Hi all. I just need to talk and ramble for a while. You can feel to join me if you want and ramble a bit yourself, about anything at all, but either way, I'm going to.

I just found out that there's a brain thing some people have that causes them to be unable to visualize things in their mind. They don't see images when they imagine something. Aphantasia is what it's called. Its where they literally don't have a mind's eye. And when they find out other people can it's a shock.

And have you ever heard of synesthesia (might be spelling it wrong)? Where people see music, or taste colors, or see a different color for each word. Things like that.

The way people can experience things so differently is such a trip. It fascinates me to no end.
I actually created a character like that! Olivia was partially blind, but could only see in colours. No pun intended, but it was almost blinding. Eventually, she got used to it. End of tiny talk.

Interesting! ;)

My mom is suggesting I apply for jobs that I am not qualified for, which she insists I am qualified for. But literally, I'm not.

Oiii... conversations with family.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
Actually, me and a friend both border on synesthesia, too. XD He practically sees words, making him good for asking how to spell things, and I... just get mixed up. Like something smelling grey, or some clam chowder I had tasting like how a scrunched up forehead and nose bridge looks.

At least, I think I still technically fall short. It's pretty minor, in any case.

And depending on the job thing, your mom might have a point. I've been told many times, "hiring ads list requirements, but those are just a wish list." For some positions, the people writing the job post don't even know what they're talking about or actually need, and are just putting in relevant keywords in hope that someone knows what they mean.

Wow, really? That sure does sound like it to me, comparing to the interviews I heard on the radio of people who have it. I don't know if there's a threshold of how frequently someone experiences it before they can say "you've officially got this," but they didn't make it sound that way on the radio. All I know is, I have definitely never smelled a color like that or felt like something tastes like a facial expression...and of course, therefore...I find that SO interesting. Because it's different than what I've ever experienced.

I would say some people see words in their mind -- I do that, a LITTLE. But i more hear them, which makes me... not the best speller. Not without google and such.

I guess there is one way in which I can sort of imagine what that's like. The only way is, with how music can seem to sound like a certain image. Like, fast moving, flowing flute notes kind of sound like a babbling brook, or something. But honestly I don't think that's the same thing...so yeah it's a completely different experience than I have ever experienced (synesthesia is). Thanks for commenting on it. :)

Oh, yeah. I know that's true. I know what you mean. But it's farther out into left field than that.

She's like, "you should be a pharmaceutical research assistant."

I'm like, "but I've never worked in a lab and I'm only a pharmacy tech, which is completely different, (mostly customer service) and the degree I do have is not in science.

But she was a dental research assistant when she was young. But it's because she has a degree in microbiology.

I'm like, "Grad students studying pharmacology are the kind of people who are research assistants working with scientists...not pharmacy technicians. There's a big difference in the training there. It's completely different. 4 years versus 6 months."

She's like, "But how do you know if you don't try?"

I just finally end up getting to,

"Yes. Ok. Maybe I could. I'll look into it. Ok ok."

Anywho. Thanks for commenting.

That also makes me wonder if something that smells grey has a good smell or a bad smell? I would think bad smell.

I guess I just guess that way because of the symbolism of grey ("grey skies," etc)
For the job thing, that's fair. Case of mom overestimating what her kid can do yet? XD

And no, generally when something has smelled "grey" it hasn't smelled bad. Or good. It's pretty neutral.

And I have other weird sensory stuff, too. I'll smell things that aren't there (and it's been proven I'm not just better at smelling), or things will smell like other things (yes, I notice it most with smells, but I don't know that it happens most with smells). Like, as a gross but easy to remember example, some rocks and some poop smell the same to me?

Lol. Novalyyn, you're such an interesting person. Seriously.

And brains! Brains are so interesting.

I'm glad you answered that question about grey, hehe. I was hoping you would. Things that I get curious about...lol.

And ooooh boy does my mom overestimate what I can do and what I actually DO. The only child thing. I can practically do no wrong. I love her so much for that, though.

I was spoiled (within the context of our lives, and the context was -- we had veeery little money. Way below the poverty line, but within that context, she spoiled me.)

On the subject of sensory things. I had an odd sensory thing too. It's like...I could FEEL clothes on me more than most people.

Socks were really annoying. The hem in the sock at the end of the toe bothered me, and I would always fold the sock back before I put my shoes on. My friends were like, "what are you doing?" Lol.

And I cut the tag out of every shirt I had.

That stopped bothering me somewhere in my teenage years...for some reason. But I still like really smooth fabrics!

I have mastered being on time to work (and to social events). Based on the last month or so. Now if I can master being productive with my time, I will be a force to be reckoned with. #feeling optimistic

And now, the time has come for me to get offline again. And it's for some reason really hard! I get addicted to the quick fix of chat with nice people.

But I gotta work (at school) the next 3 days in a row so I NEED to get home, get clothes together, eat dinner, go to sleep. These things will be rewarding in the long run, but they're not rewarding now. And yet, when I get a nice check and go out with friends, in real life, it is more rewarding than talking online. It really is. There are real hugs, there are the kind of jokes that only happen when you misheard someone, there are real smiles, voices... SENSORY INFORMATION. Lol.

And yet...that check takes a long time, and in the MEANTIME, I'm bored. I'm bored will doing the things necessary. BUT...I gotta get over that. I gotta suck it up and do what I gotta do. I keep repeating to myself, "real life is more rewarding," because ultimately it is, but it's easy to forget in the moment. And online friendships can be so rewarding too.

Ok...that's my waxing philosophical moment before I log off.

Also, I just found out that taco cat spelled backwards in taco cat and I find the fact way too entertaining.

That is all.
