I haven't used 3 characters of mine. Jill, and Gina. I have plot ideas for all of them.

Jill - Y/C has known Jill since high school, they're friends (or they're dating). Y/C notice one day that while they're crying or a mutual friend of the both of them. Jill seems almost emotionless. This sparks your investigation into if she's faking emotions or that moment was just the one of it's kind.
Gina - We need to discuss the age you want Gina to be but Y/C known Gina since childhood. Y/C knows her like the back of their hand but one day Y/C notices that she's not at school. Y/C looks for her and finds her killing one of her (or Y/C bullies). Y/C now have to pretend you don't know she's a murderer.
We can also discuss any plot ideas for any of my characters. Not just these 2.

Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.
Modern
No combat. If problems arise, players may be expected to solve it without resorting to violence.
