gulg, hmm? That's far from here. The plains and the woods between here and there are filled with untamed beasts." A slight wind rustles from the forest's direction, the long locks of blond hair along the knightess's head drifting slightly, "Plenty of families have been lost at that volcano. You will be lost before you get there, if the day-beasts are about. They scare the goblins away, forcing them to hunt by night."
The knight looks down, at the horned girl, "Travel safely." She turns around, her hand still on her hilt, and she strides back into the center of the encampment.

Silindra replied calmly with. "I'm used to traveling in the wilderness as I have several years experience. I may not know this area, but I know the tricks to ensure that I won't end up going in circles or to find civilization if I must. Thank you for the directions and I wish in your in your endeavors."
With that she started walking west, feeling better now that she knew which direction she needed to travel in. She knew that all she had learned while traveling with the nomads would prove invaluable in the journey to come.

The knight-ess looks back, watching the horned girl leave the area and travel back into the woods. Another knight, sitting near a smoldering fire and a cooking pot, stands up and also watches the horned girl leave. He steps forward, raising a hand to scratch at his face, "You think she's gonna be alright?"
The knight-ess turns her head towards the man in armor and the red/black half-cape, "We have other things to worry about. Start waking up the late-risers and secure the area. I want two men up the cliff-edge, and three watching the creek. The rest can start building the defenses."
The male knight salutes and clacks his sabatons together, turning around and entering the tents of sleeping fellows.
The horned girl would re-enter the woods, the sun shining through, in small pockets of open canopy. The ground floor was still mostly dark, and the pools of water reflected what light found its way to the dips of land.

Danger Dice, in the morning.
"Well let's hurry it up then" Vannah said, eyeing the other man intently, but seeing as he didn't seem to want to kill them all that was fine for now. Instead she hurried them on forward, encouraging them to pick up the pace until they reached the presumed safety of the church.
Before Silindra entered the woods again, she took out her lantern and lit it once again. Then once inside the woods, she would take advantage of the pockets of open canopy in order to keep track of the sun and thus ensure she kept roughly in the right direction. As she moved, she kept her hand on her dagger in case of monster attack. She had no attention of being caught off guard as such a mistake could easily prove fatal out here.
Mr. Lambert nods softly, Tannis swinging side-to-side, her crossbow held within both her hands, being lifted up at odd intervals and propped against her shoulder.
The land between the church and the city of Dorter was a slowly inclining, and upon nearing the faded cobblestones outside the monastery’s grounds, several crates were stacked, almost packed, into the ground. Orbonne Monastary was settled upon a peninsula of land, its large wooden doors with bronze decorations running horizontally, above and below, the heavy bronze and ringed door-knob. The roof was highly slanted upwards, the material looking faded, but sturdy, in its early-morning teal. A black cross jutted outward from the very top of the monastery’s roof, casting its shadow on the ground below as the sun rose. Near the back of the building, what appears to be a wooden pathway, sticks out, into the water. The large, paned window, above the door, shines idly when the sun hits it.
Mr. Lambert points towards the monastery as they near it, “There it is, just a little further.”
Tannis’s hazel gaze follows the man’s finger, her head turning towards it, “There does not seem to be anyone following us. Best we hurry though, lest that changes.”
The group crosses sunken land between Dorter and the Monastary, Mr. Lambert’s pack jingling and clattering together. His breathing becomes labored, his right hand lifting to wipe at the sweat off of his brow as he jogs, walks, then stops, hunched over on the cobblestone walkway, a few yards away from the monastery’s door. “Hu--hu--ff..ugh. I haven’t ran that much since I was young.”
Tannis’s boots thud lightly upon the soft ground, the green dress around her legs swishing idly as she moved, the fiery locks swaying wildly behind her. She slows to a stop and curls her curved lips into a smile, her chest rising and falling idly. She turns her hazel gaze to the sun-lit Dorter, then back to the gnoll-lady, “See if the door is open, I shall watch for others.”

{Now the horned girl has a lantern? Makes a person wonder, as to why use a torch when one is carrying a lantern~ Any-who, a post!}
The horned girl, and her somehow procured lantern, make their way through the woods. The ground and trees shone in the lantern's light, but as she walked, the lantern's luminance dimmed, as the other edge of the forest grew near. The sun shone inwards, revealing to the horned girl the city of Dorter. A few smoldering fires could be seen from where she stood, and the sounds of normal city life were apparent, though, only in some sections of the city. The middle of Dorter was offly quiet.

[She had a lantern from a while ago, but a lantern is hardly hardly going to frighten a pair of goblins now will it? She used the lantern the lit the torches which she fought with.
"She quickly picked up a branch that was lying down on the ground next to her and used the flame from her lantern to set the end on fire."]

Vannah jogged along with the others easily, smiling to herself as Mr. Lambert was left breathless after the brisk run. She'd been born on the savannah. Running was in her blood. A little jog like this was no problem to her! And soon enough the crossed the streets to reach the monastery without incident.
Her heavy boots clomping on the cobblestone, the gnoll woman waved a hand in acknowledgement of the redhead and, smirking, approached the door. Idly, she wondered how Tannis managed all this in a skirt? They drove her nuts at the best of times and she personally couldn't manage without trousers of some sorts but meh. As long as they didn't hold Tannis up. She seemed too competent to trip over them and fall on her face. Maybe. Shaking her head, she sauntered up tot he front door and tried the knob.

Oh, that is correct! She did use her lantern to make a torch! I remember this~ Carry on.}
The stone-arched doorway and its heavy brass knob stood before the gnoll lady, its bronze decorations seemingly polished. The circle-knob created a dull thud as it was lifted and brought back into the door's surface.
An elderly voice from inside answered, but what it said was unclear. A shuffling of robes brings the voice closer, a slight humming sound rumbles out, and the door-knob was fiddled with. The door to the church is slowly pulled inward, wrinkled and frail hands at the inner door-knob.
As Tannis and Mr. Lambert approach the gnoll lady's back, the door is fully opened, held at bay, by a small, and very old, lady. Her eyes squinted, her face wrinkled, her hair neatly trimmed, and her robes white, with red triangles along the sleeves and the bottom of the robes. She answers, looking slightly over the gnoll lady's shoulder, "Yes? Have you come to visit me again, grand-daughter?" She notices Mr. Lambert and Tannis (who twiddles her fingers as a greeting), "And you brought friends, how lovely. Will they be staying for tea? Oh, where are my manners, come in, come in." The little old lady and her bent form, turn around and shamble back into the monastary.

Silindra was once again back in Dorter, but at least not in vain. She had managed to help a chocobo and got a few items off those goblins that she could sell. Sure it would have been nice to keep them, but potions and better equipment were more important. After all, you can keep fighting with a status condition, but not if your dead.
She was surprised to see a few fires and hear absolutely nothing towards the middle of Dorter? Had something happened while she had been gone? Well regardless, any place where there might have been trouble, wasn't somewhere she wanted to be. She really couldn't afford to be seen by that Hokuten knight that she had lied to earlier since it would be harder to get away a second time.
So with that in mind, Silindra wisely chose to travel in the city's shadows in the attempt to avoid attracting any attention. Her destination was the shopping district and she hoped that she would be able to find what she needed.

The horned girl arrives in the middle of Dorter, the shopping district, however, yesterday’s bustling activity was moot. A few men stood around, on the sides of the street, casting their eyes on those that walked by. They were rough looking and carried sheathed weapons, decorated with the familiar white lion. A few merchants walked the streets, some pushing carts that looked to be holding corpses, one having a fellow’s arm hanging limply, dangling as the cart’s wheels rolled along the cobblestones.
From the nearby alleyway, the horned girl could spot the once-closed book shop, but the door was lying on the inside of the shop, the walls and the roof having been degraded by a fire, glass from the large window strewn out along the streets, where a few merchants stepped over or upon it, seemingly without a care.
