How do you roleplay as an insane character, I want one of my chars to be insane, but acts lawful...but I just don't like how I play insane chars...any tips on rping as an insane char?

I would tell you but we are currently roleplaying with one of them. Make their movement erratic, sentences shorter, laugh at unexpected points.

Well... "insane" is a pretty broad, unspecific term. It might help to determine what's wrong first.

The essence behind an "insane" character is varying degrees of doing things outside the norm or constantly overshooting problems. A lawful chaotic character is described as this, according to http://easydamus.com/chaoticgood.html

A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he's kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. He hates it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society.

So, you're looking at a "free spirit" sorta character, which, to make them insane, would be to crank these traits to 11.

Have them see hallucinations, maybe? Have them believe in big, complex conspiracies (FBI, CIA, UFOs...)

What specifically do you mean when you say an "insane" character? Do you mean someone who's mentally ill? If so, I'd suggest you do a lot of research on the specific mental illness you're trying to portray first, rather than just slapping some unusual behavior together and labeling it "insanity."

Alright, so someone who has had quite a few insane characters, and is quite a fan of a few, my recommendations would be: Make them apathetic. Very apathetic. Sadistic too, if you will, but if you want them to be lawful, try to keep that aspect on the low profile. Sociopathic works too, and that plays sort of into the lawful of sorts. Psychopathic will work for the more insane aspects of the character. But yes, apathy is something you really need, as for sadistic behavior.
