In a distant universe, technology and magic live side-by-side, working together to allow what would seem to us impossible to be possible. This serves most people purpose in day-to-day life, but for some, the most elite at both magic and inventing, it is used as a lifestyle of competition. Known as Shamans of Tech, these people battle each other, trying to cast spells and power them up with their inventions. And the main tournament at which these battles happen, the Finale Cup, in the finals, the winners gain eternal fame and fortune, and the losers are sent to Faroks, a city of outcasts and nobodies.
Magic is very common. Magic-tech, grand floating islands, forests that sing, magical creatures may be an every-day occurrence.
Industrial revolution
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.
