Draken901

You are an inhabitant of an expansive northward island, filled with craggy forests, high cliffs, cold rivers, and frozen norths. The main village (Vallan) which you have been a part of, or have lived near all of your life has just been ransacked and most if not all buildings burned to the ground, and it's inhabitants killed, except for you. By none other than the sorcerer Adryn which lives on the mountain in her keep, and her army of strange summons and undead. For the longest time, she has kept to herself, and the village had prospered when she offered her scarce attempts at good will or help in trying times. Until now.

You heard it coming from the mountain, where she resides. An unearthly choir of voices echo and proclaim that the mass sacrifice has sufficed, and the ritual will be complete in seven days. Whatever this ritual is, it's certainly nothing good. And with no help, no armies, and no governing bodies nearby, it seems it is up to only the survivors to stop it.

In a quest of desperation, you must go through the forests, ford the rivers, and maybe even cross a coast or two to finally ascend up the mountain and stop whatever is coming. Revenge or personal reasons be damned, if such an infernal ritual gets completed, the world might be worse for wear than it already is now. Time's a wasting, better get going. Godspeed.

Welcome to the first installment of LIGHTNING ROUND, the RP design that is meant to be quick to take part in and be easy to respond to. Now, you might be asking, what's different about these RPs compared to others? Well, that's all listed below! Take a look:
- Post Length Limits: This is somewhat adaptive based on the situation. In essence, this RP has a post length limit of three college level (five to seven sentences.) paragraphs. Both the players and the GM/DM (me) will be expected to obey this rule. (on special occasions, the DM may break this if they think it is in the best interest of their players.)
- Grammar and Post Minimum Leniency: This RP has a post minimum of two sentences. If the players feel that they cannot contribute to the current situation in the RP, they may ask to be skipped if they do not want to or cannot write anything. Also to keep things moving along, commas (') may be ignored entirely.
- THE FIRE MUST BURN!: You know what kills RPs? Posts slowing down to a crawl and everyone losing interest mainly. In order to combat this, the players (and DM) must be able to post at least once per day. (if not more so.) Of course, this is purely expected, but not enforced. It's okay to have a few off days every now and then. But keep this in the back of your mind always. The longer you wait, the more likely someone won't be into it anymore.
- Assumption Is Truth: Three paragraphs may not be enough to fully convey different settings or scenes, so feel free to world build and add stuff to the terrain which makes sense to be there. Make sure it's within reason however! We don't want a wizard pulling a railgun out of a berry bush!

Well, if you think you're up for this, and ye can manage the rules rather well, here's the requirements, extra info, and extended details for the RP below:

- Time Period: The time period is equivalent to early renaissance, however the island that you are on is still rather primitive technology wise. Medieval-grade weaponry and armor would be more prevalent than things like matchlock guns and full plate. However, it's not unheard of.
- Superstition & Fantasy: The world is strange and supernatural. Wargs roam the forests, shadows creep through the night. And the users of magic are treated with awe, suspicion, and even fear. With power comes cost, and that cost is up to the user and their magic to decide. Using their body's energies, utilizing their own strength, draining themselves of blood, meditating on words of power, or transcending forms or mutating to achieve arcane prowess. It matters not. But what matters, is that there is no such thing as a free lunch.
- Roles: The players take the roles as village folk, or people who have lived nearby to it and are affected by the burning and killing all the same. Farmers, woodsmen, florists, herbalists, guardsmen, the warden of the guard, the lord of the village, mercenaries and knights, ship-bound passerby who got unfortunately caught up in the killing, and the now fortune-less merchants. The hermits, monastic monks and priests, witches, warlocks, abominations, alchemists, occultists, and sorcerers which live quietly inside or out of the city, for better or for worse. All of these are prime examples of characters which would fit in nicely with such a setting.

How you survived the merciless onslaught? That's entirely up to you. Perhaps you got lucky and stowed away in a damp basement. Maybe a gift of grace spared you and you awaken from under ashy rubble. Perhaps you took shelter in the lord's keep or guards barracks which were made out of stone. Perhaps you just saw the smoke in the distance from where you were hunting, or maybe at the doorstep of your woodland home? It matters not. What matters is that you all will soon hear the unearthly choir, proclaim their date of doom. And with no near way off of the island, it's either the sorcerer or you.

If you have any questions, please post them below. And if you are interested in joining this, please post below as the character you will be playing as so I can see their profile.
Magic 60%
Magic may be accepted as truth but is not common. It might be harnessed only by specific beings. Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones.
Technology 30%
Renaissance
Combat 50%
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.

Details: Freeform, concise post-length, one-off scene.

Dulirn (played by Juls)

Would Dulirn be too powerful for this story? (Check the 'Early Adventures' tab)

If he wouldn't work, maybe Rook?

Yeah, he'll work.
Dulirn (played by Juls)

Great! Looking forward to it! :)
Finally a fast paced RP, medieval fantasy!
Can we multi character?
Draken901 Topic Starter

Maybe, show me the characters you're going to play as please.
I’m interested; count me in.
Draken901 Topic Starter

Nice. One more person and we can get started.
By the way, which character would do best for this? I was thinking Arun-Ja, but I’m open to other suggestions.
Draken901 Topic Starter

Arun-Ja could fit.
Arun-Ja (played by Arcol)

Then he shall be my choice.
Draken901 Topic Starter

If we don't get another bite soon i'll go ahead and close it so we can start.
I would be greatly interested but could you review Ruslan to make sure he’d be suitable for this?
Wait what role is Arunja playing?

I'll put Toyle as the local lord around him

We'll be able to discuss more via pms, but I'll go ahead and close this since we got our four peoples.
