Ember strolled through a local town, a beanie hat covering her ears and a too-large jacket wrapped around her waist, covering her tail. She wore a plane, navy blue T-shirt and a dark pair of jeans. Although the sun was shining, there was a nip in the air due to the fall season. As she walked, her eyes scanned the stores passing by. Her face showed a bored mood. When she was just about to give up and find a place to sleep, a small cry issued from a nearby park. She looked over and saw two boys and a small girl, one tugging on the little girl’s hair and the other holding what looked like a doll. The boys looked about her age. "Give her back!" The little girl yelled, reaching her hands out to the doll.
Ember felt anger bubble up in her as she stepped up. "Hey!" She yelled walking over to them. The little girl looked at her with a desperate plea while the other two boys glared at her. "What do you want?" The boy holding the girls hair spat at Ember. "You better stop messing with that girl or else." She spat back, taking another step towards them.
"Or else what?" The boy holding the doll said with a sly smile. Ember smirked at him, then her fist connected with his jaw. The next moment, she was in a full on fight with the two boys.";

Abby was walking form work when she saw the two girls and boys. She saw the little girl crying while the other one was fighting the boys to get it back. She walked over to them and while they weren't paying attention, she took the doll and gave it back to the little girl. "Here you go, sweetie. Run on home now." She turned back to the other three and grabbed the other girl by the back of her shirt and pulled her away form the fight. "Okay, what is this all about?" She looked at the girl and the boys. She knew the boys and they knew her. "I expect better form the two of you, and so does your parents." She said to the boys. She looked at the other girl, confused as to who she is.

Ember wiped her bloody, split lip with the back of her hand. Various bruises covered her body where the bays had kicked and punched her. "They were asking for it." She said adjusting her beanie and tightening her jacket so that none of them would fall off. She looked over at the two boys and stuck her toung out at them in a childish manner.

Abby sighed. "I don't care who started it all. You three should be getting home." The boys ran off but before the girl could, Abby stopped her. "May I ask, did you just move her, ma'am?" She could tell that. even though she was childish, that the girl was well into her teens. "I'm Abby Sanders." She smiled warmly, offering her, her hand.

Ember took her hand in a rough manner and shook it. "Ember." she said then licked her lips to get some blood off of them.

"Nice to meet you, Ember. A strong grip you got there." Abby smiled and flexed her fingers. "Do you live around here?"

"I don't live anywhere." She said scratching her ears under her hat. "I usualy just rent motels from around here."

"Oh." Abby said then got an idea. "If you want, you can live with me. I live alone, expect for my cat." She smiled. "What do you say?"

Ember gave bet a tomboyish grin. "You sure? Some people say I can be a real handful."

"I don't mind it. I only have a few simple rules and that is it." She said with another smile. "Just follow me."

"Okay, if you say so." She shrugged, stuffing her hands in her jeans' pockets.

Abby smiled and began to walk home. "Here are the rules. Rule number 1, If you make a mess, clean it up. Rule number 2, Please don't break anything. Rule 3, Don't try to unlock the locked door at the end of the hall. Rule 4, if you go somewhere, please do tell me where and when you should be back." Once they got to the house, she unlocked the door and opened it wide for Ember to come in. "Simple and sweet rules."

Ember smiled. "I'll obey rules rule 2 and 4, but rules one and 2 I'll have to work on." She laced her finguers together and rested them on the back of her neck in a boyish manner.

Abby nodded. "I understand." Once they were in the house she said, "Also, you might as well tell me what you are. Witches can sense other magic creatures a mile away." She smiled at her, like it wasn't really big that she was a witch.

Ember pulled her hat more over her ears. "Um, yeah. About that. I have some rules too. 1. No making fun of my... Specialness. 2. Do not insult my 'boyish' nature."

"Of course not. I believe that everyone is special in their own way and that shouldn't be made fun of."

"Okay, I'll show you." she said pulling off, reviling her two golden fox ears.

"Golden Kistune, correct?" She stated matter-of-factly, as if it wasn't really that big to her.

She nodded, putting the cap back on.
