On a related note, I'm your 1/5 for slugperson repaired weapons. I kept thinking if I kept giving them hats I'd get nifty loyal patron rewards.

No, just one every time. If you're not pretty darn loyal to one of them over the other, they give you nothing extra at all.
The third clue can only be revealed to someone who has crafted at least 20 times, but less than 30 times.. You unlocked this clue!
