She tilts her head and relaxes a bit. "Well I am a demon. If this form makes you uncomfortable I can change to something more to your comfort level." Her wings and horns disappear as well as her fangs. She looks like a normal human. She hesitantly holds out her hand. "Jules. Jules Giest. What you see behind me was my home. And over there is Neo." (To see her human form check her profile and go to menu and the other Jules stories)
She gives him a look over. "Stiv was it? I'd be careful if I were you. The person who did this is a force to be reckoned with. What are your plans anyway?" She crosses her arms and shifts her weight to the right.

And all hell breaks loose.
A ray of light that hurts to look at and blisters the skin lashes out toward the Warden as she, Drake, and her Shriker disappear. In the wake of the beam, a wall of fire erupts as the power of the sun rips through the air, shearing over the landscape for several kilometers along the coast before crossing over the ocean, boiling the water beneath it and tearing off over the horizon, travelling in a straight line tangent to the planet's curve. People in towns hundreds of kilometers from the site can see the hellish ray's blazing corona, like a second sun stretched wide over the horizon. Highly flammable materials such as paper within up to about 120 meters and directly exposed to the light will catch fire, as will wood within abour 70m. The vicious ray lasts for only a few short seconds, but the damage is done.
At their teleportation "landing" site, the hilltop where Victi had first arrived, the sorceress falls over, completely exhausted and staring at the burning horizon.
"Dammit," she mutters, "Too much mana to keep my wards up and get us here and....AGH!" Her feral shout of frustration as she rolls onto her back makes it clear that she really hadn't meant to let her spell do.... whatever it had done.
After a moment, she remembers Drake. "Crud, your hand," she says, adding something in another language gesturing vaguely with one limp-looking hand. Her shriker makes a small chirping sound as a light flashes. "The roll of silk-looking bandages in the back bit Use some of that, it'll help. I'll deal with the rest once... once I can move. Let my siphones give me enough mana to at least run my nerves properly..." While the spell did its job, presumably, if with some unexpected side effects, it was very clear that it had taken a massive toll on her as well.

"The hel-WHAT!?" Drake catches a glimpse of fire, no, the sun itself blasting across the landscape, demolishing the lighthouse, the field, the coast, the woods. Everything in his sight.
Then they're standing on a hilltop beside Victi's shriker. The horrible fire has become a distant red glow along the dim horizon.
Drake stares in disbelief, ignoring Victi as she collapses and briefly forgetting he'd been shot in the hand. What the hell just happened...?
At the vixen's command, her shriker makes a much-too-cheerful little noise that jars him back to the present. He gasps and looks down at his hand, the palm crimson with blood and mangled beyond recognition. He presses his good hand against his heaving and fluttering chest to find that his shirt is wet, likewise stained with red.
God damn it; I liked this shirt.
That's a funny thought to have while you're bleeding out. He laughs. Then he realizes that it's not actually funny and grows quiet while fumbling through the shriker's back storage compartment in search of silken bandages. His vision has begun to dim when his hands close on something soft and shaped vaguely like a roll of gauze. "Aha..."
He falls to his knees on the ground, cradling the roll his arm like a mother would a precious child. Somewhere behind the growing haze of delirium, Drake understands that this is the one thing that'll save him from succumbing to blood loss. Don't drop it; you won't find it again. Hah!. He wastes no time binding his injury; stop the blood flow now before his mind goes for good.

She paused after seeing the fire cutting through the treetops. She was confused by this and switched her path so she wouldn’t run into it. She sighed and kept walking. She kept her mind focused on just getting somewhere to rest and eat. She made her cloak hood was hiding her face and snowflake hair piece.
As Evelyn draws near the village she seeks, the trees thin, allowing more and more of the inferno's distant glow to greet her eyes. She eventually reaches a clearing, beyond which lies a ring of hobbles declaring the border of Trilling Creek. The lousy excuse for a township appears impossibly crowded as everyone gathers outside to gawk at the disaster. Shocked screams, crying children, collective gasps and hen-like chatter mill in the air. People point at the growing thunderhead of smoke as wildfires sprout from the lance's wake of destruction. "What in God's name just happened?" "-hell on earth!" "Should we run?" "Do you think the fire can reach here?" "If the winds allow it, I'm afraid..."
Although a mysterious stranger usually draws from them a maelstrom of suspicions, most villagers will be too preoccupied to notice her. A few might shoot Evelyn a wide-eyed glance. One or two may even stop her to ask if she sees the smoke, but for the most part, no one will care that she's there.
She sighs and looks for a tavern. While she hates using drunk people as her prey, they tend to be the easiest to drag away from people. She eventually found the tavern and headed inside. She sat at an empty space at the bar and looked at the people around her. She wanted to find a easy target so she could get done drinking fast. She thought that drinking from people was too much of a chore sometimes. She sighed again while looking around at people. She kept a hand on her hairpiece so no one could steal it.
Alastor laughs nervously. "Now now, no need to hide your true nature if you don't want to." He accepted the handshake before continuing. "Jules, eh? And.. ah! Apologies sir, I didn't see you on approach! Neo, was it? It's a pleasure to meet you both. I'm so sorry about your home."
"As for me, I'm just a trader, looking for an old friend. Perhaps you could help me? She is a sorceress of great power! Generally considered untenable to oppose?" The act was already getting old in Alastor's mind. He hated playing such innocent and weak characters. But at the same time, what better way to pass under the radar of most? He would have to grin and bear it for a bit longer

Liliath thought that these people were funny. They said funny things, specially the female one. A demon! Liliath tought it was to funny to be true. This lady sounded like her own mother, mother always said that she saw demons, but that was because she was drunk. Was this lady drunk as well?
Liliath who was curious decided to peek and she noticed someone with wings and horns! Was that the demon? The lady then turned back into a human, this human didn't looked scary at all. She looked just like a normal person and she had a normal name 'jules'.
But when Jules said that the other person name was Stiv she started giggeling loudly, she thought it was a funny name. It was maybe a little bit rude to laugh, but she also laughed because she was nervous.
Neo would just wave his hand, but then he heard giggling. And it was coming from the woods."You guys stay and chat,I'll check it out."Neo would walk in the the woods, and see a little girl, either 9 or 10,and he was laughing. She did remind him of someone, but he payed no mine,he would walk up to the kid,and say,"It's not nice to be nosy kid."
After a minute or two, Victi tentatively pulls herself up using the seat of her Shriker, stopping to take a couple of deep breaths as her body got used to not having mana to run along her nerves. Her movements seemed a bit sluggish, as if she'd been lightly drugged or very drunk.
She mutters something else in her native language, and part of the console of her vehical slides out of the way, exposing another, smaller, compartment. All that's in it is a half dozen small vials of a thick clear liquid, and a handle piece that it looks like the vials can slot into.
She takes one of the vials and looks at it, turning it with her fingers for a few moments before popping it into the grip and adjusting something on the tiny display which flicked into existence as she did so.
Even the quarter dose she had set it to would likely heal his hand just fine. She knew that. And she did want to prove that Jules lady wrong about treating her merc as disposable. Nobody with any professional courtesy did that kind of thing.
On the other hand (heh) she really didn't want to use nano on him. Sure, she had a living fountain of the stuff back on the ship, but down here she didn't have much, and it was mostly for life-and-death type things. You never really appreciate something until it's rare.
No, not giving it to him. Not yet at least. She set the injector to 'locked' and out it back, re-sealing the console. They needed to avoid fights for a while, that injury of Drake's would help her remember that while her mana reserves recovered. ....And she went through withdrawl. She knew that would kick in way sooner than she wanted. That spell was quite the hit, but while all of her remaining energy went to keeping her defenses up, her body would start to crave running mana through it in more normal ways, ways she couldn't allow just yet. She gave it an hour before the cramping.
She shook her head slightly, and moved to the open back compatment. Drake had made a bit of a mess in there, but she was still able to find what she needed. A small bottle of painkillers. She pulled out two of the capsules and swallowed one of them. It would help with the withdrawal later. She then held the other out to Drake, saying "You'll want this. Don't bite it, just swallow it. It will reduce the pain a lot, and then we can get going. I don't wanna stay in one place for long while we're like this."

Well, well, well.... She'd felt the need to call down a Heliolance. Typically a siege spell for powerful sorcerers on the ground without ship support. And she'd turned it into a direct combat spell. Though at a significant cost, apparently.
The magistrate tapped a clawed finger on his desk slowly, considering the discussion he'd had with his officers as she had done so. They'd detected the lance preparing and charging, and had moved the ship to intercept it. The beam would have hardly tickled the shields, and his... allies on the ground, for lack of a better phrase with politically favourable connotations, would have been protected.... but she'd managed to re-locate the spell a full light-minute before it reached them. Coincidence, of course, he knew it to be so, but still frustrating.
Now, however, she was weakened, her body seeming void of mana if she couldn't even afford to supply any to her nervous system. And the idiot sell-sword who had sold said sword to his enemy was injured. She would take some time to recover, he knew, and in that time, well... he had plans to enact as well, what with the very helpful devastation she had caused.
He left his study to prepare. Perhaps he would make a few house calls...

Liliath stopped laughing and simply shrugged "I don't see the problem with it." She said calm "It is better to laugh then to cry." Liliath climbed in the tree "And you aren't nice either!" She yelled. This wasn't her plan, she didn't want that people would find her if police would fine her there was a big change that she would get send to foster family's.
Liliath didn't want that the only parents she wanted where her own and not new ones.
Neo would just roll his eyes, and say,"Your alone, aren't you?"Neo know a orphan when he see one,but it didn't mind. Then his arm started glowing, and Neo would look at the little girl.'Does she...great now I have to protect a little girl...'Neo would just shake his head, and said,"Kid,If you come down,I'll help you with anything you want."
"I am not alone and I don't need help, leave me alone!" Liliath only yelled this becaus she was scared they would send her to a foster family. She climbed higher in the tree then she ever had done before. This situation only made her angry, she didn't need help nobody needed to help her. She could take care of herself that's what she did for already a month!
"Kid, stop, your gonna fall if you go that high!", Neo said.He was worried, but he didn't know for what reason. He would think, then he realized. She was alone for whatever reason, and didn't want to go back to where she came. However people would carry her to foster home, seeing that she is alone."Kid,I won't take you a foster home, seeing that your alone, but just stick with you. See my arm?"He would raise his demonic arm, which was glowing a light blue."You probably have a shard, of a vase, that controls something right? So, just come down and we will talk, alright?"
"No means no in my case!" She didn't trusted him and when he knew why she was scared, she didn't trust him at all. She climbed down and sticked her tongue out "I don't talk with strangers goodbye." Liliath decided to climb in another tree and started waiting for him to leave
"But your talking to one right now,so I would say that you already broke that rule..."Neo said while following her."But I'm patient,so bad luck for you, I guess."Neo would sit and summon Rudra, then use the wind to get where she was, and grab her by the leg, letting her upside down, before jumping down.
Liliath simply freed herself and climbed again in the tree and climbed higher then she had ever done before. She simplysat there calmly and continued waiting for him to leave, she didn't want help.
"That's it."Neo would summon an larger, spectral version of his arm,and grab the girl again, but this time, held her high, and gave a grip not enough to kill her,but strong enough so she wouldn't let go."Neo what are you-""Shut it Rudra",and the blue sword did just that.Neo would then sit, keep the girl still and bring her out the tree."if you think about struggling, your going to fall and break at least one of your legs...so Don struggle,Kay?"
(Neo she doesnt have a shard yet)
Jules spread her wings and her horns grew back. "Id appreciate it if you didnt keep up your act either. It's kind of sickening." She moves closer to him. "If this sorcerer, or whatever, you're talking about is true I take it you have a shard dont you." Her eyes turn black. "And do me a favor, dont lie to me. I hate being lied to." Her fangs grow slightly.
After a moment she backs away from him. "You've already lied to me about a few things, your name for starters and I can tell by your mannerisms and your face that you aren't enjoying this. At first I thought it was disgust because of me." Her eyes turn back. "Then I realized you were disgusted with the whole innocent goody goody act." She sighs. "I think it would be better for us all if you just tell the truth from now on."
She pauses and glances over at the kid and Neo then back at 'Stiv'. "You done lying to me? And I mean if that lady is a friend of yours, I may just have to hurt you for siding with her after what she has done to my home and two people to whom she killed." She knits her brows recalling the scene.

Alastor tried to look shocked, but the mounting accusations told him there was no getting past Jules on this one. What was a concerned smile turned into his usual wolfish grin. "Well now, not often someone is able to call me out that quickly. A woman after my own heart!" He added sarcastically.
"Alright you got me. My name ain't Stiv. And that sorceress ain't a friend of mine. Though I'm guessing you have a shard as well, if you knew who I was talking about."
"That said, if you want me to stop lying, I can do that. Don't expect to get too much of a life story though. The name's Alastor." Alastor wandered over to a piece of rubble nearby to sit down, before pulling out one of his daggers to twirl between his fingers. "So you've already hit the 'big bad sorceress' eh? Guess I can piece together how that went. She didn't get your shard, did she? Oh, and do ME a favour. Spare me the show. If you wanted me dead, I imagine you'd already be working on that."

"Show? Oh honey I wouldnt kill you. Being the type of demon I am. Well. I'd more than likely hurt you badly enough to almost kill you then heal you and torture you in a whole new level. Until I tire of you and see if i let you live or not." She smirks showing off a fang.
"That being said I dont plan on hurting you. Unless you double cross me. And your act is something I deal with often with other demons, though you are good at it and I doubt anyone wouldve picked up on either. So kudos to you! And to answer your question, yes I am also a holder of a shard. As well as Neo.. who seems to be causing trouble." She sighs and holds out her black heart necklace which seems different then most necklaces.
