Ember nodded, taking in the correction. "Alrom is not Liefthous' close.", and finally noticed that he stood up, quickly joining him after getting her cup of drink from the floor.
The woman looked at the man and his cup-less hands and decided to get him a replacement. Grey orbs blinking friendly at him, she walked past the male and towards where the table of many cups of drink was. Making sure to avoid the area where his drink spilled, not wanting to 'get herself killed' by it.

Lief watched her leave, exhaling silently. He folded his arms, drawing a short breath as he leaned somewhat against the wall. His mind quickly went over their conversation, searching for mistakes he had made.
He couldn't sense any, and he sighed in relief. His cheeks faded into their normal color, and he allowed his gaze to drift from face-to-face around the room. Perhaps he did wish to know where Aleron was, even if he refused to believe it.
He shook the idea from his head, lowering his gaze to the ground.

Ember made it to the table and put her own cup down, putting it in the corner as to not confuse it with any other cups of drink. The woman picked one that was empty and didn't smell of anything and looked at the drinks. She picked one from a bottle this time, the warm orange color looking more fun than other drink she originally had, hoping to surprise him with it. After pouring it and putting the bottle back, she grabbed both their cups of drinks, and made her way back to Liefthous.
Once she was close she blinked again and offered him his new cup.

The thief raised a brow, slowly taking the cup as he peered at it. "And this is..?" He was curious, a sly grin creasing his lips. He swayed his hand, speaking with a joking manner. "Look, I understand I must've frustrated or irritated you at least twice, but no need to poison the drinks, Ember." He chuckled, raising the glass slightly.
He would look back at her, his ears perked as another smile flickered across his face.

"I would never!", Ember exclaimed with a huff after, a mini glare sent his way before she continued, eyeing the drink. "I do not believe the Hall would offer poison for cup of drink.", she observed with little doubt in her own statement. The chances were low but she felt a tinge of worry. It didn't smell too foul when she poured it so...
"It is fine.", she stated again with a sip of her own drink.

He nodded, lifting his glass to his lips. He took a stip, half of him expecting to choke, and the other half deciding it was just any other drink.
He swallowed it, blinking. He was completely fine, though the drink was strong and he winced as it burned his throat. He laughed, lowering the cup. "I'll.. be fine without it." With an apologizing simper, he set the glass alongside his feet, careful not to knock it from its place. The foul taste was lingering in the back of his throat, and he scrunched his nose before returning to his usual smile.

Ember looked to Liefthous and to the drink a few times, a little disappointed that her surprise didn't work. "It does not taste good.", she concluded before snapping her head to the man in a slight panic. "It is not poisonous.", she got out quickly, just beginning to unravel herself from her lax position to make a break for something to help.
Lief looked up, waving his hands. "No- No. It's fine, Ember." He smiled weakly, leaning back. He shrugged and flipped his hair, exclaiming, "Toxic beverages don't mix well with my bloodline, and I'm afraid I've had one too many beforehand."
He nodded once and propped his heel against the wooden floor. The Hellion occasionally glimpsed at the woman, though he didn't speak. For he had nothing to say, to begin with.

Ember's eyes went wide. "Toxic.", she stated, nerves going a little haywire. She looked at Liefthous' brief smile and calm nature; questioning if it really was toxic. He didn't seem phased at all. The red-head picked up his cup of drink and still couldn't pick up any smell of foulness, causing even more confusion for the female.
With a small but silent huff, she took a sip as a test. It was...foul, but not the foul she was expecting nor she associated with some type of poison. Not wanting to spit it on herself or on Liefthous, she forced herself to drink it and it hurt her throat a fair bit. With a few 'pehs' she wiped her mouth with her arm, sticking her tongue out every now and then.

He blinked, his unfamiliar accent becoming more audible as he panicked. "Not, toxic-toxic, just.. What are they called..?" He tapped his foot, his eyes sparking as he recalled the word. "Alcohol! I'm not s'pposed to be drinking said toxics, but.." He shrugged once again.
He grinned as he watched her try the beverage, raising his brows as he recovered a normal accent. "It's not good, is it?" He was asking in general, since his demon-like senses seemed to get in the way of certain things.

Ember 'pahed' one more time, wincing from it. "It is not good...", she agreed with Liefthous and sent an almost accusing glare to the cup of drink and put it down to the ground, wanting to forget it. "To drink such a drink would be stupid for fun.", the red-head said with a mumble, looking at the cup as if she were trying to insult it. It took a while but...
"Liefthous did not sound like Liefthous.", the woman perked up and pointed out, turning to the man with a tilt of her head. Yes, she certain she heard a change from how he sounded- only for a short while.

He blinked. "Liefthous always sounds like Liefthous?" Lifting a brow, he returned the tilt of his head. "Are you alright? Maybe the drink did affect you..?" The thief grinned weakly. "Do you want me to fetch you water? Would that help you in any way?"
Yes, he understood he was playing it off. And, yes, he was blaming it on the drink. He thought his inherited accent was foolish, so he had practiced the closest thing to a normal accent he could teach himself. He had already owned horns and a tail, let alone his oversized elf-like ears. Why draw more attention with a strange way of speaking, as well?

Ember blinked a few times and cast her gaze to Liefthous' chest, neck beginning to hurt from having it up almost all the time when talking to him, but was in thought at the moment. The drink had effects? She began to worry a bit and gulped- looking to the cup and then back the man. "There are effects of toxic.", she brought a hand up to her neck, remembering how it burned sightly, and figured that was one of them.
The white-haired had reassured of that it wasn't dangerous toxic but she couldn't help but feel nervous. The effects could be anything!

Lief inhaled and shifted positions, locking eyes with her. "Ember, listen-" He huffed, lowering his voice and speaking with the accent again.
"I was.. joking. The drink is fine. I promise. Why would I have allowed you to consume it if it wasn't?" He asked. "I don't know what it is.. but its stinging your throat, no? Most toxics- erm, 'alcohol'- does that, especially the stronger ones. And- sometimes- it burns."
He inhaled and smiled, switching back to his familiar tone. "At least we understand not to get that certain beverage again?"

Ember looked at the man in awe as he spoke in a different way- sound-wise. A shiver went up her spine at it and it took her a while to realize he had stopped talking and she smiled faintly. "Liefthous does sound different.", she commented lightly. It was nice to know that in one way or another, she wasn't the only one who did. She just didn't know how to hide hers.
Another while passed before she realized what he spoke about the drink to begin with. "Never again. Drink of toxic is very bad.", Ember answered his question with a cross of her arms, a glance sent the cup's way.
Then something clicked in her mind. "Liefthous has had cup of toxic drink before.", she looked at him, incredulous at the thought that he had had enough of them to know their effects.

He grinned, nodding slowly. "On a couple occasions." He rolled his shoulders, his hand pushing his hair back. "I'm guessing you haven't had many?" The thief chuckled lightly, cocking an eyebrow. "I suggest you don't. They aren't.. good, let alone healthy."
Lief tilted his head, wondering how many drinks he had had since he arrived. Quite a few, he realized. He blinked. "They.. just make you.. dizzy," He added. "Nothing to big. I s'ppose it can cause you to lose balance, or even faint, but that's the worse I've seen." He mumbled with a click of his tongue. "People can't even hold their drinks, at times."

Furrowing her eyebrows, Ember thought for a moment and wondered why people would drink something like that when it wasn't good...taste OR health-wise. A blink and a small sway happened before she put her attention on him again. "Liefthous has faint...", came her indirect question.
Was she going to faint? The red-head felt fine minus the lingering burning in her throat and being even more thirsty than before. Speaking of which, the woman was parched and took a glance to the floor to find her own cup of drink.

He inhaled. "Yes.. I have.." He folded his hair into a bun, smiling weakly. "I must’ve had too much, and I s’ppose it was too much to handle." He added. "Pain-wise."
He glimpsed at his leg again, poking out his lips. "I find it strange how much pain I can take before I tell myself to quit before I kill myself." He seemed to be talking to himself, for he was mumbling while observing his thoughts aloud. "Why is it like that? What.. What have I done to deserve this ability..?"
He blinked, his attention refocusing. "Apologies." He looked up again, grinning.

Ember felt worry crawl up her spine as the man continued with his speech, though it sounded as if he was talking to himself at points. Immediately the woman left the white-haired male to go and get him a seat.
"I am to get Liefthous a seat. Liefthous should sit.", she threw over her shoulder to him, not stopping to hear any protest.

He blinked, confused. He had already forgotten what he had said since he had dazed. Did he say something to bother her? He awkwardly followed her, his ears perked one moment but lowered the next. "Ember, I'm fine-" He inhaled, trying to catch up to her pace. "Wait- What happened?" He didn't have the best memory, and daydreaming was practically his enemy. "Are you alright?"
The thief would gaze at the women, blinking to gain focus. What had he said? Why, of all moments, couldn’t he recall one word? He found it strange, though he was worried he had insulted her or anyone else.
