The Kingdom of Artot was thriving as well as any kingdom by the sea could. Rich trade, vast markets, strong Royal Military, numerous citizens, and only the occasional war over land and sea with the neighboring Kingdom of Nem.
Magic, while not exactly common, is known of and those smart enough to learn the craft, are highly respected and admired. It's not uncommon to find small raiding groups lounging in taverns, looking for work, shady or other wise, but nothing that would draw the suspicion of the ever watchful eye of the Royal Military Guards.
Your typical generic fantasy RP, pretty flexible. Looking for a small group of adventurers who like long multi paragraph RPs in solid turn rotation. (A, B, C, A again ect)
I don't necessarily have a solid plot planned. Mostly just let the characters meet and naturally go on a quest together, evolving the plot around character growth. Maybe they'll have to team up and try and take down a small faction of the rival kingdoms military that's snuck into town? Maybe the King of Artot is corrupt and needs to be taken down from the inside? Maybe a character has found a magical item that sparks an evil bad guy into world ending doom? Let's figure it out.
My character would be Para (I changed my mind on how to spell the name too late to change it without deleting all my work, so on my profile it's Phara) a Shapeshifter who doesn't know who they really are or how they came to be. They just sort of woke up fully formed and sentient one day and has been trying to blend in with humans without getting too close to them ever since.
Personal character quest for them would be the discovery of how they came to be and the aftermath of that(spoilers both not good) This would not necessarily work well as the first quest and Para is extremely shy and introverted. They wouldn't want to burden new friends, or even good friends really, with their problems.
Any sort of Western fantasy trope are welcome. Knights, mages, elves, dwarves, dragon tamers.
I don't necessarily want to be the fun police, but please no Half Animal people or Anthros? Not that kind of adventure.
Cursing and Mature language is always welcome, adult characters are being played and they should act like such. Sexual themes are also fine but nothing explicit.
Looking for one or two other adventurers. A warrior, a mage, a ranger? Honestly looking for more of standard characters as Para's sort of an oddity. But again I don't want to be the fun police!
I was thinking that Para's introduction would be getting caught trying to steal food from the market and using their shapeshifting ability to get out trouble and run, possible into one of the other characters or into the woods only to be caught later?
Whoever's interested I'd love to PM plan out a rough story board idea and then we can just go ham in a real thread.
