For long years, you labored in the fields like all the peasants, sweating hot and dirty in the summer, only to shiver under threadbare hides when winter came. This year’s harvest ended like all the rest, and autumn’s work was hard on Old Man Roberts. When you visited his bedside at the end, he spoke in labored breaths of constellations that hadn’t been seen since he was a young lad. The last time the Empty Star had risen in the sky, it was more than fifty winters past, he said. Under the light of that strange star a portal had opened by the old stone mounds. He’d seen jewels in there and fine steel spears and enameled armor, but he’d run when the iron men had attacked. Now, old and dying, he wishes he’d taken the chance on a life of adventure. The Empty Star is once more rising, and a young man with courage could be more than just another peasant – if only he’d take the chance Old Man Robert hadn’t. Now its your turn, will you take that chance?


Looking for a few players that might be interested in playing this adventure! (It's a published module, though I may be tweaking it a bit.)

• Some dice use expected. If you have a first level D&D character, you're welcome to use their stats. If not, no worries. We'll just go with a straight d20 roll when something requires a die roll.
• Multiple characters per person are welcomed, even encouraged. (Particularly if you're okay with one of them biting the dust at some point!)
• Post length is not super important. Write what makes sense for the scene. Ultimately, I need to know "what is the character trying to do."
• The intro is written in second person, which I'm not a huge fan of. I'll try to stick with mostly 3rd person for the actual adventure.

Since I'm running low on character slots, I tossed a couple characters under a general 'peasants' account. Each player (if you even decide you want more than 1 character) is welcome to handle that however you see fit. Personally, I just like this idea so that I can kill one them off at an appropriately dramatic moment.

Going to make a post soon, just need to get a character sorted out, I don't think my current ones would fit in super well.

Ooo, looks fun. Nevarri Wryss, Human Sorcerer, Pyromancer Subclass, should be perfect for this.

Edit: or maybe not? Neva was designed to be from nobility, so working in the dirt isn't her thing. HMMM.

Yarrik, could you make her from somewhere other than wherever this village is located? As long as she holds no authority over the other characters, we can probably make it work.

Anyone else? Those who have expressed interest, just checking if you're still on board. If you just need a little more time to figure out character(s), that's fine!

I gave up on creating a whole new character and just decided to use one of my other DND characters, Angrim. I think he'll work just fine if we imagine he's a peasant rather than a monster hunter.

Perhaps it's simply Angrim's younger years and his start to what eventually leads to him becoming a monster hunter?

And ... ah! The peer pressure... I added some basic stats for my peasants.

Hey, if you're still looking, I've just created a bunch of pseudo dnd fantasy OCs and am dying to test them out of you'd have me.

Well, I have two fantasy ones on here, however with a more pesant background I don't think either might work, however I have one or two others outside which I feel could be quite good when brought in.

Just as a check - we're allowed non-human races aren't we?

Non human is fine and you're welcome to play whoever you'd like. I was simply curious!


Edit: within reason.... I would likely say no to something like a shapeshifting dragon as it doesn't fit the vibe.

I was thinking something more along the lines of a minotaur or half-elf for my species if that works with you?
