He finally found a small shack and walked inside. He set her down and searched digging up a lantern and lit it. He opened one of his pouches and pulled out a small bag of jerky. He handed it to her and smiled as he limped to another room. He kept the door open so he could have a little light and began to pull out a few first aid items. He sighed and began sewing the small gash on his leg and putting the disinfectants upon it.
"There we are." he laid back and sighed, his leg throbbing. His mind riddled with questions. He looked out the door to Karissa and shook his head, "What am I going to do?"

Karissa nibbled on the jerky, watching Alex sew up his leg in curiosity.
He smiled at her. He didn't know anything about this girl. A short timne ago, this child was just another cotract. He sighed and stood u p "You mist be tired." He limped to the old fireplace and studied it. He grabbed some old wood and busted it up then started a small flame, "Lets rest. Tomorrow we can go find a good hiding place. Maybe even play a new game." He knelt done and softly pokes her nose. Something he remembered his own mother doing many years ago when he was but a child.
Karissa giggled when he poked her nose. She hopped up from where she was sitting to explore the shack. She came across a closet and opened it to revile shelves with pillows and blankets neatly stacked on them. She smiled and gathered two pillows and four blankets in her small arms, bringing them to Alex.
Alex smiled and took the blankets and pillows, "Such a wise little girl." he softly ruffled her hair. He made up a spot for them to lay by the fire. He smiled to Karissa and poked her nose again, "Get rest little one. After we sleep good, I give you some more food, then we will walk to town. Get you some real food."
Although Karissa did not know what he had just said, she smiled and curled up by the fire and fell asleep almost instantly.
He didn't sleep long. He was up after just a few hours. He had cleaned his gun, polished his blade, checked his supplies...the list kept growing as he made sure he was prepared for the rest of the little journey. He sighed as he finished. His leg was feeling a bit better, now allowing him to walk normally. He would take any supplies from the house.
After finished he walked up and picked up Karissa, leaving her wrapped in her blanket and he took off out the house, trying to cover as much ground as he could from any of her new pursuers. "Why do they want her so bad..."

Karissa woke up to a cold blast on her face and slowly opened her eyes, letting her surroundings come into view. It took her a few moments to notice that she was being carried. She looked up to see Alex, and made a small noise to let him know that she was awake.
He looked down, his mask back on. "Good morning." he kept moving as he took deep breaths. "Hungry?" He lifted his head back up and came to a stop. He slid in the snow a moment and gently sat her down in the blanket. He reached in his pouch pulling out more of the Jerky for her.
Karissa reached up with her little hands in attempt to grab the Jerky. She finally got ahold of it and started to nibble on it, looking ahead into the snow.
He pulled out a map and looked it over. He sighed as he glanced down to the little girl and smiled, "It won't be to much longer. We can be at home." He sat by her and sighed. "Good?" he pointed at the jerky.
Karissa took another bite as a response. She though of what he had said, and echoed the word that sounded interesting to her. "Home."
He looked down and nodded, "Yes Home...A place where we can..." he stopped suddenly. He picked her up and sat her in a bush and covered her with the blanket, "Stay..." he placed a finger over where his mouth would be and spoke softly, "No sounds okay." he softly rubbed her head, "I be right back." he would run off and dashed up a nearby tree and hid behind the leaves, "What now...please be paranoia..." his hand moved to his sword.
Karissa's ears twitched when she heard the noise from the trees. She wrapped the blanket more securely around herself and kept quiet. She couldn't see where the movement came from, but if she could follow the sound to find it. But she knew that Alex wanted her to stay put, so she did so.
He sighed to himself and silently reached into his pocket pulling out a few throwing knives. He flicked his wrist forcing them to strike in a distant tree, making light thuds that almost sounded like feet and rustled the leaves. His other hand moved silently onto the handle of his gun. He waited now, hoping that this would be a smooth and rapid finish.
A man sprung out from the tree with a knife in his hand, pointed at Alex. In his shoulder was one of the Knives that Alex threw that had hit him.
Huffed, "Well now," he dropped from the tree and crossed his arms, the red of his lens glaring onto the man he seemed to have stabbed, "This is not what I expected. Seems you play like I do." he drew his sword and gun and sighed, "Seems you won't get the easy way out." he took a strange stance. He began to laugh, "Ready?"
He didn't wait for an answer and flung his gun arm around and pulled the trigger firing off. He pushed off the same instant and darted to the left. His blade gently pulled across the snow as his kept his eyes on his target.

The man dodged his attack this time, pulling out a gun of his own. Meanwhile, Karissa was starting to get bored in the bush she had been sitting in for the past few minutes. Letting her boredom and curiosity get the best of her, she got up and started towards the sound. As she walked, her boots crunched with every step she took. In no time at all, she reached the sound to find the person who she had been traveling with, Alex, and another strange man who she did not know.
When her boots made a final crunching noise when she stopped, the strange man's head snapped to the side as he grinned at her. "There you are you little monster." He said sinisterly, as he turned back to face Alex. His face had an evil smile spread across it. "So your the one who's been hiding Project 946. Mind if I take her?" He didn't wait for an answer. He sprang at Karissa, abandoning the battle that he was currently in. Karissa didn't seem fazed by him, just as he was about to grab her, she sprang up into a tree skillfully.

He was stunned when he mentioned Karissa. He yelled "NO" he twirled as the man ran past him, his gun clicked lightly as he growled, "Never turn your back on me, I am Number Three!"
The bullet flew from the chamber, the shell twirling down into the snow. The armor penetration bullet began to rotate through the air as in dance, the bullet itself had been targeted for the spinal column.

The bullet made direct contact to the spine, and stopped halfway through the body. She man stopped dead in his tracks, stunned by the bullet. not long after he fell to the ground, a pool of blood forming in the snow. Karissa stared down at the man, waiting for him to move. She had never witnessed a death, so she did not understand the meaning of it. She jumped down from the branch she was perched in and looked down at the body, then at Alex.
