Celtic handed him the bow and arrow quietly.
The man took them and placed them in his lap, then he sat back and watched the forest. A half hour went by. An hour went by. One and a half hours went by. Two hours went by, and so on. During all of this Gritch never looked at the girl.
Celtic sat there quietly, she was a bit bored but she did not complane. The young girl did not move around much eather, she was resting her back aginst the trink of the tree watching around her quietly
More time passed and the sun was high in the sky, Gritch still never said a word. He did, however, pull out some unleavened bread and broke it in two. After taking a bite out of one half, he held the other out to Celtic. He figured she was probably hungry too.
Celtic took the bread and nodded in tanks before she took a few bits of it.
Gritch ate... and then waited again. Grith hunted when he could so he could stay up in that tree for a long time. He started wondering if the girl would be able to do the same, or would she succome to bodily needs? He smiled inwardly, but kept a straight face on the outside.
Celtic remained quiet and silent, She had somewhat fallen into a meditative like state but he was still awake and alert to, just relaxed enough that she would not get stiff.
Movement below caught the Ranger's attention as he peered down at it. A half smile broke on his lips as he drew back his bow, the red sun shining above. The arrow flew off into the woods, a thud followed. "Well there's dinner!"
Celtic blinked a few times and yawned " About time" She said smiling " i was getting hungry"
Gritch shook his head and threw a full circle of unleavened bread at her, he had a couple more that was with him the whole time. Then he began climbing down the tree. At the bottom he waited for his apprentice.
celtic dropped down out of the tree, landing quietly in the grass below.
"Lets get the deer, shall we?" With a heel turn Gritch stode quickly towards where the brush was. Behing it laid the slain dear, the arrow had piered it's heart. It was an eight point buck. "Beautiful huh?"
" very" Celtic said nodding.
"Good, would you like to skin it?" He looked at the sky. "plenty of time left!"
" no, not really" Celtic said
The man shrugged before he cut apart the animal. Antlers removed, meat cut out, skin taken. Gritch, who planned this whole thing, fetched a cart he had stuck nearby. He set it by the deer remains and leaned against the tree. "Load it," he commanded.
Celtic blinked and sighed before she begain to load it.
((Sorry about the long delay, I blame moving!))
Gritch smiled and said, "well you're agood work horse, there might be hope for you yet."
Gritch smiled and said, "well you're agood work horse, there might be hope for you yet."
Celtic looked at him " what the point in this "
(( its quite alright ))
(( its quite alright ))
"Who said I have a point?" He shrugged. "Maybe I'm hungry and want something to eat. That's what I use deer for. Food."
