So you CAN shapeshift?

I can adjust to move as a quadruped, and get rid of some of my upright features. Think a typical fox, but.... big and with more tails. That's all.

Alright, well, give us some examples! I'm always happy to hear how people have used shapeshifting or illusions to pull the wool over poor saps' eyes.

I use mine in combat, mostly. I can turn into a literal beast or change parts of my body to grow claws, armor plates, a deadly stinging tail, and whatnot. I don’t mean to brag, but my skills to only partially transform is actually kind of rare, so it even startles people who know about chimerae.

Ehh, a few here and there. To be completely transparent, I've been thinkin' of looking into some magic, myself. Mainly just the more.. subtle schools, but I'll take what I can get. From what I heard, you can manage it with a bit of study and the right practice. Now, lookin' at you, I'm guessin' yours is more of an inherent ability, rather than a magic one. And, well, I've seen you transform into people here a couple of times. But what about outside of just messing with people, eh? I'm always looking for more inspiration.

If you want to learn how to, hah, learn the magic, ask the chimerae, ssspecifically the lady one. The other seemsss to rely mostly on his inherited skillsss, but I believe she practicesss.

Now, ssscaring people is fun. So is scamming them out of their hard-earned money, I sssuppose, but have you ever felt the sssatisfaction of watching your victims lose their mindsss as you ssslowly erode their grasp on reality? Attack them while wearing the face of a friend, or their own image. Take advantage of their empathy by impersssonating an innocent victim. Appear. Disappear. Repeat. As far as they know, you are everything and everyone, and a not a single sssoul they meet can ever be trusted, ever again. Then after you take every peace of mind away from them...well, persssonally I like to- *draws a single claw across its throat, cocks its head to the side, and grins*

*sigh* Yeah, I guess on a smaller scale. Knocks one person out. Personally, I've always been a fan of leaving 'em alive, let 'em wallow in their suffering but hey, to each their own. But come on. Ya tellin' me you've never... oh, I dunno, started any battles between noble families? Holds? Hells, even kingdoms? Intercepting missives, denouncing kings, twisting the beliefs of theocracies? I just fail to believe I got more uses thought up than someone born with the talent.

I'm not sure it has quite that much ambition. Also, it might be insane.

I'm not an expert on the nasty, but I think its more interested in watching a few victims suffer reeeaaaal up close than any big, long term scheme. If a kingdom collapses, too many people to watch have their lives crushed at once, yunno?

I'd love to cause that sort of disruption myself with my illusions, but where I'm from that just doesn't do.

I am a sssimple, perfectly sssane creature. What else can I sssay? I do enjoy others’ sssuffering up close and persssonal. The collapssse of a kingdom can’t quite accomplish that.

That isn’t to sssay I wouldn’t care to know my shenanigans caused a kingdom to fall apart, but I wouldn’t consssider it my end goal.
