The Lord's eyes rest upon Pulchra; without missing a beat, he waves his hand dismissively at her. "Yes, yes, what you do to it after you show it to me - if it really exists, that is - is none of my concern. You will be filled on the details later, and will join us for dinner, so you can speak with the victims and their relatives. Now go." Their mere presence seems to be bothering D'Auvers, who probably has other, more interesting and important matters to attend to.

Aleria, who has been very silent so far, finally speaks again. "As you wish, m'Lord.", she says with the due reverence, bowing deeply. She takes a few steps back and bows again, and only then she dares to turn her back on the Lord, to leave the room.

Pulchra, inwardly, was quite delighted at that even if she did not quite fathom the dismissive attitude. If he was not concerned about what had happened, why were they summoned? And the meal, what gesture was that if he did not believe? She followed Aleria's pattern of retreating from the room, although it was only when they were well out of earshot that she asked the woman a question.
"Why is it that he seems to show so little care for the matter?"
Sylass (played by Pirate)

Sylass had caught on the king's dismissive manner. He didn't seem to care about their presence at all. He didn't voice his complaints yet, though the look he gave the king said enough.

The Lizard groaned."This was waste of time. King don't even care for us. Why show respect if king doesn't honor it!" He spoke in an angry manner.
The cheetahfaun struggled not to raise her brows curiously at the lord's behavior, and it takes a little pressure against her tongue not to let her say something about it. Giving a quick bow, she turns about and follows the rest of the group out of the room. It is only then that she unleashes her tongue, though her voice remains quiet.

"Mayb' 'e doesn't think it really exists, or isn't tha' big o' an issue. A lord's got a lot o' shit on 'is plate, y'know, wit' all tha' day-to-day politickin'."

Once outside, Aleria seems just as confused - and bothered - as the rest of the crew. She nods in agreement when Lauren speaks. "Struck me as a skeptic. We'll see." Of course, there are other possibilities, but none that she wishes to discuss in such a crowded place.

"Either way, his feelings on the matter shouldn't make much of a difference. Oh, and by the way, lizard." At this point she looks up at Sylass, cracking a smile. "I wouldn't take it personally. As far as we know, we were just called so the other nobles would stop bothering him with their complaints. Maybe this is all just a wild goose chase."

She shrugs. "Too early to tell. I say we wait until this 'dinner', and then we'll try to figure it out."
Gnaea (played by Yuka)

Pulchra aahed quietly at that. "Are there any expectations or rules for this dinner?" While she was no stranger to formal events, it was always good to know the finer points and intricacies from culture to culture that could make the difference between offending someone and blending in.
Sylass (played by Pirate)

Sylass scoffed at the thought he'd be here for nothing."Still. Sylass dislike that behavior. Man of his standard should return interest." He spoke. But then the thought of more rules crossed his mind when Pulchra spoke."More rules. Great."
Finding herself to be a little more upbeat at the reminder of dinner, Lauren allowed another one of her fang-filled grins to spread across her face. "Goose chase or not, I'm up for a mostly free meal b'fore we get things sorted out an' start th' 'unt." The 'faun folded her arms over her chest and leaned forward a little, still bearing that stupid grin as if she expected someone else to agree with her on this point.

The redhead is quick to correct the lizard. "Man of his standard, Sylass, do as they please. As for manners..." She brings a hand to her chin and lets out a 'hmm'. "No, I don't think so. As long as we don't do or say anything too stupid, we should all be fine."

A bit more at ease now, the paladin rests her hands on her waist, looking at the others. "Now, I say we split up and go our merry ways, and meet up at the dining hall later. At least one of us should ask around in town, too. See if you can find out anything, but if you don't, that's probably fine. How does that sound?" She doesn't really have a plan, but she at least manages to sound like she's not winging it as it comes. Which she is.
