We went to Scarborough Faire today and took a few pictures; thought I'd put some up. It's me in the navy blue shirt, Sandra is the one with the blonde hair, and the other two folks are performers: the firewhip guy, and a girl from an escape artist show. And also some falconers are there, holding their birds.

We are missing our annual faire north of Brisbane this year, but the organisers really crapped on some friends who put a lot into the faire over the years. So we're kind of glad to not be supporting them this year. We just missed the Goldfields Ren Faire here in Melbourne as it happened at the end of March. We will try and make Timeline festival in October.

I could share some pictures of past Medieval/Renaissance Faires we have attended in full costume....

Awesome sauce on the outfits. Which ohio rennfaire did u go to? I go to the great lakes rennfaire every year since moving out to ohio.

Its the one in Waynesville! They built an entire town and it runs from august 31 to October 27 every weekend I definitely recommend going to it. https://www.renfestival.com/

Cooool. The one I go is Scarborough Faire in Waxahachie, Texas (Wahkz-uh-hatch-ee -- I love saying that word), an hour south of Dallas, Texas and it runs from sometime in March I think through Memorial Day. So today was the last day. It's neat seeing all these Renaissance festival pics.

You guys are so lucky... the faires run for more than a weekend....

Wow can't imagine people doing all that work to set up for just one weekend. I guess the reason it lasts longer in Dallas-Fort Worth is because it's such a big metroplex that there's enough of a crowd every weekend to make it pay off. But it is held only on the weekends. No weekdays. Except like one "School Day," where they invite students to go on field trips to the faire, and, I guess, the performers keep all the more naughty jokes and puns out of their comedy acts and things. Lol
