Alex smiled at her. "It is fine. So, why are you here?" He was so lost in his poetry he had completely forgotten his chores.
Jazmine blinked in confusion. "You asked me to."
Alex blinked, confused then it hit him. "Oh yeah! Sorry about that, I forgot about the chores. Thank you, Jazzy." He went and picked up his bucket of water and mop. He began to head to the kitchen.
"Do you need any help?" She asked following him out.
Alex shook his head. "I think I got it. Thank you anyways."
"No really, it's the least I can do after what you did for me..." she trailed off.
Alex shook his head. "No, what I did for you was my pleasure to do. I hate to see people be bullied for no reason." He smiled at her. Once they entered the kitchen, he cleaned off the floor and set the bucket down, getting ready to start mopping.
Jazmine smiled, although she still wanted to help. She went to the corner of the room were the storage closet was and got the extra mop that was located in there. She took it back to where Alex was and started to help. "Concider it a welcoming give if you wont take it as a repayment." She said smiling warmly.
Alex smiled back at her, resisting the urge to roll his eyes at her stubbornness. "Fine then, you are a stubborn girl, you know that?" He began to mop the floors.
"Not stubborn, just helpful." She wispered as she continued to clean.
Alex smiled and continued to mop the floor. "I'm glad that I got them to think about what they did."
"You would be the first..." Jazmine's gaze trailed down the stone floors.
Alex looked surprised by that. "You mean nobody here has been nice to you or not bully you?" He asked, the shock clear in his voice.
"Well, dont worry about that." She turned back to him and gave him a reassuring smile.
Alex nodded. "Alright. It just doesn't make sense why they would do this to you."
Jazmine swayed a bit while she mopped. "I guess... I was an easy target. I dont mind it alot now though, I'm pretty used to it."
"That isn't right, though. I'll try to do what I can to get them to stop. You already know where I am at when I have nothing to do." He finished mopping.
"You really don't need to." She continued mopping even though the area was clean. She was pretty much doing it mindlessly now.
Alex leaned the mop against the wall and walked over to Jazzy. He wrapped his arms around her. "Yes, I don't have to do it, but I want to. I hate to see someone kind get hurt for a reason, but for no reason isn't right." He held her tighter, closing his eyes tight as the tears boiled at the rims of his eyes at the memories of all the people he met that got hurt, and his parents' bodies burning in the house he grew up in.
Tears brimed Jazmines eyes too. The last time she had been hugged was by her sister when she had tried to block Jazmine from being shot from the intruders. A lump formed at the back of her throat as she tried to hold back the tears.
