Well. This was certainly awkward.
Vannah's ears pricked up and tilted forward, her head cocking to the side in confusion at the sight of the elderly woman. Glancing back at Tannis and Lambert, she shrugged her shoulders slightly and followed slowly after the elderly woman. "Ah ma'am? There's a bit of a misunderstanding here" she called after her, taking the lead and stepping into the temple first, keeping her eyes open and peering about the for signs of threats. This was a monastery but it never hurt to be cautious. "I'm not your grand daughter...but my friends and I are looking for sanctuary. There's trouble out in the streets tonight. An angry mob. Some already attacked us. We were hoping that we could stay here for a while..."

Silindra was surprised to see the place so empty compared to what it had been just a day ago. She was also shocked to see the cart carrying corpses and counted her blessings that she had been out of the city when whatever had happened had occurred. She was also saddened at the sight of the now ruined book store and whispered a prayer to the kind bookkeeper who had once worked there.
Yet she also knew that there was nothing to gain by lingering here and thus continued moving through the shadows searching for a shop from which she might be able to buy what she needed.

The doorway led to an outstretching structure, a red carpet, and marble on either side of the carpet, mahogany-wooden railings on the edge of the platform. The furthest end of the platform was rounded, and the large, paned windows on both sides of the building allowed plenty of light in. Past the platform’s furthest edge, in the back of the chapel, was a large, tall cross-like statue, illuminated by the circular window above it. The old lady treads softly and slowly upon the red carpet, moving to the edge of the platform, before turning around to the gnoll-lady, her eyes squinting greatly, “Hmm?” She moves closer to the gnoll-lady, her old, wrinkled hands taking the gnoll’s hand in hers, her thumbs sliding along the fur there…”Oh…” Slowly withdrawing her hands, a sign of worry crosses her facial features, “You’re welcome here, dear, for as long as you want. I’ll brew us some tea.”
She shuffles to the edge of the platform and descends in a spiral, the stairs at the edge of the platform becoming very obvious. Tannis’s hazel gaze drifts to the gnoll-lady, her expression subtly shifting, a slight frown upon her lips, “Hmm…” Then her hazel gaze snaps to the old-lady, her bare-feet carrying her along the red-carpet, “I can help you brew the tea, please.” The old-lady shook her head as she descended the stairs, “Oh, no no, you just relax with your friends. I’ll get the tea, don’t worry.” They both descend the stairs and move to the left of the platform.
Mr. Lambert watches them move, his gaze glancing at the gnoll-lady, “What if the bandits find us? Think you can cover that large door?” His hands slide along his large-pack’s straps, soon pushing outwards with his fingers and loosening the pack, letting it slide off of his shoulders and rest on the carpet.

Vannah supposed that the old woman must be blind. Or at least have eyesight problems. "Thank you ma'am" she said politely, nodding her head. "We won't be any trouble, I promise."
Looking about, Vannah spotted a bench pushed along the wall and made her way towards it. Passing Tannis she caught the look on the normally carefree red head's face and slowed her pace, turning her head slightly to watch her hurry after the old woman. Though she didn't sense anything wrong, if the other woman did then the gnoll woman was certainly willing to listen. Glancing around again, Vannah continued on her way to the bench and sank down upon it, frowning herself now.
When Mr. Lambert approached to join her at the bench, taking off his pack, Vannah considered. "If bandits do come I'd like to try to hold them at the door" she murmured to him. "There's no real choke points in here so we could get swarmed. If anyone comes near I say we barricade the door. That should stall them and give us time to go out the back.

Near the upper parts of Dorter lay the larger shops, and a particular shop was open, filled with different types of gear and clothing, all cloth though. Clothing racks were filled with robes and leather outfits, a few hats donning the top of the rack. To the right, misc. items were stacked carefully; the potions and phoenix downs in their own piles, separated by slabs of wood. Straight ahead, a man with a neatly trimmed mustache, wearing fairly nice attire, waves to the horned girl, “Come in, come in. Anything suit your fancy, just let me know.”
Silindra looked around the shop and was drawn to the robes section. She started leaving through them before stumbling upon a lovely blue robe. The robe was blue, but parted in the middle of the skirt to reveal a white undercoat. It had a white sash around the waist as well as a string of light blue bead around the waist as well. The color blue itself also struck a cord with her. "Blue...My life is now nothing but blue..." She whispered quietly, yes the color would definitely describe her nicely right now.
Yet....she didn't think there was any way she could afford the robe, but she might as well see what the man wanted for it. "Excuse me sir, first I would like to sell a few things." With that she took out the three items she got from the goblins. "Second, how much is that blue robe over there?" She then pointed to the desired robe, but was careful not to let him see how much she wanted it. If he knew that she really wanted it, he would be likely to raise the price of it, making it even more unlikely that she would be able to afford it.

The old lady nods to herself, walking down the spiraling stairs, slowly. Tannis’s form walked beside hers, her hazel gaze upon the older lady, her left hand being held onto by the shriveled hand of the old lady. They reach the bottom of the steps and move off to a room along the left wall, underneath one of the large, stained windows. Tannis opens the door and steps aside, letting the old lady in before she too, walks in.
Mr. Lambert lets out a soft sigh as his large pack hit the bench with a solid thud, his shoulder being gripped by the opposite hand as he slowly rotated it. “Yeah? You going to keep watch, then? It’ll be hard to know when somebody’s headed are way, if the doors are shut.” Mr. Lambert’s hands and arms switch places, rotating his other arm and looking towards the door, “I don’t see a lot of furniture around here.” His arms move to rest at his sides, his hand moving upwards to rub his fingers into his temple, “It’s likely all down stairs, and I’m not the best at moving furniture.” Then his gaze moves towards the stairs, “What about the priestess? Bandits aren’t exactly the nicest of people, when it comes to older folks.”

The merchant drummed his fingers upon the countertop, his steady gaze watching the horned girl admire the robe. His eyebrow twitched, slightly. “Is that so? Well alright. Put them on the counter, and we’ll see what you have there.” If the horned girl complied, the merchant would pick up the two vials and hold them up to the lantern light, swishing the liquid inside, then setting them back down. Nodding to himself, he turns over the echo grass, before nodding to himself again. He looks up with a “Hmm?” His gaze follows the pointed finger, and he opens his mouth, “Ah, yes, the linen robes are perfect for the weather around here. The robe is 1,200 gold coins. I can also pay full price for these items, for a total of 300 gold coins.”
While everything else had been transpiring, Mr. Black was busy. He was planning on leaving the city, likely something to do with that dark entity he had encountered some time back, but wanted to stop by his old home first. He arrived at his abode...only to see that it was nothing but ashes now. Seems it had fell during the riot, and in the center lay two charred bodies. The strange thing is that he didn't even shed a single tear, rather......he smiled. CLEARLY that being had done something dark to Mr. Black, as he was no longer himself at all.
With that ominous bit, he makes his way out of the city at last, and with an strange sort of determination he set out for the west. There's something he seeks there, and his search just might take him to a certain city.

Silindra placed the items on the counter and allowed the merchant to examine them. When he said the price of the robe, she was disheartened, but not surprised. Even if she sold the items, the total would only come to 375 gold coins, not even a third of what he wanted for the robe. There was simply no way to come up with the other 825 gold coins which was more then a week's salary for her if she was lucky. Well there was nothing to do about it, but buy some other supplies then.
"I see. In that case, I would like to sell those items and buy two potions instead." Yet even as she said those words, she looked at the robe with a wistful expression before pinching her wrist to snap herself out of it. Oh well, it didn't matter anymore if she showed her fondness for that robe now that there was no chance that she would be able to buy it.

Vannah grinned at Lambert reassuringly. "Don't worry, I'll keep watch" she said. "I'll let you now if it's time to run like mad." Her eyes turned back to the doors appraisingly, and added "Though it would be hard to barricade them. Hm. Well we'll think of something." At the mention of the old woman she frowned and considered the point. "We may have to take her with us" she said slowly, not altogether pleased. A elderly woman could slow them down badly, ad this wasn't part of her ob. On the other hand, what could they do? Leave her to bandits?
The merchant behind the counter nods, twice, "Alright. Hey, Ignus, fetch a couple potions from the back!" A small boy, who was busy kicking his feet off of a crate, while sitting and reading a book, puts down the book and scampers off towards the storage area. He returns with a potion in each hand and sets them on top of the counter, returning to his idle reading once more.
The merchant bends down and picks up a few bags of gold, placing them in front of the horned girl, "Your change." One bag held 100 coins, the other, 175. " The merchant takes the other items from the counter and places them underneath. He then straightens back up and places his elbow on the counter top, gesturing towards the door, "You know, I hear the bandits have some large bounties nearby. And with their recent sacking of the city, they have lots of coin to spend. I bet you could buy a whole bundle of those robes, if you find them all."

[Umm potions were 50 each correct? Shouldn't the bags contain 100 each? The other 75 coins are already in her bag from her earlier ingredient selling.]
{Seems my mind thought that some item was worth more or less, somewhere. The Either is 200 gold, the antidote 50, and the echo grass 50. So it should be 3 bags of 100 gold each, minus 100 gold, for the potions.}
Silindra took the potions and listened as the merchant mentioned the bandits. The girl had grown stronger from killing those goblins and she knew that she needed to grow stronger still. Fighting bandits would help her do so and help her obtain the money she needed for proper equipment. Yet she would need a decent weapon as one dagger wasn't going to cut it.
She grabbed the money and then headed to where the staffs were. She pulled out a simple white staff with a single crystal on the tip of it. While there were better staffs there, especially a blue one that would have fit the robe, she knew better then to think she could puff of what she was about to do with one of those. She pulled out the alchemy book and removed the reports that could be about her mother before pocketing them.
Silindra then headed back to the counter, placed all the money she had and the book on the counter. "I want to borrow this staff and I would be happy to leave this money as well as my book as collateral. If I don't make it back, the money and book will cover the price of the staff. Then if I do, I'll buy the staff if it's been damaged at all as well as a robe and that blue staff in that back. One can't go bounty hunting without a half decent weapon after all."

The merchant watches the horned girl go about the store. He strums his fingers along the countertop, until she places a staff in front of him. The merchants face draws back, as the horned girl talks, his eyebrows rising slightly. Then his lips curl upwards into a smirk, and then he laughs, his hand patting his side, "Oh, girl, that was a good one!"
His right hand lifts up to rug beneath his nose, his mouth still smiling, "Now, I'm not new to magic casting, but if you wanted to kill yourself, that would do it. White magic is stored in these staffs, and I hope the bandits that you plan on attacking feel sorry for you and keel over, cause healing them isn't going to work. Now, what you need, is a rod." The merchant points behind her, to a barrel of what looks to be a few solid, short, wooden sticks, with various heads made of various stones.
The merchant leans ontop of his countertop, "I guess you're not desperate for money, just greedy, so I'll let you have one of those rods, half-off. I'm sure they'll just sell it back to me, anyway." The merchant smiles, "Should you consider living, I'm sure the bandits could use a magic caster like yourself."

[Umm she wasn't trying to get the robe, she was asking to borrow the staff when I meant to say rod I guess. I haven't played the FF games for a long time so I just thought staff. xD Anyway what she was trying to do was ask to borrow the rod and then when she got the bounties, she would be back to buy a robe. She wasn't trying to take a robe with her to get the bounties tho.
{Post edited to emit the robe part! And do not worry, Silindra is young; she's allowed to make mistakes~}
Mr. Lambert gives an off smile, “Hey, thanks. I’m not as handy with a sword as I used to be. And that’s saying something, as I’ve never practiced. I just sell them.” Mr. Lambert’s lips form a frown, his hand lifting to rub at his neck as he stared at the wide door, “Mm…” His right hand moves to rubbing his finger and thumb just underneath his nose, his eyebrows pinching together in thought. “I wouldn’t wish death on anyone, that’s for sure. But should it come to a choice, I know which one I’m going to make.”
