Kuro walked to a pound and knelt down to it. She cupped her hands and scoped up some water to drink. She looked at the reflexion of herself in the water, then it shifted into what she would look like if she was born, and didn't have animal DNA mixed with hers. Solid black hair, blue eyes, the way she wanted to look. Then it changed back to how she does look, red streaks, black hair, one blue eye, the other red. Kuro grabbed a rock and through it in the pound. "Why must I be a freak of nature?" She growled under her breath. She walked back to her camp site and started to pack her stuff up.

Nico looked at her and tsked, he was lying down on a tree branch and popping berries into his mouth as he continued trying to read her mind. "Why is it so hard to read her damn mind...?" Nico said to himself, concentrating harder on her. "Aha. There we go...eh...haha...a runaway. Yep it's the right girl." Two bags of gold for this girl...that man has some issues.Nico stayed in the tree and continued waiting for the woman to return.

The dark figured male walked along the rivers edge in the bright sunlight. Completly clad in black he let out a groan as he put a black leather glove over his bandaged face. It had been months since his last meal and frankly he was no ordinary man. He a vampire in broad daylight, a most rare of occasions. He panted and took in a deep breath as he caught the scent of two people both were unfamiliar to him.

Kuro felt someone edge into her mind. She looked up at the guy in the tree. " Mind not reading my thoughts?" She called up to him in a annoyed tone in her voice. She noticed the vampire but didn't think much of it.

"Nope, I don't mind, as long as you hand yourself over to your master." Nico grinned and stretched out on the tree limb. I'm picking up someone else's mind...a vampire...? Whats he doing out here? Crap. I can only read human's.

Kenji let out a sigh as he sniffed the air and his dark grey eyes foucused on the two near the trees toward the lake. He flinched as he moved his long black hair back in front of his eyes. He barely heard the twos conversation. He panted letting out a heavy sigh as he walked toward them, not for the converstaion, but mearly for the shade the trees would provide him. He let out a harsh growl as he turned to the trees and kept walk his mind foucused on releif.

Kuro shook her head and scofed at him. " How dare you tell me do such a thing. Are you wanting him to create a army to take over the world?" She was very annoyed now. She notice the vampire seem to be tired and leaving energy. " Ate you alright,sir?" She asked the vampire.

Nico chuckled at this, "I'm just a man that needs to make a living little girl, I'm sure you understand." Nico slid out his sword and looked at the vampire, "My blood's not for sale."

Kenji with a few heavy breaths as he looked over to girl and then to the man as pulled a sword. Immediatly Kenji pulled out a one of his own weapons a sleek dagger as he let out a growl and then looked to the man."Sir, I assure you in the best of ways. That I do not intend on devouring you nor tasting the blood from your veins." he said speaking in a heavy olden english accent. He gazed to the man again eyeing the sword and he stepped in the path of the girl and him."Now I ask of you kindly sir to please lower your weapon. I might not be feeling well as the lady implied, however It will not take much for me to disarm you and make you no longer a threat. It will not cost you your life. Nor serious injury." he said as he stood in a battle ready stance and moved his gloved hands in front of himself.

Nico shuddered at the thought of his blood being drained from his body. "My apoligies," Nico sheathed his sword and looked down at the girl and the vampire. NIco had no idea of how to heal someone. How could that damn vampire be so strong. I can sense from up here that I'd have no chance in a fight. Yet that girl...Her master's paying me a good price. Today might just be her lucky day.

Kenji panted again as he saw the man sheathe his sword. He took several deep breaths before he feel to the ground and into the shade. He then looked to the man and then to the woman in the tree."well now that this is squared away. Now then why are you chasing this lovely lady and I am sure it is more then a love affair. After all, you carry a sword." he said again as he started to regain his strength in the dark.

"Simple. I need the money. She's a runaway." Nico laughed a the love affair part, "Her 'Master' has sent me to get her back. What are YOU doing out here?"

Kenji looked to the man again as he raised his brow. "ah well what I am doing here? mearly I am a traveler, and though i may be hungry I will not harm you. Unless provoked, if you need gold I can give you it.Just leave the lady away, I am sure there is a good reason she ran away. And since her "master" wishes her, then I do say that it is not a good thing. Now I am my own master despite being a vampire. Now sir leave the lady alone, or perhaps I can chat with you?"

"And I can assure you that her master is hunting her down anyways. He has heavy weapons and, while I ma be quick to assume, if I don't bring her back he may be hunting me as well, especially if I found her and didn't at least slow her down." Nico sighed again, and climbed down the tree, "I am the hunter, not the hunted."

Kenji looked to him and raised her brow and looked at him and crossed his arms."Well how about I offer you protection. I am not like the current vampires. I was not bitten, nor born as one.
Rather reborn. How ever I wish you would not harm this woman.

Nico let out a sigh. "So whats your name--if you don't mind telling me?" Nico looked at him then the girl then his sword. "I don't need protection, I have an advantage in fights. However, I can read several minds in the area that are looking for her. I do believe she needs as much protection as she can get. And I slightly do fear what her master has or is going to do to her, perhaps I can lend my sword as well?"

Kenji looked to him as he bowed and extended his hand."Kenji, I have long forgotten my last name. and yours sir?" he said as he looked over and then bowed once more."Ah that is an intresting ability of yours. I cannot read minds, but others can not. but i shall accept your sword and you as well." he said with a smile under his bandages.

"Nico Nightengale." Nico shook his hand. "It's nice to meet someone that's not a human that doesn't want to rip my head off." He chuckled a little bit.

Kenji looked over to Nico as he introduced himself. He bowed in return and smiled." Quite a pleasure to meet you Nico Nightengale, And do not worry I too used to be human as well. I was changed by humans...well they were little more then monsters themselves. SO I understand the exact same thing." he said iwth a sigh as he looked to him.

Nico grinned in reply, "I know, I can read small fragments of your past, but not a lot. When's the last time you did--," Nico gulped at his fear of major blood loss, "Satisfy your blood thirst?"
