Kesoru had moved into town almost a month ago, but it was his first time out side of the property his family had purchased. It was also the first day of school, and of course his parents were making him go so that he looked "normal". As he walked the halls of the new school a small shield he had put up gave him a half a foot area around him that no one wold enter unless they tried to, the shield also did the same to bad spirits.

Ember walked down the halls of the school, students ignoring her as she came by. She wore her usual beanie and jacket to cover her tail and ears. In the school, she was known for her tendency to get in fights over when people called her weak, but everyone knew about her soft side. She never starts them unless someone bad-mouthed her. As she walked, she noticed a boy that seemed to keep his distance from everyone. Her eyes stayed glued to him, sensing that something was wrong. Curious, she started to walk towards him. "Hey." She said in an attempt to get his attention. "Something up?" She asked, placing a hand on her hip.

Looking up he simply says, "No, I just don't like people bumping into me."

Ember gave him a look. "Okay..." She thought for a moment and smiled. "You're new, right? I'm Ember." She said, holding out her hand.

"Yes, I am," he said shaking her hand. "I'm Kesoru, my family moved into town about a month ago."

"Well Kesoru, if you have any questions or problems, I'm your girl!" She adjusted her beanie with a smile plastered on her face.

"Will do," he said blushing all of a sudden.

Ember gave him a look when he blushed, but shrugged it off. "So anyway, where are you headed?"

"Um," Kesoru pulled out his schedual, "I have English 12A, room 219."

Ember nodded. "That's my class. Come on, we can walk together." She said, turning to walk.

Kesoru followed close behind and she noticed that she seemed to be given the same amount of room he was while walking through the halls. It wasn't that people were trying to avoid them it just seemed like they, well, did.

Ember stopped at a door and entered it. "Here we are." She said as she went to her seat.

Kesoru entered the room but stood at the door not knowing where to sit.

Ember couldn't help but laugh at him a bit, then motioned to the seat next to her. "No ones sitting here, so take a seat."

Slightly embarassed he quickly took the seat next to her, "wasn't sure if there were assigned seats."

Ember shrugged. "Well, there are, but this is the only seat left. You were bound to sit here anyway."

"Ah, ok. When does class start?" he asked as the bell rang, "Oh." He reached down and unzipped his back pack and pulled out a note book and pen, setting the two items on his desk.

Ember also plucked out her notebook and pen as the teacher walked in. The teacher started with notes for the new lesson, when she noticed Kesoru. "Ah, you must be our new student. Welcome." She said, glancing around the class. "Ember, will you show him around? I give you permission to leave class." She said, turning back to the bored. "Yes ma'am." Ember answered, though she was silently cheering to herself. She got up and turned to Kesoru to wait for him to follow.

Kesoru nodded when the teacher noticed him, then stood and followed Ember out of the room. He was glad she didn't make him stand up in front of the class like some other schools did.

Ember shoved her hands in her pockets as she walked. "So, is there any place you want to see first? The gym, the cafeteria, or do you want to see all your classes on your schedule first?"
