Tolora sat in the crook of an old tree, lost in her thoughts. It was pretty far from civilization, but she didn't feel any need to see anyone at the moment. She replayed the last time she and her brother had talked. He didn't want to travel around all the time anymore, the way she had to. He was starting a family of his own. It made her feel betrayed, though she knew she'd want the same thing in his place. She absentmindedly pulled a dagger out of its sheathe, feeling the blade. It drew a line of blood across the pad of her thumb that healed almost instantly. Still sharp, after so many years, 10 of them to be exact. She could still remember that night vividly in her mind's eye. She shivered though the air was warm. Markal had wanted her to give up on her unsuccessful quest and try to live for something else.

Well, almost unsuccessful. She'd discovered her mother's killer. And it was one person that she'd never thought would do such a thing. One person she'd never even seen until a few years ago. Her father. Thinking of him filled her with helpless rage. It was all a game to him, a sick game. She heard the howls of a far-off demon wolf pack. Tolora felt a calm over her. This was why she was here anyways, waiting. She'd never been able to stay in one spot for long, as demons were always there to find her. She wasn't running anymore though, she'd face her last night tonight, taking down as many of the demons down with her as she could.

(Sorry it is so short, I really couldn't think of a long reply. )

Instead of a demon wolf coming out, it was a werewolf. He was larger than the average adult wolf. He had a slick black coat with deep green eyes that showed that he had more pain in his life than he would admit. He heard the demon wolves coming, not far behind him. He looked over to the girl, sensing the power she has. "Hop on my back if you want to live." he spoke into her mind, a strange ability that he didn't know how he got it or why, but he only knew how to use it.

Tolora raised an eyebrow. "If I wanted to live, I'd have left already." She looked down at the dagger again and thought of her mother. She wouldn't have wanted her daughter to just stop trying. "Never give up." She always said. Tolora repeated it under her breath and sighed. "Alright, I'll go, but on my own paws." She jumped up and changed into her white tiger form mid-jump.

Logan was not pleased to see that she wasn't a werewolf, but snow tiger. He nodded and started running when he heard the demon wolves coming closer. He was a fast runner, faster than most werewolves, but that was because he didn't have a pack and he didn't want anyways. He knew she was following, but he would glance behind him to make sure she was still there, all a long the demon wolves barking started to sound farther and farther away.

Tolora ran behind him, keeping pace. The demon wolves were closer and she snapped at one that came to close, sending it off yelping with a bald patch in its fur. She didn't have the ability to talk in this form like the werewolf did, but couldn't help wondering where they were going.

Once they got close enough to where they were heading, Logan spoke into her mind "I had found a cave that is hidden very well and it is a good place to hide until they disappear." He made a sharp turn and then ducked quickly into the cave, which was very hard to see. it was a small cave so he switched back to his human form so that he could fit in better.

Tolora followed him to the cave and followed suit. Her white coat would stand out more than her dark human hair. She followed him in the entrance of the cave and waited to see if the demon wolves would be fooled. The demons usually had a way of finding her no matter what. "Nice cave ya got here." She said quietly. Her long black hair was out of its usual ponytail.

Logan shrugged. "I just found it a couple of days ago." He leaned back against the back wall of the cave, his shaggy black hair covering his eyes somewhat. He really needed to go get it cut, he had been hiding away in the woods for too long but he was trying to be careful because of that stupid curse. "What were you doing in the middle of the woods?" He asked.

Tolora shrugged. "Feels better in the woods I guess. Reminds me of home." She let her eyes adjust to the darkness of the cave and listened to the sounds of the wolves searching for them. "What about you? I mean why are you here? ...Why'd you try to save me?"

Logan shrugged. "I try to live in the woods and keep away form others. Also, I rather not have someone die because I didn't help." He wasn't looking at her, his eyes were closed as he listened for any sign of them being found.

Tolora nodded. "A decent inu. Can't say I've really met one very often." They listened as a deeper roar came from far off. "And that would be the big greeting party." The sounds of something large moving through the woods and breaking down trees came from the same direction. It was steadily coming towards them, albeit slowly.

Logan stiffen when he heard the larger create coming closer. His eyes flashed open. "We need to go." He said, he walked to the front of the cave and looked out the cave opening and could see how far the creature was.

Tolora squinted her eyes out at the creature. "Looks like a troll. Hard to tell at the moment though. They're slow, both physically and mentally, but where there's one, there's usually others." If they got far enough ahead, Tolora and her new wolf friend would be able to rest in peace. At least for a while.

Logan nodded. "It does look like a troll. We should get going. I think there is another cave in a mountain, but it is a little ways away form here."

Tolora nodded. "Lead the way." She had no real knowledge of the area they were in. She shifted into the white tiger form and shook her fur. Changing forms always made her itch and this was no exception. She sneezed and looked back at the troll still coming towards them.

Logan nodded and shifted into his wolf form. He quickly dashed out of the cave, confusing the troll, which bought them some time before it realized that they were already gone. He ran quickly, dodging trees and rocks as the troll began to chase them, but he was a good ten or twenty miles away. Logan could see the mountain in the distance.

Tolora split off onto the other side of the troll, adding to the confusion. She angled back towards Logan and was soon running nose and nose with him, only a few feet away. She weaved between the trees and saw the mountain he must have been talking about. Huh, didn't notice that before. She'd been facing a different direction before, when she was sitting in the tree.

Logan looked up at her, confused as to what she was doing. he skidded to a stop. "What are you doing?!" He demanded in her thoughts, clearly ready for them to get going.

Tolora hadn't realized she'd stopped. She shook her head and ran again. She gave the wolf an apologetic look, as much as a tiger can. The troll was much slower than they were, and was soon left behind out of sight. A few nearby demon wolves started chase when they saw them, but were left behind too.

Logan nodded and started up again, but at this rate, they should arrive at the cave by sun set. He began to increase his speed, trying to get farther away form the demon wolves and troll.
