Vampires... I say their name and you likely think of Dracula, or perhaps Twilight. Immortal, oftentimes handsome, and always dangerous. With sharp fangs, supernatural reflexes and a hunger for human blood.
Vampires are usually portrayed as evil or powerful. I'd like to challenge that.
What if a hunter captured a vampire? Would they experiment, attempt to learn more of their weaknesses? Would they attempt to gain information on where other vampires may be hiding? Perhaps they have a change of heart and release the creature. Perhaps an unlikely romance takes form. That's all up to your character.
What if, on their way home from work, they happened across a vampire in a darkened alley? Only, it didn't attack, it couldn't. Instead, it bowed its head and asked for help. Would they listen?
What if they encounter a strange man on the street, he fidgets and squirms under the light, appearing every part the guilty, ill or addicted. How were they to know he was actually a blood-starved vampire? How do they find out?
These are just some basic proposals to help get the creative juices flowing and give you an idea of where I'm trying to go, I'd absolutely love to talk about other options with people individually. Essentially, I want to challenge the 'beautiful and unstoppable creature of the night' stereotype. I have a character in mind, a male vampire.
