No, that's not how it happens in the game... It's very complicated

To put it simply, the 8 Pure Hearts are part of the Purity Heart, AKA this thing containing the magical power of love/goodness. And they need that to destroy the Chaos Heart, which is the evil version of that. If they can destroy the Chaos Heart, the Void will close

Also, it's not THAT modern; the game is from 2007

That's what we have been doing so far...we were just debating whether that is the way to close it or not, or if there's another trick to it.

But yep that's been the idea so far, you hit "plug it" when it appears, in order to use your fish (but it doesn't use it up).

It's sort of a long story! Hollyfrost started it, and the Upside Down...Deity profile has the whole... backstory thingy. :p A random act of kindness/creativity by Hollyfrost turned into a fun quest.
