Austin whipped around, pointing his gun right back into Leon's face. A second later he rethought it, set the gun down, and pulled his pistol from his holster, turned around and shot a zombie in the face.
"I'm with the government. I'd recommend you focus your attention on the actual threat here, instead of the guy protecting two boys in the middle of the zombie apocalypse."
He stared into Leon's shades, his eyes steeled. If he wanted to be the strong and silent type he could totally pull it off.

Leon stared back suspiciously as Josh poked his head back into view like a meerkat.
"Leon! Leon, don't kill him! His name is Austin and he's really nice! Don't kill him!"
Sanderson spoke up for the first time, as she had been watching the two men cautiously. "What happened to Randall?"
"To be honest, I dunno. Did we hit something?" Josh asked, the question directed at Austin. "I'm really confused right now."

Austin's eyes didn't move.
"Josh knows what he's talking about. We were in a car accident. I don't know how it happened but we flipped. I think something was on the road. Either way, we need to get in your little survivor camp or we're all dead meat- Literally."
More walkers came, attracted to the noise.
"Grab Randy here and let's head back to the base. We can settle our difference there. Deal? Okay cool."
And just like that Austin tossed the rifle up to his hands with his foot, and popped off single shots at zombies' heads.
"I'll cover you guys."

Josh climbed out again, helped Sanderson wrench open Randall's door, and hauled him out. Sanderson checked his pulse real quick (more of a reflex than anything else) and handed him off to Leon, who scooped up the scrawny boy like a kitten.
"I swear, I get another two grey hairs on my head whenever I see you two boys," Sanderson sighed, pulling her handgun out again. "C'mon, let's get back before we get swarmed. I'll check you three over then."

Austin waited for everyone to get moving before he followed up in the rear, taking out walkers who got too close.
Sanderson led the way, taking out a few zombies along the way. "ANTHONY!" she yelled, "OPEN UP!"
Anthony nodded, leaving the wall momentarily to open up the gates.

(Skip, Austin's just shooting up zombies)
(Okies)
"Well, he's fine. Just out for the count; probably has a minor concussion. Nothing to worry about, I don't think. Boys his age bounce back quickly."
Sanderson smoothed Randall's hair back, turning to Josh next. "Now would someone mind telling me how on earth you managed to crash on an empty street?"

Austin had been dragged into some room and left there, waiting for who knows what.
"Hope they bring in good cop/bad cop or Batman or something soon. I'm hungry."

(LOLZ! GOD, I LOVE AUSTIN!)
"I don't know," Josh mumbled, looking around. "Now where's Austin?"
"I have no idea, sweetheart. I'm just a medic."
Anthony walked into the room where Austin was being kept, followed closely by Leon. Anthony was obviously not a threat; he looked more curious than anything. Leon, on the other hand, was looking downright deadly. He leaned in the corner with his AK-47 on his shoulder, more for Anthony's protection than anything else.
"Anthony Goodeall," he introduced himself as. "I heard you're Austin."

"In the flesh," he sighed exasperatedly.
"So, what do you want to know?"
"So, what do you want to know?"
"Well, mostly we just want to know two things: where the heck you came from and how the heck the Tank got demolished on an empty road. We're kinda clueless right now," Anthony replied, an eyebrow raised.
"I'm afraid that's classified. We were driving down the road when I saw something in the road. I don't remember much but I swerved, hit a walker, and the car flipped. Josh can back me up on this. Hey, do you have, like, a bagel or something? And maybe my watch?"
"Huh." Anthony shrugged. "Yeah, sure. Lemme go get Sanderson; she's normally really anxious when it comes to feeding people- HEY, SANDERSON!"
"Could you be any more tactful?" Sanderson sighed as she walked across the street to the building. "What's up?"
"Look this guy over, will ya? I'm gonna get him a bagel. Make sure Leon doesn't kill him."
"Will do." Sanderson walked inside, gaining a nod of greeting from Leon.

"Y'know, guys, I could be working out an elaborate escape plan involving the deaths of at least five expendable extras and knocking Mrs. Sanderson here unconscious. I'd have to watch out for Leon, though... Hm. And get my watch. That's important."
Austin reluctantly let the doctor examine him. He had a few cuts on his forehead, bruises everywhere, and his right arm had a few cuts on it as well when he used it to shield himself from the crash. If she looked closely she's see mechanical parts instead of blood and flesh. He'd try to draw attention away from it, but that would most likely fail.

"Ha! I'd like to see you try," Sanderson muttered, trying not to smile. "I have a needle hidden here in my coat and you really don't want to meet it's contents."
She proceeded to clean Austin up, muttering to herself about his "underfed state" and the fact that he'd "be in better shape if he had just worn a seatbelt". At some point she noticed his arm; she pushed her glasses up her nose and shot a questioning glance at Austin, although she kept silent about it. She wasn't going to blow his cover if he didn't want it blown.
Leon was still in his position in the corner, absentmindedly taking the clip out of his gun and slapping it back in, taking it out, slapping it back in, and repeating the process over and over.

Austin returned her gaze with an innocent look that "Who, me?"
"Actually, ma'am, there weren't seatbelts in the car. But I suppose you weren't supposed to know that."
He allowed her to continue her check-up. "Am I gonna have to say 'Ah?' I hate having to do that. Every time someone sticks their stupid Popsicle stick down my throat I have to fight the urge to gag. I always fail."

"I'm going to kill those boys... No, honey, you're fine," she said, sitting back. "Mostly just external damage, and it's nothing major. Just scratches and bruises; it should heal up in a couple of days. I highly doubt there's any internal damage, but you tell me if anything starts hurting, got it? Good."
"Yes'm." Austin nodded at her request.
"Now, where is Anthony? I need that bagel."
"Now, where is Anthony? I need that bagel."
Right on cue, Josh practically flew through the door (he still moves surprisingly fast even with a limp) and tacklehug/glomped Austin happily, Anthony following behind holding a bagel and looking amused.
"YOU'RE OKAY!" the younger exclaimed gleefully, as he hadn't exactly had a chance earlier to confirm this.
