She giggles. "Well if what he said is true then I greatly appreciate it. It's very sweet that I'm the one you decided to talk to. Even if it's only becausei possess a shard." She smiles and reaches for his arm. She then perfectly and comfortably wraps the bandage around his arm. Her face was focused as she wrapped. She then looks up. "How about a place with some good meat or something? I hear this one place has a really amazing steak and if you're into deserts, a great strawberry cake thing!" Her eyes practically sparkling. She finishes wrapping and pats his arm gently. "There we are! All good! I made it extra thick incase it glows too much. Besides I have a plan if it does show through anyway, so no need to worry." She smiles confidently.
Raven snickers- from her, the gesture could come across as a sneeze -at the girl’s boast and returns with her to the cave. She watches Adriannu pluck and gut the creature with morbid fascination; she finds the way two-leggeds prepare their meats to be utterly pointless, but interesting to watch.
When Adriannu tosses her some of the spoils, Raven hesitates, then smiles and lunges at the pheasant’s head. She paws it and plays around for a few seconds before nibbling on the bird’s tender skin. Mouth full, she looks up and mewls, “Good girl, you know how to treat a guest!”

Neo would move his arm around a bit,it was surprising comfortable, but the glow wasn't there."Yeah,we could go their."Neo would get up, and stick his hand out."Do you want to choose the weapon before or after you eat? It's your choice either way."Neo would would think for a moment.'Am I enjoying this?Maybe I am,but I am still keeping a lookout for...them.She would know, but not know, not yet'
"After is fine. I'm starving!" She looks at his out stretched hand and smiles. She grabs his hand gently and leads him to the place. Shes careful not to drag him but more walk beside him.
She smiles as they arrive and she points. "That's the place right here!" She gives his hand a squeeze. "Ready to go inside?" She looks up at him with a bright smile, one she hasn't worn in a long time.

Adriannu had just finished gutting the pheasant and tossed the parts she wouldn't eat away from the cave mouth for Raven or perhaps some other scavengers to eat. Afterwards she was working on preparing a fire when the black cat started to bat the bird's head before nibbling on it. Yet it was when the feline spoke that broke Adriannu's concentration on making her fire and she even dropped the bow drill she was using in favor of snatching a dagger from her hip for defense. Voices meant other people and other people meant potential danger.
Quickly turning around, Raven would see that Adriannu was clearly on edge and ready to defend herself. Yet only seeing the cat caused her to blink a few times in confusion. Taking a look around, the child saw that there was no one else around and thus she asked. "Did Kitty...talk?" The confusion and disbelief in the cat girl's voice likely made it clear to Raven that the child had never seen a talking cat before, or possibly any kind of talking animal before. Naturally as a result, she found it hard to believe that the voice could have come from Raven, but the lack of any other visible alternatives made her consider what was very unlikely to her possibility that it was the cat.
Should Raven choose to speak again, Adriannu would look very shocked for a bit, but soon started smiling instead. "Cool! I never met a talking kitty before!...Wait does kitty like being called kitty?" Well first of all, that confirmed any suspicions the cat might have regarding the kid's experience with talking animals and apparently even under surprising circumstances, still managed to remember her manners as well.
(Decided to do a little research into how one would start a fire and thus gave Adriannu a bow drill. Second I decided that Adriannu hasn't completely lost her childish nature, but only expresses it when she feels safe. The second she feels threatened, she instantly switches to a more mature, but cynical, and distrusting one. Going to add such to her profile.)

"Magistrate!" calls the communications officer, "the sorceress is sharing valuable intel with the mercenary! They, erm.... appear to be cooperating or at the very least negotiating his hiring to assist her"
"Go on...." replies the magistrate, gritting his teeth, voice filled with tranquil fury.
"W-well," the officer says, "she's indicated that, specifically, she needs control over the planet's manasphere. He hasn't asked why, this happened seconds ago, but I can patch through the trasnsmission."
"Do it," comes the growled response.

Raven's nose wrinkles and her tail twitches in a way that suggests no, no, she doesn't much care for being called kitty. Miffed, she replies, "Of course, Raven can talk. Raven loves to talk and very much likes to be called by her name."
Hopefully, Adriannu gets the hint. Raven snatches her pheasant head in her mouth and carries it to the fire. Provided the child stops calling her "Kitty," she thinks she'll enjoy having some new company for a while. Besides, it might take some time to smoothly guide their conversation to the topic she wants: the shard and the magistrate's message.
I found a fellow shard-holder in the span of half a morning; Lisa's either going to love this or kill me for it. She snickers at this thought while looking the girl up and down, eyes lingering in strange, possibly uncomfortable places as she searches for the shard on the girl's person.

Victi sighs and makes a few vague gestures. The sounds from the rest of the inn fade away, the door seems more like a part of the wall, and Drake probably gets the feeling that a large number of small bugs have abruptly met their untimely ends as the matress crackles briefly.
"Well, I'm certainly happy that I tried to kill and rob the right person, and you're probably happy that I'm not going to try and kill and rob you now that you're useful," she sighs, jumping onto the bed and laying on her back in a relaxed posture, "as to why I didn't ask before.... giving people more information than I need is probably a bad idea given what I'm trying to do. Most people don't really know the story, according to research, and the rest don't believe it. The ones that do are in the rounding error. They'd think I was insane before I told them the plan. By the time I noticed the shard on you, you were ready to come here."
She let that sit for a moment, letting his most important question linger a little longer before saying, "And I'm not planning on ending your world. I just need to borrow a living world's entire manasphere and the collective awareness of every creature living on its surface and in its oceans for, say...... eighteen to twenty-six hours? Turns out, not many places where that's even possible, so I'd kinda like this to work since there's an easy-to-use aritfact for that here. Even if it is blood magic." Her face scrunches in disgust for a moment at the thought.

Drake stiffens as all exterior sounds fade away and he looks to the door only to get the sense that it's turned into a flat, immovable painting or at best a shred of tapestry. His eyes widen as the nagging sense of being trapped prickles his skin.
His eyes dart to Victi, who moves toward him, then to his relief, simply pounces on the bed and rolls over. It's another nice view, one of many that seem a little too intentional.
He doesn't comment on her explanation for his first question. It's fair enough. When she goes on to talk about borrowing his entire planet's manosphere, something he assumes has to do with what scholars from his homeland call environmental or ambient magic, he guffaws. "An entire world's manosphere! What the hell are you going to do with a-my world's manosphere?"
"Here kitty kitty kitty!" Lisa marches along the forest's edge, calling for Raven. The sun continues to rise, and the longer she searches the more she entertains the thought that something terrible has happened to her familiar.
No, no. That's not it.
Raven's just flighty. And cocky.
And reckless.
...Oh no something very bad could have happened to her.
At this point, the chimera even entertains the thought of shapeshifting into a form that possesses the nose she'd need to track Raven by scent: the form she was almost born knowing to use and the form she hates using.
"No, no..." she muses out loud. "That's drastic. You know Raven. She's reckless, but also clever and full of mischief. She likely wandered onto the road to harass travelers...."

"Hopefully trap something that could be huge problem elsewhere. Lock it in your planet for a million years or something, assuming my math was right, which I'm pretty sure it is. Either way, hopefully that will starve it enough that someone could kill it later. I mean, ideally me if I'm still around, but if not I know some people who should be," she explains, putting her hands behind her head, "I have to lure it here, too, but that's the easy part. Pretty easy to bait something like that, even if it's nowhere near here right now. Like... probably-doesn't-even-know-this-place-exists-yet-and-it's-likely-functionally-omniscient nowhere near here."
She bends one knee, dragging her foot across the rough sheet to soothe a slight itch in one paw pad before just leaning her leg against the wall. More comfortable than not. She turned her eyes to watch Drake, letting him process what she'd said, asking, "That explain things enough for you?"

Neo would nod, going into the place. When he entered,he smelled many things, but mostly food. His stomach would growl louder. He would look around and saw an empty table in the corner, and he would go to it immediately.Neo didn't like public places for one reason, there always seemed to be one guy that recognized him and try to get him in trouble.Neo would then put on his hoodie over his head, preventing the chance for someone to recognized him.
She takes notice to him being uncomfortable. "You know we dont have to eat here if it makes you too uncomfortable." She sits at the table and looks up at him with concern. "Or get it to go if youd prefer."
Neo would shake his head and say,"It's not that I'm uncomfortable,it's just that don't want to be recognized by anyone."Just when he said that,a drunkard would come to the table and say,"Hey,don't you know that this isn't a place for half demons,Neo,why don't you leave."Neo would just put his head on the table, knowing what would happen next.He would say something, get him mad,and a brawl would start. But that wasn't the case,as the drunkard would look at Joules and whistle, which made Neo lose his cool slowly.
She stared at the drunken man. "Please do not whistle at me like that. I am currently with someone at the moment, clearly." She says as she motions her hand toward Neo. "There is nothing wrong with demons in my opinion." She declared as she would look at the drunken man. Why fo I feel as if he will not hear a word I'm saying... he keeps staring at my chest... she sighs as she becomes more and more uncomfortable. "Stop looking down there! My eyes are up here!" She protested to no avail. She knits her brows and looks away a little defeated.
The drunkard would continue to look, and then say,"Why don't come to my table? It'll be much more exciting if you do."Neo was still listening to the conversation. He knew that Joules was being uncomfortable around the guy,and he really wanted to punch him in the face, but he couldn't,so he would continue continue and if he hear something wrong,he punch the dude out the window.
Just then, an attractive man, holding a scary helmet, walked in. He looked pretty young, with no bags under his eyes, the face of a young lifeful body. He made his way to a seat and just sat there, looking like he needed someone to talk too. He sat his helmet facing them and crossed his arms
Behind him was a different man, a man with his helmet on, and stood next to The Warden
The pair stare deeply into the barelands as any human would into a vortex to another planet. The flatness itself wouldn't be as strange if not for the lack of....everything. Very few trees left the land accurately named, barren of the usual limbs and other things the Vynym were used to seeing on the ground. Kae stopped, pulling Vee to a stop as well and they looked at their friend out of concern, both for Kae themselves, and for the current situation they were finding themselves in.
Vee opened their mouth to speak, but the loud noises they heard from the billowing smoke in the distance startled them, and both stared into the distance. They vaguely saw the men in the distance move about, shouting about....something before stopping and apparently staring out in their direction.
Both of them held reserved fears about this, but it seemed plainly obvious it was civilization. Nothing like they had seen before of course, but the reaction was not that of a mindless animal.
Kae walked up closer to Vee, grabbing around their waist and pressing their torso into their back. They peered over Vee's shoulder using them as a kind of shield for protection with wide eyes aimed at the tower, not dissimilar from the way Vee stared at the percieved alien nation.
"What we do?" Kae asked shakily, not taking their eyes off of the tower. Vee stared several moments, already knowing the answer but reluctant to go through with it. Where had Kae's leading confidence gone? When did Vee suddenly become the eldest in their eyes for a change? Vee looked over their shoulder, their face so close to Kae's they were nearly kissing.
"We go," they said before looking back to the tower. "Maybe shard owner there."
With a deep breath Vee started walking in the direction of the tower, a light squish of marshlands beneath their feet in each step. Kae quickly followed along, grabbing Vee's hand and pulling themselves up beside them quickly and attaching to their side.
Anything they percieved as weapons fired in their direction would cause them to flee in terror, but short of open hostilities, the pair intended to walk right up to this alien tower, and likely say hello in a very Vynym way. A way barelandians might not recognize, or even appreciate.

By the gods! They.... they looked like people from that far out! But closer, they were walking plants! Were they.... forest spirits? Magically armoured tribesfolk? Magical beasts? The way they approached cautiously looked almost like a pair of lost children.... The guardsman had called to the lieutenant to see if he could let them know what to do here. He seemed just as lost, but said to let them approach and greet them, so long as they did not take any aggressive action, while he roused the captain.
He had no idea if they would understand anything he would say, but hoped that a jovial tone would translate into... whatever language they spoke or pollen puffed or.... however they communicated. He dearly hoped they used words.
"Why hello there!" he called, "Erm.... Could I ask what your business is.... forest dwellers?" He hesitates as he figures out what to call them, hoping they would not get offended. They did not look armed, but in his experience, an unarmed traveller was likely a sorcerer, and a sorcerer was nobody to offend if you wanted to keep your life.
And two unarmed travellers meant one of a great number of things, most of which were even more dangerous. Add to that the fact that they had just come from an obviously enchanted rainforest, and he was admittedly nervous.
His partner crouched behind the tower-top's low wall, his crossbow loaded so he could stand and shoot if they came under threat. The guardsman speaking nervously manipulated the glass bottle in his hand, which would release a thick choking smoke when shattered on the ground below. He hoped the two creatures would be friendly, being as they had approached so openly, but he was afraid of them.

She looks at him with an awkward smile not wanting to stir trouble. "No thank you. I will have to pass this time. Besides, you would hate to be with me." She gives out an air laugh. The drunken man grabs her arm. "Hey! Buddy I dont know what you're trying to pull here, but knock it off." She glares at him as she tries shaking her arm loose of his firm grip. He squeezed tighter. "You're hurting me..." Her arm slowly becoming noticeably redder as she tries digging her nails into his arm to make him release. "I said LET ME GO!" Her eyes flashed black for only a second. However, he was too focused on 2 other things to notice.
