Belle nodded. "Yeah. I don't really think any animal has a brain function as humans do. There are animals that are very smart and come close to it but just not enough."
"No. I don't think they could do the complicated thought processes like humans; like, create a computer code or something like that."
"That would never happen."
"Exactly. The issue that they don't have opposable thumbs simply complicates the matter." He smiled slightly at the idea of a squirrel typing away on a computer.
Belle giggled. "Well, orangutans have opposable thumbs but their mind doesn't process the same things as the human mind."
"That's true. Funny, I wonder if I stuck glasses and a purple polo shirt on an orangutan, would my boss notice I was gone?"
Belle laughed. "He probably wouldn't notice if you were gone if you put a scarecrow in your cubicle."
He grinned as he imagined that odd sight. "Probably not. I may just have to try that sometime."
Belle giggled. "Let's see who he noticed first is gone, me or you."
"Probably you, but I won't make any bets."
Belle shrugged. "Well, it seems that I am the only girl that works at the company so most likely."
"I'm sure there are more somewhere, but you're the only one who works in your department. I think you're right."
Belle grinned at him. "I hope the girls around here aren't like the 'popular' girls you would find during school."
"Sadly, most of them are. I know," he sighed, nomming resignedly on his pasta.
Belle ate some of her food and shook her head. "What a shame. I hope I don't run into them, I had seen enough of those girls in high school."
"Yeah, same here. Most of the guys are like the jocks- think they're cooler than everybody else. There are only a few like us who are actually somewhat normal."
Belle sighed. "That is such a shame, does anyone ever grow up past high school? I saw yesterday Gordy will never grow up past ten."
Jason busted up, choking on his water and almost spewing it across the table, he was laughing so hard.
Belle was laughing along with him. "What? it is only the truth?" She knew how to be funny but she just didn't show it most of the time because she really saw no use in making friends if they only left you behind, but now she was seeing differently.
He coughed violently, pounding his chest and laughing, really not helping his cause.
