Scarlett went into the dining hall as Datin turned the corner. She went up to the stage and laid the girl on the table, silently praying that she reach paradise. She motioned the teachers over and made up her mind to notify the students.
alucard sat at his usual spot in the dining hall when he saw scarlett walk in carrying someone. upon seeing it, he got up and began to walk over to her. "what happened this time?". he wondered. when he got over to where scarlett and the teachers were standing, he tapped her on the shoulder. "what happened to her? is it another lone wolf?".
Scarlett shook her head and mumbled. "Worse, it was the hunter again." she said taking a seat with the teacher. It was tradition to lay a fallen soul at the stage when he or she died, and pray for them to reach paradise. "Alucard, please tell Datin our tradition so he won't get too freaked out with the fallen girl." Scarlett mumbled to Alucard and walking up to the podium.
Datin had followed after Alucard, and stared at the dead girl. His eyes went blank and his body started shaking slightly. Memories flooded back to him. A women falling to the ground, breaking glass, and lots of blood all came back to him. "Who was it?" was all the boy could get out.
"right. i'll go find him and tell him.". alucard turned around and nearly jumped two feet in the air when he saw datin had followed him. "i guess you heard everything, huh? or do I have to repeat what she said?".
" Hunters right?" Datin said recovering a bit from the memories. "Why lay them on the stage though?"
"To honor them." Scarlett said. "Her name was May. No last name, you have a choice to change your name here, a fresh start." she added. "Sit down please and we can start the prayer." Scarlett said loud enough for everybody to hear, but not yelling.
"it is so the whole camp can pray that the fallen soul reaches the paradise safely. although, this isn't the first run in we've had with the hunters. and another odd thing is, this is their youngest victim. so what's going on back in those villages.". a thought hit alucard as fast as possible. alucard turned and looked at scarlett. "scarlett, wouldn't it be nice to have a lookout for a for the camp?". alucard glanced over his back at datin with a look that said 'give me a minute'.
Datin nodded towards the two and sat down at an empty table. He needed a bit of peace to mull over what had just happened. He made sure to pray for the poor girl before running over his thoughts. The women, the blood, the broken glass. Whoever that women was she had probably been killed by someone. The person , looked very similar too....of course not his mother had died of sickness. She couldn't have been killed. Could she? Datin's head began to hurt thinking over this so he decided to focus on the upcoming meal.
alucard took a seat next to scarlett and continued to try to nominate his idea. "what if me and datin go and see whats going on down in the human village. that way we can find out what they're up to and relay it back to the camp?".
"While that is a very good idea Alucard, do you remember what happened the last time you went to the village?" Scarlett said with a smile on her face.
alucard frowned at the memory. "you kill someone in self defense and suddenly you're the bad guy. but I can't let him go in alone. he's only a Halfling. look what happened to him last time he was on his own. who's going to go with him if I don't?".
Scarlett waved her hand in dismissal. "You can go, just stay away from the humans as much as possible. And no snacks." Scarlett said sternly looking Alucard in the eye.
alucard laughed. "thanks, I'll try to go on a diet this time around". alucard looked down the table at datin. "I guess I could tell him later. for now, I'm going to eat!". alucard then began to eat the raw pork in front of him, chewing and drinking like an animal. finally, he wiped his mouth and clapped his hands together twice, his way of thanking the bringer of the meal thank you. "well, I'm going to head back to my room. if there's seconds let me know.". alucard walked out of the dining hall and into the clear night.
Scarlett rolled her eyes and approached Datin. "Mind if I sit with you?" She asked sitting across from him as the other vampires mumbled around them. She clapped her hands thrice, declaring that she wanted the raw steak and red wine.
Datin glanced up at Scarlet and nodded with a smile. Datin then looked down and began eating his piece of meat. A few minutes later, as the murmurs and whispers continued Datin spoke to the girl and a quiet voice. "Are you sure you want to sit here? Wouldn't it hurt your reputation, being around a half blood like me?"
Scarlett laughed and took a sip of her drink. "They are only watching us because I rarely sit with a student for a meal. I usually sit with the teachers, because I'm like the principal here." Scarlett finished with a smile.
Datin faced upon the girl with admiration. "Amazing you don't look old enough to be a principal. How old are you exactly? If you don't mind me asking." Datin said to the girl.
Scarlett look Datin in the eyes and smiled. "Appearances aren't everything. I may look 19, but I am 1000." Scarlett said taking another sip of her goblet.
Darin look at the girl wide eyed. " 1000 years?! You don't look a day past 19. Amazing."
