Lief Thous (played by AmberShades)

Lief propped his head on his hand, sending constant looks at Aleron. Panic was sent through him as he watched the man Al was speaking to draw a gun, and he nearly leapt from his seat. Eye widening, he shifted quickly as his breath came short. He didn't wish to knock over Ember, but he couldn't help but nearly fall from his seat. As the man lowered the gun, Lief inhaled piercely and quit stirring. He muttered what sounded like a prayer in his deep accent. Clearing his throat, he whispered a small apology to the woman before he readjusted the way he sat. He used his free hand to run a hand through his tousled hair, exhaling. He was still on edge, though he let himself calm down for a moment.

He didn't understand what he was so panicked about. Hadn't Aleron made his life miserable years before? Hadn't Aleron been the one who told Lief's location to the guards? Wasn't Aleron the reason Lief was caught in this chaos of running and skipping village to village? Lief rethought the last bit, biting his lip in slight irritation. Though Aleron had ratted him out, Lief had been the one to steal the crown in the beginning, let alone steal from the village's plaza. The thief sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose for a moment. He put on a smile and lowered his hands, wondering if he had looked.. insane.
Ember AKA Audenzia (played anonymously)

Ember was almost jumping from her position as Liefthous practically jumped in his seat, her whipping her head to face him, concerned that something happened to hurt him. Seeing no one near to seem threatening, beside the still ominous new comer not far away, she grew confused; her now wide grey orbs narrowing slightly. His attention was pointed to someone though she realized, but the other man was fairly far away and seemed to pose no threat.

"Liefthous...", Ember trialed her voice off, too tired to think of a proper not-question-question. At his smile she went still for a moment, wondering if he had gone mad with pain. The red-head brushed it off though and gently tapped his shoulder in hopes to bring him out of it.

Startled, Lief turned to face her, concern and panic still catching the light in his eye. The smile weakened, though it didn't fade away completely. "Yes..?" His voice cracked slightly, and he flinched at the tone. Flashing a somewhat of a brighter smile, he forces himself to laugh, even if it was quietly. "..Apologies. I didn't mean to.. alarm you in any way." He faintly drew a breath, wondering how he managed to keep his foolish grin like nothing had happened moments ago. "It was just.. a sudden shot-" His eye widened, and he rephrased the last part of his sentence. "A jolt of pain. That's all.." He nodded once, resisting the urge to whip around and leap from his seat, only to make his way to Aleron in a quick yet clumsily manner. "Apologies if it frightened you."

He swallowed, lowering his gaze to the table. He was hardly lying, yet it wasn't the truth. Though the Hellion believed the lie to be obvious, he didn't correct himself nor make any movements to show he was being untruthful; besides from the shaky voice or the way he avoided eye-contact. For the third time in nearly minutes, the thief mumbled another apology.

Ember listened to the man as she swayed side to side slightly, trying to make connections between what he was saying. She sat up properly and did some small stretches to help wake herself up a bit more. "Liefthous should find healful herbs.", the red-head slurred out slightly but managed to hold some firmness to it.

She heard the shakiness of his voice and wondered if he was trying to hide something, but brushed it off. Regardless of any lie, he did need to find something to help with his leg wound. The faster it can be healed the better, obviously. With that in mind, Ember took a swift look around the place, though already knew that no herbs would be found inside. A memory came to mind.

"You had used a power of healful on me earlier.", the grey-eyed woman recalled with a tilt of her head, gazing at the male. Yes, she remembered the agony of being burned. Then the relief and Liefthous falling beside her, drained.

The thief nodded with slight hesitation. "I'm not sure if there are many healing herbs around this area, and, if there were, I'm sure they cost more than you or I could afford." He sent a glance at his leg, once again nodding once at her statement. "It.. wasn't exactly healing, I'm afraid. I s'ppose the magicks don't.. heal. They just lessen whatever pain has been caused until the pain is gone." He added. "And the ability to do that on one person alone is.. exhausting. I'm not positive I have the capability to 'heal' again without causing more injury to myself or fainting."

He exhaled, glimpsing at his hands before returning his attention to Ember. "Apologies." He smiled and chuckled. "Unless you would like me to lay on the floor, passed out like a drunk fool, I'm afraid I cannot 'heal' myself at the moment."

Ember contemplated what he said as she cautiously investigated his leg wound, having never seen the weapon that hurt him before, she wasn't sure how to approach it correctly. Thinking it over, she stopped and looked around, a whisper of an idea echoing in her head. "Liefthous is not to use healful...maygiks...", the red-head mumbled the last word, already knowing she butchered it.

"...there is to be more of Liefthous here.", Ember finished as she glanced around the Hall, trying to spot anyone with the green horns that the man had. If someone else was like him, maybe they had healful herbs with them to help.

Lief blinked. "I’m fine." He stated blankly, laughing quietly. "And I’m not sure if anyone like Liefthous is here." He sat up straight, now scanning the crowd. Lowering his voice, he practically whispered as he added. "And, if there is anyone like myself, perhaps I need to leave."

He smiled and forced another weak laugh. "But that’s besides the point! No one I would know is here, besides Aleron and Hans. Though, Hans seemed to.. disappear at the moment." The thief exhaled. "Perhaps I should just deal with the pain? I’ll be fine, eventually." He grinned, hoping those words would be enough.

Ember furrowed her eyebrows, remembering the spoken names of Hans and Alrom, and continued looking around. "Though not of Liefthous, maybe of herbs.", she tried to think out loud.

There must be some kind of healful place in the Hall. It can't all be...Hall. Right? Grey orbs rested on the white-haired male eventually and she let out a quiet sigh. She thought that she was the one who needed guidance in looking after herself. Seems she found her match in that field.

"You are not skilled in feeling good for your health.", Ember pointed out blankly, face void of emotion for the first time in a while.
Lief Thous (played by AmberShades)

Lief nodded once, shrugging with a joking smile. "You have a point." He laughed lightly. "I’ll admit, I’m not that worried about my health, unless I’m lying in filth." He scrunched his nose at the thought. Never again would he leap into a dump with no hesitation. The memory haunted him, sending a slight shiver down his spine.

He looked down, tilting his head with another foolish smile. "But, for the time being, I’m alright. No healing magicks needed. The wound will heal eventually, hm?" He rolled his eyes and simpered. "Don’t think about it too much. It’s not that big of a deal."
Ember AKA Audenzia (played anonymously)

Ember blinked at his exception, hoping that he was only joking about it like he usually does. At his reassurance she looked to the side. "If there is to be another attack...", the red-head slowly trialed off, traces of worry etched into her voice.

Shaking her head, Ember looked back to him. "Liefthous is to not attack. Hide, run...no attack. No attack.", she emphasized the last part and pointed at his leg to help bring her point across.

With a smirk, Lief nodded and agreed, sarcasm dripping into his tone. "I understand. I’ll run; I’m not sure I’ll make it very far with this painful, miserable wound." He snickered, but his next statement was somewhat serious. "Though, hiding is like a fish waiting for the shark."

Raising a brow, he crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes. "And what will you do, hm? Defend yourself without help? That’s a dimwitted plan, I’ll admit. If you get harmed to the point you can no longer fight? Then what shall you do? If the opposing side strikes you and you cannot get up? Who will help you?" He was mocking her with these questions, yet he was completely serious. "I don’t believe I’ll be fleeing, if there is an attack."

He added with another laugh. "Additionally, I was never well at following orders, if you haven’t noticed."
Ember AKA Audenzia (played anonymously)

Ember felt her blood boil at his tone of voice and her look resting on him hardened, all lingering dreariness gone. Though language wasn't her best skill, the woman could feel mockary from fields away. House Strength was about the show of skill and how to find ways to spread their influence with said skills. Getting someone to fight you and then be the one to come out on top was the easiest way; and her people were known to answer fake calls against them.

Yet, this was not House Strength. Liefthous was one, if not her only, companion here at the Hall and she didn't want to hurt him in any way. That being said though...it was taking a fair deal out of her to keep herself in place where she sat. Ember had to fight down the growl that threatened to emerge from her throat at his lack of faith in her. It was hard to blame him though, she realized a bit too late, since he had never seen her fight or knew what she had done to accomplish her title.

The red-head couldn't keep the growl from lining her answer though. "I have lives to spare.", the woman told to him, voice tight and strained to be even.

"And I don’t?" He was curious of her way of thinking, but he keep giving sly comments. He knew he was angering her; it was clear in the way she spoke and the way she glared at him with every word. "Listen, Ember, in all honesty, I appreciate your.. care, though I fear I cannot notice your warnings. I have no care for my star-of-being, nearly dead or alive. And- if you wish- I will attempt to heal myself, or call upon the tavern to see if there, perhaps, is someone I know."

He hesitated, debating if he should apologize or not. Though, he continued speaking. "If there is an attack, I shall stand alongside whoever is fighting. No matter if it is you or a stranger." He shrugged with a stern expression. "No matter if I have a weapon or if I must battle with bare hands. No matter if I am begging for my last breath." His brows furrowed. "Either way, I will not hide nor run. It’s.. not the way our code works."
Ember AKA Audenzia (played anonymously)

Ember was just barely taken back by his words, enough to pull her anger down a few levels. It was quite an odd feeling to be completely shot down and to be both frustrated as well as impressed by Liefthous. Her House followed her command without question, and the man has listened to her advice once since they met each other...then again, he had a strong will. She had a few mixed opinions on him- especially since he was being...him? "Liefthous should take care of himself in order to continue life.", the red-head rolled out, a different thought replacing anything else in her mind.

"Liefthous has many lives.", Ember 'questioned' him, leaning forward in her seat slightly. None of the other Houses had Leaders for a long time, so it was refreshing to find someone who had that ability too.
Lief Thous (played by AmberShades)

He let go of his angered yet stern expression, replacing it with a snort and a smile. "I don’t have multiple lives. I just refuse to let Death take me." He smirked with yet another shrug. "As for Life, I don’t seem to care enough to live it correctly." The thief was speaking of Death and Life as if they were people, though he didn’t seem to even keep note of the way he was speaking. He muttered in awe, the thought occurring to him. "It would be.. amazing if I somehow managed to have multiple lives-" His eyes lit up. "Like a mouser!"

A childish grin creased his lips as he snickered. "As for what I said earlier, I apologize for snapping or using an angered tone."
Ember AKA Audenzia (played anonymously)

Ember leaned back, realizing what he had said before, feeling a little disappointed. "Apology not in need.", she automatically corrected him, getting used to his continuous apologies for no real reason. Though as weird as it was, he shouldn't need to The red-head had picked up on a different way of speaking on how he addressed dying and living, but she was too uncertain to point it out to him.

Ember flickered her grey orbs from the ground to Liefthous, not entirely sure where to go from there. He didn't have the same ability as her and, from the sound of it, he wanted to. Would...would he be hurt if he knew? Was it worth telling him?

With a small clearing of her throat, she inquired what the man said before. "A...meowser is that of one with many lives."
Lief Thous (played by AmberShades)

He nodded. "At least, that’s what the Stars-" He pauses. Would she know who they were? Would he be taken as insane for speaking to the Stars? He cleared his throat and began the sentence, still as if he were a child telling stories. "The.. ancestors.. told us. Perhaps it was a story, but these mousers are s’pposedly cursed if their fur was black, like the darkness. They had fangs, and their eyes were said to glow much like the Moon’s if they were ever casting said cursed magicks." He blinked, his ears perking. "Mousers were told to be terrifying creatures, though some were trusted by many witches." With a shake of his head, he added. "Our ancestors said the mousers were never to be trusted, for they could take shape of a human at any given moment."

He drew a breath. "Despite being seen by many, I don’t know if they’re real myself. A nine lives, shapeshifting, trained-in-magicks folk? It doesn’t sound.. real." He shrugged. "Though, I didn’t think many things were real until I saw them, I must admit."

Brows pinched, he thought for a moment. Had the Stars- his ancestors- fed him lies? Would they break the code? He brushed it off quickly, realizing he had broken many laws of the code of their people. On the other hand, the Stars were the ones who had made the laws.

Confused, he brought his focus back with a bright smile.
Ember AKA Audenzia (played anonymously)

Ember followed along with his explanation, questioning if such beings really existed. They didn't sound to be anything she knew of, but he wasn't lying she didn't think. It was too detailed to be a lie. Though she was confused about...

"Meowsers trusted many of which and what.", the red-head mumbled out. She stood up for a moment to stretch her legs and pop her spine, not used to staying still for so long. Sitting back down, the woman criss-crossed her legs on top of the seat, deciding to practice some balance. Once she stilled, Ember looked back to the man and unexpectedly let out one of his laughs.

Hands fumbled with themselves for a while though, out of slight nervousness. The multiple lives was still on her mind and, she knew, that eventually he'd find out. It was somewhat dangerous here and a well-timed surprise attack would take her. Liefthous would find out then yet...it seemed rude to leave it for her to die and then the man would figure her ability.
Lief Thous (played by AmberShades)

Lief opened his mouth to say something, though he realized she had fallen silent. Had he rambled too much? He debated apologizing, though he watched her stand and reposition herself as he decided to say nothing at the moment. Besides, he understood he had apologized too much. The Hellion stretched, bringing one arm over his head while it grabbed his other, which was also raised. He brought them down quickly, driving his elbows back to roll his shoulders.

Lief glimpsed at the woman, lifting his brow slightly. "What are you thinking?" He hesitated, but corrected himself nonetheless. "I’m sorry- That’s not the common question here, is it?" Clearing his throat, he seemed to restart his sentence for the thousandth time that evening. "Are you alright?"
Geth (played by Sentient_Trashcan)

Exiting a small tunnel covered in slightly glowing rocks, Geth floated to a position around three feet off the floor and looked around. "Hm... it appears i've finally made it." He said, his voice rather emotionless, but with a tinge of joy. "Finally, a wealth of knowledge, hopefully with other seekers of it such as myself." He said before starting to float in a random direction, searching for either sentient creatures or books, as either would provide him with some knowledge.
